- The college football game between South Dakota State and South Dakota had an insane ending as South Dakota threw a hail mary on the final play of the game to stun the Jackrabbits. South Dakota State had the ball with eight seconds left and a 20-17 lead. It was fourth down and they attempted to run the clock out, but the play ended with one second left. From 57 yards out, South Dakota had a chance to win with a hail mary... and they did just that. The ball was deflected multiple times before landing in the hands of a South Dakota receiver in the end zone. South Dakoat won the game 23-20 over South Dkota State on the final play.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t think I’d have 3 videos on my channel involving South Dakota State this season but here we are.
The Dakota schools are absolute hidden treasures for people who know about them

The guy with the crutches was cured by the Hail Mary!
If he sued somebody over his injury, his lawyer freaked when he saw him running!
Lmaooooo
Miracles do happen 🥰🤣
He got some splaining to do...
Nice comment 👍🏼
Doctor: "Now listen, you have to absolutely stay off that leg. Unless of course SD wins on the last play of regulation."
I was laughing at that for so long😂
My man was carrying his crutches! Lol. I was expecting him to turn heel like he was in the WWE and crack someone over the head with it.
“It’s a miracle. I’m healed!”
@@brianarbenz1329 Hail Mary will do that to you.
He runs out, and camera pans to him, he starts limping.
I’m in the South Dakota marching band and all I can say is this game was absolutely wild.
We played the fight song four times straight louder than we ever have before. I’m still shaking from it.
And as a Bison fan, we thank you.
Gonna have to hate you next weekend, though.
And we will hate you next week aswell. but one thing we can agree on is the gold star marching bands gonna have a hell of a show
I was in the NDSU marching band and we were along when we won at Iowa in 2016, the feeling of winning a big game at the last second is intense, either a big road game or an intense rivalry game at home.
Yo whattup colby
You know it’s a big time ending when 4 fight songs get played and the cheerleaders hugging each other on the sideline from the thrill of victory

Hopefully his insurance adjuster wasn't watching 😳
"Knock it down? No way. This INT is going to look sick on my stat line." -- Every SDST defensive back on that last play
Maybe #6 went for an INT, everyone else tried to knock it down.
Still don’t understand how DBs allow this to happen.
Exactly what #6 was thinking. Back fired, now scouts gonna see this everywhere and remember #6.
@@rynoX88 happens in the NFL more than you think too
It's like that sick interception that one player made, I believe it Oklahoma, earlier in the year but it was fourth down. They lost like 30 yards on the pick when he could have just knocked it down.
Even the dude on crutches runs out onto the field 😅
an intentional safety looks genius right now
Yes, just take the snap and run backwards
Damn right
I'm surprised South Dakota State didn't just do that. Take the safety and win by 1. John Harbaugh in the NFL would have had his team do just that.
@@AEMoreira81 prolly wouldve ruined that kids rushing yards
@@lukedaduke3533 then throw it just before getting to the endzone
I never thought I'd see a crazier Hail Mary after that 2013 Nebraska/Northwestern game but here we are
Dude there is like a Hail Mary from a Wisconsin MSU game from like 2012 or 2011 and it’s a wild ending I was like seven and I remember it it was the craziest thing I’ve seen live
Tbh I’m really glad you cover lower classification games that was a crazy Hail Mary too drill and definitely worth showing!
Absolutely! PSC has graced us with hilights I never would’ve seen otherwise. Quality stuff
Missouri valley games are never low class! I needed SDSU to win for seeding for my SIU but this was an insane play. Respect
THIS, is why I only watch college ball! It has everything the NFL used to have. These young men play with heart and for the team, not got millions of dollars that often destroy their lives. The excitement of these kind of plays makes college ball the best! Congrats on a great and well played game. Just great ball!!!!!
"I like it when labor is robbed of their hard earned money!", remains the most consistently shitiest take anyone has ever uttered.
Craziest game I've ever seen in person, the energy was unreal.
@Justin Ortner nobody was ready for it, and SDSU was on their feet. The place just erupted when it happened.
@Vivek Verma Home of unimportant things like Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the black hills national park, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the nation. Yeah it's pretty great, why do you ask?
@Vivek Verma Name one state that can keep somebody busy for a life bro, I'll wait😂
@Vivek Verma state shaming is so lame bro
@Vivek Verma but honestly bro yeah Im getting out of here the second I can
It's nice to know that guy can walk again and doesn't need crutches anymore! Never seen so many people cheering for such a miracle.
Ever since that Michigan-Michigan State game everybody's afraid to punt in these late game 4th down situations but it still is usually the wise thing to do. Punt it for a touchback and that ball is on the 25 instead of the 45, making a Hail Mary impossible.
Who was the guy running while holding crutches 😂
"I'M CURED!!!"
I seent that too right after that guy in black took an elegant tumble.
At the 1:00 mark - good catch!
South Dakota should totally start a rivalry with UTSA. Coyotes vs Roadrunners would be an instant classic just from the team nicknames!
Petition to have this be a bowl game.....
This is genius
When you catch the last second game winning touchdown but random guy with crutches steals your one moment in time.
I love how even SDST fans are clapping... they just witnessed a football miracle. I’m sure there is a little salt there but they seem to respect that play.
As a Michigan fan, there hasn’t been a play in football this year that has given me an adrenaline rush quite like that one.
I agree! Sometimes it just doesn't matter. A miracle happens against my program? Gonna clap anyway, that was a hell of a play, lol
Gave the guy with the crutches an adrenaline rush too.
SDSU*
rip Kentucky fans that were set to rush the field at the Bluegrass Miracle
The girl flipping the bird to the other South Dakota folks at 1:22 😂😂
Why would the QB not just run as fast as he could to the back of the endzone?
That’s ironic, because SDSU actually took an intentional safety last week in the win against NDSU
Lack of situational awareness
@@mmbm6279 probably lack of good coaching
Probably both
@@mpenna02 maybe gets run down by a linebacker who's blitzing that's why
4th and 1 for South Dakota State with 8 seconds left leading by 3 points. There are so many better options than what they did. Just go for it. You have a great chance of getting the first down. Or punt out of the end zone. You might use up 8 seconds. But worst case they have one play from the 20 yard line. Or have your QB run backwards to his own end zone and instruct all of your players to tackle all of the defenders until the time runs out. If they get called for holding it’s no big deal because the game will be over. The worst choice is to try and throw an incomplete pass that uses only 7 seconds. Dumb decision.
Literally just have the QB scramble around for 8 seconds
Does college football have a rule like the NFL where multiple fouls result in a game-clock reset? In the NFL, in 2016, down 7 with about 15 seconds left, John Harbaugh tried something like that where he had his punter creep back to the end zone and had everyone hold a Bengal...the intentional safety gave Baltimore a 19-14 win, but the play was so ingenious that it was outlawed after the season.
@@AEMoreira81 I would think just a very high punted ball would take 8 secs off the clock.
@@AEMoreira81 That tactic had been used for decades. The NFL outlawed for some reason.
@@AEMoreira81 They created an "unfair act" where if you do something so blatant then the Referee can basically do whatever he wants to fix it. They're instructed to put time back on the clock when that happens and charge everyone that held with unsportsmanlike penalties.
the face of the Jackrabbits fan at 2:28 clapping begrudgingly 😂
she looks okay with it until the camera operates pans on her.
She looks salty AF 🤣💀
Wow. Incredible.
Kudos to the South Dakota State fan at the end clapping. Good sportsmanship
Yep. Saw that. Very classy.
The guy with crutches had me rofl
@1:00 anybody else see the kid running with crutches? That TD healed his injury 😂
That one cheerleader on the sideline want even cheering. She was too much in shock 😂
0:58 Hail Mary's really do heal the sick.
That's why "it's never over 'til it's over".
As a Bison fan this makes me smile. Should be a good game next week with USD coming to town to finish out the season.
Going to be a tough game. I don't think this was much of an upset.
Unless they review every clock stoppage during the game I don’t think the last play should ever be reviewable for an expired clock
Craziest back to back plays I've ever seen. Looking back,
South Dakota State should have just run around for another second.
Awesome finish!
This was crazy to watch live
I’m jealous
How damn sad is that these "lower end" college football teams have incredible tv coverage with actual HD quality video and replay vs so many Division 1 teams.
Who ever thought the biggest play of the day would have happened in a game that nobody was watching. This is why love college football
🤣🤣🤣
This as why as a DB you NEVER should try to catch the ball on the last play like this. ALWAYS knock it down.
The most unbelievable part of this for me is not the fact that the Hail Mary pass was completed, as that happens on occasion. What was truly astonishing was that it was fourth and one, and SDSU had a numbers advantage in the box. All they had to do was gain a single yard, and the game was over. The option they chose was riskier, and their QB needed to keep the ball in the field of play, but he couldn't do that, so they turned it over. The setup to the ending was more astonishing than the ending, b/c South Dakota never should have had the ball to begin w/.
John Harbaugh showed how that's done in the NFL...send in additional linemen and rush the ball. That said, the best way to not give the ball back...is to go 55 yards the wrong way for an intentional safety with the punt team.
Dude running with crutches just lost his "Disability Claim"

It's games like this, that remind me why I love football.
love too see this for these guys, I worked with the yotes strength and conditioning staff over the summer so I know a lot of those guys personally!
Would Michigan, Alabama or USC cheerleaders recognize the play that quickly?
What's even crazier is how they got the last play in the first place. Unreal.
1:00 wow it’s a miracle! He can walk again!
I got the Doug Flutie highlight going on in my head just like this oh my god this is why college football is more exciting than NFL
At first I thought this was Arena Football... This Stadium is Awesome!!
Love how the Fans are right there close to the field...
It was renovated last year! Just in time for a good turnaround in the USD football program.
Even the SD State fans were clapping. What an amazing ending
That Hail Mary healed the dude on crutches
00:58 The dude with the crutches was so happy he wasa suddenly healed and up and running around. Praise the Lord
How nice for the entire state of South Dakota to show up
What an amazing catch, receiver at the right spot, at the right time! Now that was some great football game!
0:46 - What do you do when the ball’s in the air?
- You knock it down!
I like how those first few guys are not chasing and hugging the player who actually caught the ball 🤣🤣🤣
I'm almost more shocked by how calmly the SD State fans in the crowd accepted this outcome. 2:28
I agree. They are true champions.
I've actually seen this happen before. In 1987 when the 49ers vs Bengals and Cincy tried to run out the clock on 4th down to seal the win but they left 1 second on the clock. Next play, Joe Montana hit Jerry Rice with a Hail Mary to win it. I hope to find a video to that game somewhere on RUclips. Incredible play by South Dakota!
NFL Throwback might be your best bet
I found it! ruclips.net/video/rbUBNzb1Xuw/видео.html
The guy in the cructesh just got healed by that play 😂😂😂😂
That's up there with the wind blown field goal during an Ole Miss, Mississippi State game for amazing endings.
What a great sense of awareness by Webb! That’s just impressive.
How about the guy with the crutches though! Lol
That dude with the crutches doesn’t need them. Just saying 😂
Actually he did. I think the "Hail Mary" healed him. Arf, arf, arf......
You all had me in tears, thanks this comment section made my night.
Wow. Best/Wildest ending of the year. Makes you wonder why they didn't punt there...
Right? QB should have just sprinted straight back for a safety or until zero shows up on clock.
"Fuck it, Hopkins down there somewhere."
Ol' boy with the crutches, might lose his workman's comp! LMAO! 💀
An ending like this why college football, and basketball, are the greatest sports on earth. Full stop.
He could have taken a safety to run off the clock and still win the game, but he did that...
This is a prime example of why the ball must NEVER be thrown on 4th down at the end of the game. It’s how the other team can get an untimed down (or 1 second left in this particular game) to potentially throw a Hail Mary and win the game. A play like this could also lead to an intentional grounding penalty.
Great ending! South Dakota Congratulations on a Fantastic Win! Also Congratulations to South Dakota State! Tough loss. This is why college football is so fun, never give up and so many exciting games! Thank you for sharing these ending.
Number 35 of SDS kept the ball alive, slapping it up in the air, right to the guy that scored.
Jimmy V. never never ever quit! You have to love sport.
One of the most amazing finishes I've ever seen.
Damn I love college football! (and I know nothing about either of these teams). What a finish!
The fact that north Dakota was at home makes it so much bettet! The students going crazy, this is definitely going to be the talk of the school all week long! What a great moment

What thee HELL are you talking about?
Been in church 56 years never saw someone healed of a broken leg that fast It’s A Miracle thank ya JeZuz
35 learned in the most painful way why the coaches always said “bat the ball down!”
Hahaha! Yesterday you delivered that crazy buzzer beater and now this. Great work, my friend! Keep bringing the crazy hilights. We’ll never get tired of it
This Is Like The Michigan State Wisconsin Hail Mary from 2011
I’m kinda obsessed with how pumped the cheerleaders were. I feel like South freaking Dakota is one of the few places in the country where the cheerleaders are *that* invested in the outcome.
Usually, they’re just cheering at anything that looks remotely exciting or when they’re told, without much enthusiasm; relatively speaking, for someone whose on job is to cheer. But those girls were absolute hypebeasts.
The cheerleading squad had the best seat in the house for that play! It was so cool watching them go batshit crazy when Webb made that catch!
0:59 The excitement literally cured a crippled man. Wow
That's insane that was the best ending right there wow
KU fan here. This is why you love football. Just maybe, just maybe the next to impossible can happen.
I can’t remember a more exciting South Dakota-South Dakota State ending!
Today I learned there are atleast two college football programs in SD. Amazing ending.
Can't wait for the North South Dakota and South North Dakota rivalry game.

That’s just insane. What an ending!
Those FCS schools be having some lit stadiums. This is why even if I was a five-star athlete coming out of high school, I probably would have went to a FCS School
NDSU has a really cool one as well. South Dakota has a pretty cool one as well. Same for Idaho.
@@cityhawk have you seen Eastern Washington's stadium?

As Chris Berman used to say on the hail marys on the NFL recap show, "KNOCK IT DOWN!!!!" Instead they hit it up and it cost them the game.
South Dakota State could have sent out the punt team and had the punter run backwards toward the end zone until he took a safety with no time left. Game over, SD State wins 20-19.
0:59 dude with the crutches forgot he was faking an injury, lol
Final play was so good his injuries were healed
Don't see Astro turf used much anymore. Nice throwback!
Is it just me or are there a LOT of upsets this year to ranked teams compared to normal?
And here I thought the first thing defensive coaches taught was to ALWAYS bat down a Hail Mary pass, never try to catch it.
Oh look! The entire population of South Dakota came to the game!
And THAT life lesson, ladies and gentlemen is why you should NEVER give up.
Thus far, that TD hasn't appeared on Jeremiah Webb's stats. It is shown on #13's who was running around with the football in the celebration.
I am loving the comment section just over the guy with the crutches lmao. It’s been a while since I have laughed _that_ hard ngl; just seeing home boy burst-sprinting whilst carrying crutches Omg you can’t write this stuff. So so funny. Crazy ending though to be sure. Was funny too watching the cheerleaders reaction on that last play. One of em was like, literally on the back of another clutching onto her in sheer nervousness lolol. Great game boiis
Why is the State QB flinging the ball downfield like that? Last week in Cleveland, a 39-year old, mostly immobile, knees-have-seen-better-days Ben Roethlisberger was able to kill the final 7 seconds of the game by running around in the backfield and evading the Brownies' defenders (including All-Pro DL Miles Garrett).
You mean to tell me that this young, agile QB couldn't do the same?
Maybe worried some fast guy on the defense would catch him within fg range? Not really sure...
THE CRUTCHES ARE ON THE FIELD!
SDSU DB's blew it by going for an INT. You have to forcibly swat it downwards in that situation.
What a great finish!
1:00 it’s a Christmas miracle!!
