I was there! My first Dimmu Borgir concert. They did just play 45 mins or something, but great despite all the rain. This was Kimberly Goss' second concert w. the band from what I understand. The band spent most of 1997 touring w. Cradle of Filth and doing Festivals.

The point shagrath made about too many shit bands is harsh but very true. There is alot of good bands out there, but some completely abuse the whole ( its not supposed to be good production ) as an excuse to put out complete garbage. Burzum, darktheone, emperor, mayhem all had less than stellar production but the music was still audible. Thats what made them great. Some bands literally sound like a small dog be pulverized while my kids are smashing pots and pans around the house with some ass hole playing whatever he wants on the guitar. There are too many of them.
Mayhem always had great production and sound, contrary to the other bands. DMDS for example has a far superior mix than basically everything from that era.

I don't know if they have a new bass player or now they have their own or new sound guy that runs their shit but with the bass turned up so high you can hear how shitty the bassist is he literally just follows the guitar and trem picks everything. That's the one thing about a lot of bands especially first starting out they end up with guys who can half ads play guitar and are like "well give him a bass." Still pretty cool swing them so differant
The bassist joined the band after the release of the song, so it wasn't his fault for how the bass lines were composed. The song was written by then-guitarist Shagrath, which you seem him live at vocals.

Stian (Nagash) is a better guitarist than bassplayer infact, also I think he just used Dimmu Borgir as a "springboard" to get his own band The Kovenant at the time, signed w. Nuclear Blast as well, which he did.
