I was 12 in 1988 and a Guy called Gerald voodoo ray was the first single I bought with my paper round money and wishing I was older so I could go to raves lol. Had tunes on the walkman and watching MTV. Left school in 93 and then got out there. 90s rave scene and music was the best. Early 00s was good too.
1992 was a great year I remember it well. I'm still a raver now at 52. I went to a drum and bass night with Fabio and Grooverider not long ago. I might grow up one day. YOU KNOW THE SCORE HARDCORE
Ha! I'm 50 and still raving too. Just went Vibena end of October and V @ Fabric in Nov. Can't give it up, it's had too much of an impact on my life to let it go. Never want my last rave to be my last rave.
Mate, 92 was just magical, I was 17 and it felt like that was when I was born. The way you reminisce and feel your memories has me sat grinning like a twat as I watch along. And yeah, dub wars on the syllabus, I'm wiv ya. ❤
Remind's me of Sterns, Lechlade, Castlemorton, plus all the other not so well known, just brilliant memories! 21 at the time 😀 there's even pictures of myself and my husband 😅

Some of my faves of '92 1. Anything Ibiza/limited E 2. Anything Body snatch especially the 4 tracker with Funky Dub; best 12 of '92! 3. Dirty Games white 4. Alphawave white 5. Darkman (Sapho). The zombie track. 6. Dj Trace - Love Dove Sound white 7. Phantasy's Jungle remixes white 8. New Generation - Set I Free 12 9. FDS whites 10. Mu-venom/DDT white Just off the top of my head..... 🤙
Sounds I grew up to. I was 13 in 92. I was glued to pirate radio stations. Still got loads of cassettes i recorded in the loft ❤ didnt get to actually go to a rave for a couple of years, yet at that point 😂
It’s such a wicked track and the sound & image of 92 and those brilliant outdoor marquee events. When a track like that was dropped a few times a night you’d know something special was happening. Great times. 🕊️👌
I remember seeing a very realistic robot in a warehouse rave on Lea Bridge Road back in '92... havent seen anything that realistic since!... loving the video and tracks btw brought back bere memories
Mate, these videos are class! Thank you for sharing. I missed the rave scene by about 5 years. Incredible how much material was produced over just a few years.
We were once driving back from somewhere or other and the driver turns round with a worried look on his face and says.... 'I can't remember where I parked the car'. We took a few hours rest before carrying on... 🎉🎉🎉🎉
in 92 i was only 9 but my 16 year old cousin was playing all these hardcore tunes in his car with big speakers and sub woofers back then it blew my mind and it stuck with me for life, now all i listen to is electronic music mainly house
Luv the salute to GnR and slash!!. Anyway, 91-92 was when it all started i think... The music, the little fellas, the whole scene... although 89-90 was banging, 92 i think is where it all came together..... Anyway, Orange at the palace next week.. yeeeahh... Chris Paul and co.... Randall will be missed xx
Yeah Slash is a dude...and GNR were awesome (although I wish they'd retire and stop performing now to be honest). Hope you have a gooden at Orange. It'll be banging no doubt 👊
So many classic timeless tracks. Dub War is a beast and just is that image & sound of the huge outdoor raves of 92. So many huge huge events held in 1992. It was the year of the Raves!! So many promoters. Universe , Book Of Love Amnesia,Fantazia events and The huge other massive ones like Galactica, world dance event! Lydd airport Obsession, Rezerection, Eurodance Andromeda & of course Castle Morton the enigma! while the charts were filled with the biggest dance floor anthems of that year. All Nighters every weekend all over the uk. Magical moments. Scotland crew we travelled down to Universe by bus. 15 hours to get there, 10 hours of madness 🕊️ then 13 hours back up to Scotland wired to the moon. 😋😳🤯. Excellent vlogs and your passion is wicked.
another great video Jake mate, I first heard dub war when I was 14 on a Dreamscape rave tape I collected. like I said before the best era of hard-core and definitely love the energy in all these tunes. I also enjoy going to the gym and listen to hard-core and old school jungle mixes on a regular basis as they motivate me. Also love the story about your mate and his imaginary car.
I saw Prodigy at Cambridge Sports Centre Feb 29 92. Classic all nighter. On the roof pilled up looking down on the police station opposite. You omitted another classic chart tune from 92 - Rebel MC Rich ah gettin Richer, definitely hardcore.
Oh Yes Oh Yes.... My DJ's Intense, He DJ's in tents....!!!! This was the year my good fellow.. Starting late 1991 (or early 1992...lol) at the Fantazia NYE at Westpoint, I think it was pretty much every weekend after that. We were very lucky as loads of the parties were held in the West Country and being from SN1 there was always something going on locally, spoilt really... Remember (God knows how) one weekend that we went to Universe 'In 2 Orbit' on the Friday and then from Saturday Morning to Monday afternoon (must've been a bank holiday weekend) at the free party in Lechlade (Spiral Tribe, Circus Warp & Bedlam...mental) Fantazia Summertime, Mythology, Perception, Dance Planet, countless Universe and Obsession parties to follow, what a year... f*cking amazing times.... Great mix and some great tunes, was surprised there was no Force Mass Motion tunes, but as you said there was so many tunes, a veritable tsunami of vinyl washing over us adrenaline rave tune junkies. Keep up the good work and i'll get that mixcloud link to you soon, just doing a bit of maintenance on the mixes at the mo. See you on the dancefloor brother...☺
Ha ha...hello Jamie mate 👊 Yeah sounds like you were well and truly doin' the do at that time. Force Mass Motion would've sat comfortably in there for sure...but I wanna do a mix of just Mike's stuff on it's own at some point. Yes, send me over the Mixcloud whenever your ready 👊

Ha mate 🙏 Cheers for sharing your memories, thoughts and stories there. Some not-so-subtle drops there with Fauci GOF etc... I hear ya 👊....but I'm not opening that can of worms here 😂
Bringing back some memories there! It was a fantastic time. Everything was brand new. Sounds never heard before! We were so lucky to have been there and witnessed it. The only one issue was, all the DJs were playing the same tunes until it all started to splinter into the different genre we have today. You could leave the floor come back 2 hours later and the same tune would be playing, which was a proper head f#@k 😂😂. Good times. I would've been a rocket scientist today if I hadn't left half my brain in the early 90s. 😂😂
Ha 😆 When I was in the 5th year of secondary school I wanted to be a pilot... By the time I was halfway through Sixth Form that plan had gone to total rat shit 😂
Funnily enough, the first time I heard Dub wars was at the universe rave in Bath. I can still remember that I was talking to a friend. And when we heard it drop both of us just feel silent and legged it to the dance floor. And as I recall it was played a lot that night. 😁😁. Great tunes, looking forward to the whole mix.
What an episode!! I LOVE 92! The tunes were exceptional. Glad you liked the slipmats mate. They look great. Derriscott and myself produced a 1992 30th anniversary series on Mixcloud for his radio show. Funnily enough it was called The Golden Year Of Rave. Also did a Fantazia Summertime episode to celebrate 30 years since that awesome event. Looking forward to the full mix mate. PLUR to you and all viewers. Big love ♥️🙏
This is a brilliant vid, really well put together and the tunes were ace, ending on arguably the best hardcore tune of 92 for me. I was a couple of years too young to frequent any of those raves, but I was regularly listening to Stu Allan on Piccadilly Key 103. Fond memories indeed. Thanks again pal, just what I needed.
Your series hits me in so many ways: - Memories! - Lack of memories! - The love of my music collection - my wallet in chasing some on Discogs and where and can justify it - my heart in realising I missed a repress - my heart when I relent I buy digital when I find it on iTunes!! Big ups!!🎉🎉
Absolute quality mate. Only a recent follower but loving your work. My dad has terminal cancer and from spending a nice but tough night with him I could come home and listen to such a great mix that meant a, lot to me. Credit it to you my friend and I'm sure these videos help + provide immense enjoyment and nostalgia 😊😊
@@rave-vinyl-reminiscenceCheers for the kind words. You are a proper sound gent 👍 Loving the journey back into the greatest musical era in history and looking forward to many more excellent videos 👌👌
You do a grand job of taking us back. Thanks for that! So glad I lived it. 92 was the best year IMO. In Belfast the terror gangs got in on the scene in 93 and the "innocence" was lost. I do think 93 was the best year for music though.
I met Acen at Sterns he had just made Trip to the moon part 2. I just started chatting to this guy at the back of the room. Anyway I didn’t know who he was but he said I’m here to listen to a tune I have just made. He was really nice and a few minutes later he stopped chatting and said this is my tune as it dropped in. Fucking amazing tune and as expected I totally lost my shit when the moon raker sample dropped in.
Jake! Just finished watching your vid. WOW! First time watcher. The rave scene is a massive part of who you are! Who I am and I believe plenty of others feel the same way. All we had was love for each other ( certain substances ) helped for sure but we were free and you’ve captured the heart of the rave movement for sure ❤ Loved to have met you back in the day 🤜🤛 The early 90’s was our 60’s. Peace and love brother ❤ Keep on Ravin!!
Hey mate how you doing 👊 Thanks for that lovely comment. Really glad you found the channel and connected with the video. Hopefully the many other episodes in the archive hit home for you too😊. Love and respect to you my friend ❤️
They year i left school. I can still remember the day and place I first heard dance music for the first time . I love old school hardcore great work well done ❤❤
Wicked selection there mate so many happy memories, such a same though the rave era was abruptly ended so soon and replaced with that low vibe jungle drum & base rubbish.
Urban Hype - I Feel the Heat is special for me. Those school bells set me off BITD. Summer of 92' ravin and misbehavin as a mad lad changed me forever. All these tracks were absolute bangers though Jake especially Dub War.🎷 the vocals, synthy stabs into drums, that bass...masterpiece. Hope everyone is doing well ❤. Keep working out if you are able, we need it at our age just don't over do it when listening to all these amazing tunes lol.
As always great tunes, 100% agree dub war is up there with the very best of them. The engergizer series was pure class.Surprised you never droped M-D-emm Get down another epic tune.92 so many amazing tunes and just not enough friday and saturday nights in the week to go to all them raves we was blessed with.edit think get down was 91 😧
Dream finder think it was Top Buzz I heard play it first such a trippy tune - Ratty at Mythology 1992 in Thame is where it all started for me Love the memories your invoking in your vids Jake ✌️😊😊
That piano section of "total feeling" gives me mad goosebumps every time, can only imagine how intense that must have been at a rave 🤯 Thanks for this pre-Xmas treat Jake, what a great way to start December 💪🏻
Top notch episode again Jake..brought back a mountain of memories & just pure vibes. Amazing how all of these tunes have personal attachments to them & 32 years later mean so much to us all. Great times, i just loved getting mashed & raving. Much Respect as ever & look forward to the full mix dropping 👊🏻
@@rave-vinyl-reminiscence I'm on the same page as you there my friend 👍🏻 these tunes have stood the test of time & the more I spin them in my old age 😁, my love for them & others from the golden era grows ever fonder 👊🏻
Ah man, such a good video, your story telling and spot on vocabulary is 👌👌 '92 definitely the year for my mates and I: Discovering Sterns, 1st allnighters both indoors (Dance 92) and outdoors ( The Book of Love), seeing Prodigy and Altern 8 at The Event, several Fantazias, Vision etc I actually organised a coach trip from Eastbourne to Castle Donnington from my friend Claires clothing shop, KISS! Such a golden time ❤🎵🤪👊
Excellent video Jake, loved it. Maybe your best yet ! I never picked up on that guitar piece from the Jem 77 track being taken directly from the Welcome To The Jungle intro until you pointed it out ! Awesome, thanks so much.
Brilliant Jake .. great tunes wonderful stories fantastic memories and blinding mixes i'm smiling away watching and listening to your amazing content ....Thank you
Jake, another masterpiece, just like Dub War, a perfect summary of ‘92, wished I’d done more looking back. Maybe some of those crazy nights in Scotland at the Metro which I keep seeing on my socials. I love ‘I feel the heat’, the Trumpton mix comes in for a bit of stick though 😂
Lovein this chanal 😂😂 Some proper 92 bangers in there. I have about half of them on wax myself 😊 megadrive , pure intention ( on formation records) never gets the credit it deserves, just saying 😂😂😂😂
Track selection is first class .listening to you talk and share is great its like having a proper mate who was with ya there at the time. Just knowing that soon your gonna drop this mix is gonna make this week a bit easier to get through 👍
Nice memories Jake.I was at all the big Fantazia raves. The one step beyond was a weird one.I remember some nutter telling me loads of riot police had stormed the rave on the other side because 2 manchester gangs were battling it out inside.Total paranoid bollox but funny looking back 😅
Hi mate. Steve from Jem 77 here. Loving your work!
Big up....I bought 'Never Felt This Way' BITD!
@@breakfreak3181nice one
Steve sir...thank you for tuning in 👊
Gratitude to you for your important musical contributions...and the smiles you continue to bring 👊❤️
Hey Steve. I second what Jake said. Thank you for creating a corker of a tune❤ Where can I buy the record ?
Big up Steve thanks for all the great tunes over the years. 🙌
I only started raving in 92 when I was old enough to drive. Wish I started earlier, but it is what it is.
What I would do to go back to those times!
Yeah I'm with you there mate.
I don't wish to be that age again, but I'd love to be dropped back into that time. 👊❤️
😁👊❤️
Totally Agree Dub Conspiracy Dub War absolute Classic.
Yeah it's an amazing tune. Picked it up a few months ago.
1992 was a great year I remember it well. I'm still a raver now at 52. I went to a drum and bass night with Fabio and Grooverider not long ago. I might grow up one day. YOU KNOW THE SCORE HARDCORE

Trip to Trumpton is such a tune. Amazing that tunes like this and the prodigy were being rinsed at raves in 92 despite them being big in the charts.

- Lack of memories!
- The love of my music collection
- my wallet in chasing some on Discogs and where and can justify it
- my heart in realising I missed a repress
- my heart when I relent I buy digital when I find it on iTunes!!
Big ups!!🎉🎉
Ha 😆 glad to be hitting hard in so many good ways my friend 👊❤️❤️
The lip reminder.. 🤣 remember that look on his face when he saw it 😂😂
😆 yeah mate...it was brutal 🤣
Dream Finder is the best song of '92.
Cheese
Still gives me a cheeky little rush
Pennywise for me
@@nathanbell6962 That would be toy town tunes
Absolute quality mate. Only a recent follower but loving your work. My dad has terminal cancer and from spending a nice but tough night with him I could come home and listen to such a great mix that meant a, lot to me. Credit it to you my friend and I'm sure these videos help + provide immense enjoyment and nostalgia 😊😊
Sending love to your dad ..and to you and your family Steve mate ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for being here and for connecting with the journey. All the best pal 👊
@@rave-vinyl-reminiscenceCheers for the kind words. You are a proper sound gent 👍 Loving the journey back into the greatest musical era in history and looking forward to many more excellent videos 👌👌
@@SteveStanley-o2x 🙏👊❤️
You do a grand job of taking us back. Thanks for that! So glad I lived it.
92 was the best year IMO. In Belfast the terror gangs got in on the scene in 93 and the "innocence" was lost. I do think 93 was the best year for music though.
Thanks mate 👊
Well..in some ways I have to agree with you, just based on the fact that so many other favourites of mine came out in 93 ❤️
Some absolute beauties in there.
😊❤️
I met Acen at Sterns he had just made Trip to the moon part 2. I just started chatting to this guy at the back of the room. Anyway I didn’t know who he was but he said I’m here to listen to a tune I have just made. He was really nice and a few minutes later he stopped chatting and said this is my tune as it dropped in. Fucking amazing tune and as expected I totally lost my shit when the moon raker sample dropped in.
Ah mate that's a cool story. You just described a BIG moment there 🙏😎❤️
Dunno how I've never heard the skanna track before, love it. I know john from his prog house tracks and didnt know how far back he went.
Yeah his hardcore stuff is awesome 👊
Hey mate how you doing 👊
Thanks for that lovely comment. Really glad you found the channel and connected with the video. Hopefully the many other episodes in the archive hit home for you too😊.
Love and respect to you my friend ❤️
Great video mate 👍🏼 indeed 1992 was magical for hardcore & Jungle techno
🙏❤️
They year i left school. I can still remember the day and place I first heard dance music for the first time . I love old school hardcore great work well done ❤❤
Thanks mate 👊
Wicked selection there mate so many happy memories, such a same though the rave era was abruptly ended so soon and replaced with that low vibe jungle drum & base rubbish.
Yeah it was evolving so quickly ❤️
Thank you Jake!
And thanks for being here 👊❤️
Urban Hype - I Feel the Heat is special for me.
Yeah I Feel The Heat is quality !!!
Cheers mate...and yes, the working out has been a stable part of my life since I was a teenager...so important 🙏👊
Don fm !
Good times bruvvah
Good times

Big up the nasty v aka Vernon langhorne
As always great tunes, 100% agree dub war is up there with the very best of them. The engergizer series was pure class.Surprised you never droped M-D-emm Get down another epic tune.92 so many amazing tunes and just not enough friday and saturday nights in the week to go to all them raves we was blessed with.edit think get down was 91 😧
I'll have to look it up and check...great tune though 👊❤️
Some fantastic tunes there! I would have swapped out Acen’s “Close your eyes” for “Trip II The Moon (Part 3.) 👍
Yeah that's a timeless classis...it'll show up in a future mix for sure 👊
Dub War had me goosebumpin, first time hearing it as well, thanks for a fantastic episode Jake 🙏
Cheers mate 👊❤️
Dream finder think it was Top Buzz I heard play it first such a trippy tune - Ratty at Mythology 1992 in Thame is where it all started for me Love the memories your invoking in your vids Jake ✌️😊😊
Cheers Dave 👊❤️❤️
Great tunes esp Dub War, Hardcore Rhythm Team/Ragga Clash was always a favourite amongst my mates in ‘92 👊
👊❤️
That piano section of "total feeling" gives me mad goosebumps every time, can only imagine how intense that must have been at a rave 🤯
Thanks for this pre-Xmas treat Jake, what a great way to start December 💪🏻
Yeah that's a cracker over a big system 😎
just in time for Christmas::)
Monday is the best day for these vids mate! Dub Wars ! ☄️🌏
😊👊❤️
Top notch episode again Jake..brought back a mountain of memories & just pure vibes. Amazing how all of these tunes have personal attachments to them & 32 years later mean so much to us all. Great times, i just loved getting mashed & raving. Much Respect as ever & look forward to the full mix dropping 👊🏻
Cheers Andy. Yeah what amazes me is that I think I actually adore these tunes ever more now than I did then. Which is going some.
@@rave-vinyl-reminiscence I'm on the same page as you there my friend 👍🏻 these tunes have stood the test of time & the more I spin them in my old age 😁, my love for them & others from the golden era grows ever fonder 👊🏻
@andyh1917 Yeah we appreciate them more now for sure ❤️
Quality video, thanks for sharing some fantastic tunes and memories.
Thanks mate 👊❤️
Hardcore changed in the second half of 92, got too fast and dark, 91 was the golden year imo. Happy days 💊🕺
Yeah great year 91 👊
There were some amazing tracks produced in 93 that I adore though ❤️
totally on point jake, respect 👊
👊❤️
Dave Charlesworth..... that guy, where is he hes a ledge, all the energizers and his other stuff, its all gold
Yeah lots of great stuff from him 👊
Ah man, such a good video, your story telling and spot on vocabulary is 👌👌
'92 definitely the year for my mates and I:
Discovering Sterns, 1st allnighters both indoors (Dance 92) and outdoors ( The Book of Love), seeing Prodigy and Altern 8 at The Event, several Fantazias, Vision etc
I actually organised a coach trip from Eastbourne to Castle Donnington from my friend Claires clothing shop, KISS! Such a golden time ❤🎵🤪👊
Excellent man 🙏 and here we are still mate...loving it, although bouncing a little slower these days 😆
Excellent video Jake, loved it. Maybe your best yet ! I never picked up on that guitar piece from the Jem 77 track being taken directly from the Welcome To The Jungle intro until you pointed it out ! Awesome, thanks so much.
Thanks mate 👊
Yeah it's such an interesting choice of sample hey...but works so well.
Dub war my favorite
Lovely episode mate, top top class as always..
Thanks mate 🙏❤️
Brilliant Jake .. great tunes wonderful stories fantastic memories and blinding mixes i'm smiling away watching and listening to your amazing content ....Thank you
Hey Darren mate hope you're good 👊❤️
Glad you enjoyed this one 😊
Jake, another masterpiece, just like Dub War, a perfect summary of ‘92, wished I’d done more looking back. Maybe some of those crazy nights in Scotland at the Metro which I keep seeing on my socials.
I love ‘I feel the heat’, the Trumpton mix comes in for a bit of stick though 😂
Ha yeah the Trumpton track is not quite as tasteful 😆
Thanks for the nice comment mate ❤️
Lovein this chanal 😂😂 Some proper 92 bangers in there. I have about half of them on wax myself 😊 megadrive , pure intention ( on formation records) never gets the credit it deserves, just saying 😂😂😂😂
Cheers mate 👊
Yeah I just listened to that Megadrive tune after reading this. It's not one I've pulled out at all over the years...it's good though 👍
some propper old skool bangers there brother brings me back too dreamscape love it espically ceesefire and close your eyes
Yeah beauties 😊❤️
Bad Boy Come Again!!
😎❤️
Big shout out to the Universe crew ✌️💛
(((((Hello!!!)))))
Nice and easy lemon squeezy💃💫🕺
Great video jake. Classic tunes 😊
👊❤️
Track selection is first class .listening to you talk and share is great its like having a proper mate who was with ya there at the time. Just knowing that soon your gonna drop this mix is gonna make this week a bit easier to get through 👍
Thank you mate 👊
Lovely to have you here to share it all with 🙏
I think you'll enjoy the full mix of this one...it kicks 😁😎
Mate thought he was changing a car tyre once. Him and yours would of made a good double act 😂😂
😂 the chill out area would've looked like a bloody MOT centre.
Nice memories Jake.I was at all the big Fantazia raves. The one step beyond was a weird one.I remember some nutter telling me loads of riot police had stormed the rave on the other side because 2 manchester gangs were battling it out inside.Total paranoid bollox but funny looking back 😅
Ha 😆 that was a buzz shifter 😆
Must say also, you must have the only turntables I know that holds its pitch perfect!!😂
A combination of well maintained decks ... and 800 obsessive attempts 😂
Another banging set mate!! Last tune absolute anthem and goosebumper ❤️
So good that one hey...loads of great memories ❤️
My breakfast turns into an hour long affair when you drop a new video 😂 it’s just oats and eggs ffs
😂👊❤️
