It’s most definitely up there. Another big FCS game you should check out is the Celebration bowl (HBCU National Championship). FCS football is on the rise

What a beat down after the game was tied at 7.
I studied at SDSU in the early 90’s. Back then NDSU had a solid football program whereas SDSU was trying to build a good one. NDSU usted to win the NCC on a regular basis , as well as the Division II. Well, finally SDSU defeated NDSU in a big game. This outcome made my day!

Happy for SDSU. Last time they came to Frisco they lost to Sam Houston. Redemption! Also really cool to beat their rival and end their perfect FCS Championship streak.
I got recruited by both these teams out of hs and went to their junior days. I was really bummed I didn’t get offered by either. Really great programs.

Love the FCS. A lot of players because of Stereotyping don't get recruited by the FBS. They come and show all of us they are just as good.

I can’t be to upset or disappointed when we’ve been through this feeling 9 out of 11 years, it was bound to happen to South Dakota sooner or later. Definitely being down 8 players hurt us and new if we were to do it again we would have to scrap for it unlike previous years. Congrats to the Jacks and definitely looking forward to our rematch next year, I know 2023 Bison will be motivated!

I live in Fargo and attended NDSU and this made my year. Nice to see the bison brought back to earth.

@@Huna98 thanks Davis. Maybe someday I’ll drive there to just visit. I’m from Canada, it once passed through northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Pretty nice where I went through, and northern Michigan.
@@chr970 I grew up in Fargo and really like it (live in Houston now). Would definitely be worth a weekend trip if it’s not too far away. Only way it’d be depressing and miserable is if you hate the long cold winters, which I’m assuming wouldn’t be too hard on a Canadian
@@julianrosas9134 thanks Juliana. Yes it looks nice, and I don’t mind winters haha. Spent a year in northern Manitoba,... really cold but it was a dry cold as they say so if dressed it’s not bad. Being from Nova Scotia, the winters are actually fairly mild,...but damp,...the wind and chills stays right with you. But summers are great! I would assume Houston has it pluses as well. You can find good in just any area I think.😊

Honestly, I haven't even heard of the Jackrabbits until last Fall when my son attended DSU a few miles south of SDSU. I attended CU in Boulder in the 90's during the Coach Mac years and got to experience the joys of being national champs. Congrats to the Jackrabbits and all their fans! Enjoy your national champship.

The Dakota Marker has returned in this season again, but for the championship match in Frisco, TX in the Dallas side of the Metroplex. What's cool is in the 2nd quarter when the Jackrabbits have a big lead over the Bisons and kept their lead for long until the end.

@@tibora13, Collin County is just north of Dallas County. It's part of the Dallas Metropolitan Division. Fort Worth represents the west while Dallas represents the east.
The DFW Metroplex consists of 11 counties. 4 are in the Fort Worth side while 7 are in the Dallas side.

Considering how good SDSU was, and how they dominated very good teams like Montana St. and ND State in the playoffs, that makes Holy Cross's effort against them in the playoffs even more impressive. You can make the argument that Holy Cross was the only team in the playoffs that even gave them a hint of a challenge.

Why was this game played head to head with the last Sunday in the NFL season? That had to be one of the worst scheduling decisions ever. The prior Saturday gave them a noon window to play as the only game. I believe the NFL played two games that Saturday starting late.
Always thought Michigan had great helmets...but those Jackrabbit helmets are the Coolest...and Fun.

The word is that the MAC doesn't really want either team. It's one reason they are both still in FCS. That and the fact that NDSU has beaten mid-level Big 10 teams before.

Entertaining, but I noticed not a lot of defence in this and many other of the FCS playoff games. Who are some prominent defensive names that came from the FCS? Genuinely curious.
NDSU, SDSU, UNI, Montana, Montana State, EWU and Sacramento State to name a few.
SDSU held Montana State to 52 yards rushing in the semis. Adam Bock and Caleb Sanders likely will find themselves with a chance to play at the next level.
South Dakota State and TCU should play for 2nd place. After last night, I really think the Jackrabbits might stand a chance.

I remember going to NDSU camp when I was being recruited by them . No lie Another recruit came there wearing a SDSU shirt . At that time the running back for NDSU was John Crockett . He went up to the recruit and said you either gotta take that shirt off or wear it inside out . The recruit was cocky and was like no… let’s just see John got him to flip the shirt inside out or it was going to be some issues 😂😂😂😂😂

why is fcs for football consider d1 when in no other sport is fcs consider d1
Because no other sport splits D1 into Bowl Series and Championship Series. The "F" is for "Football" - meaning it is the only sport to which it applies. It used to be Div. 1-AA back in the 1990s and prior.
The other sports are considered D1. Villanova for instance is a FCS school, but they’ve won multiple National Championships in basketball beating out power 5 schools.
FBS and FCS is only a D1 football thing, hince the "F" meaning Football,
"B" meaning Bowl, "C" meaning Championship
"S" meaning Subdivision
fcs teams in football are mostly all regular d1 basketball programs, some of which are really good
