I got mine at the German Factory and then drove the Nurburgring. I recommend European Delivery as a great vacation. 242 laps on Ring, no crashes. It has 4 wheels and goes good.
Congratulations Marc. You have a very beatiful and personalized GTS. It will be impossible to see another like it. My chalk GTS that I ordered in January here in Spain where I live will arrive next week. Initially I thought of the PASM -10 mm suspension but later I decided to leave the PASM Sport -20 mm which I think is the one that yours has. I wonder if it is comfortable and also if the low ground clearance does not cause problems. Could you give me your opinion?
It is very comfortable, far more so than my ‘20 Mini Cooper S. I do not have any issues with clearance but I am always mindful if i see a steep incline
Bit difficult for me as in Australia. Currently have a 981s PDK but have a Black GTS 4.0l Manual on order with delivery in July. Have tracked the 981s and agree they are brilliant cars. My spec is just Guards Red Seatbelts and Guards Red Dials (inc Sports Chrono) - After Market Floor Mats with Guards Red Stitching and Clear wind deflector with Porsche Crest above and PORSCHE script below plus the extended Brushed Aluminium Leather Package. Finally cause it's Black Metallic the GTS script 4.0l on the doors is in Guards Red also. My advice to anyone buying any Porsche is be careful with the additions as dollars quickly add up. Aust orders for any Boxster / Cayman with ICE end in July.
Nice spec. I just ordered the 718 GTS 4.0. I couldn't get the ceramic brakes and upgraded led lights as due to part shortage, they are saving those for higher end models like Turbo S.
Don’t think it requires the 2000 miles below 4k RPMs as outlined in the manual. But the first 350 miles are very important for seating the rings, making use of the cross hatch in the bores, and letting the bearings break in. I would definitely keep below 5000 RPMs for the first 350 miles, constantly vary the RPMs/load, don’t drive extended distances on the highway, and don’t let it idle for a really long time. I would personally raise the RPMs gradually over the subsequent 350 or so miles and not redline it until you hit close to 1000 miles.
Marc, what do the US allocations for the '22 Cayman GTS 4.0 look like as of June 2022 from order to delivery? Are we talking four to six months, a whole year, etc? I was trying to hold out to see if the 2023 BMW Z4 M40i will come in a manual transmission. However, my BMW contact said he wouldn't know for sure until late September or early October.
Hello Marc, Thanks for all your videos, I have watched all from configuration and so on. I am waiting for my GTS 4.0 Boxster to arrive, ( should be Delivered now in late June/early July ) Its a EU Model ( Sweden ). I have purchased the Fabspeed Lightweight Comp, do you think that will be to noisy or its liveable? I have also purchased the Sound Symposer Delete Kit, do you know if that makes any difference? Love the spec and car Thanks
First of all thank you for sticking through the process of me getting my car Congratulations on your allocation I know that here in the US they are hard to find. My exhaust is liveable, very much so but I do notice a drone when i am driving under 2600 rpm. The sound sympoaser delete might get rid of any unwanted drone. Maybe i should look into this ;)
@@porscheswithmarc Hello Marc, So I’ve got my car and also installed the Fabspeed Lightweight Competition, which gives amazing sound to that flat6. But I have quite much drone at 2-3k rpm, using the pdk shift so I avoid it solves it but would be great if it’s possible to get the drone less. Have you investigated anything regarding how to reduce drone or regarding the sound symposer delete ? Br Phil
congrats, marc. it's beautiful. I'm still trying to decide on burmester vs bose. can you provide any insight? i love music too and have great audio at home but assume having a mid engine car means listening to the motor more instead...
I would always recommend the burmester. Bass is far more pronounced especially at louder volumes. You would be spending double the price difference just to get a similar bass production from the Bose system. Not to mention other nuances that burmester has over the Bose system
Hey Mark great review! I was torn between the GTS and the Spyder, your review definitely help sway me to the GTS. I live in NY, I’m getting delivery of my GTS in October, but would love to connect and see your car if possible. Thanks, Jean A
Hi Jean, Would love to connect! I am organising a Concours event this coming Sunday July 17th at Jack Daniels Porsche in New Jersey. Maybe we can meet up there?
Hey Mark thanks for responding, I’m working this Sunday but will try to make it depending on the time of the event and if not perhaps another event. What time will this one be over. Best, Jean A

One of the nicest specs I’ve ever seen! Amazing car. Waiting on mine for delivery… eta mid-March.
Thank you!
Beautiful car.. Considering going to my local Porsche dealership and purchasing the 718 GTS Boxster.
Don’t let me stop you. Send me the build, be happy to take a look at it for you!
Hey Marc, beautiful car. How much stiffer is the GTS with PASM 10mm than a regular 718?

Good review. You have me thinking about trading my 992 due to its size.
Thank you for the feedback Robert. I highly recommend giving the 718 a go at either your local dealer or at one of the Porsche experience centers
gorgeous car! currently looking at getting my first Porsche. base Cayman in Chalk as well. what phone mount is that?
You can use many, so many options. mine is a little convoluted
Awesome video! New to the channel, but will vicariously live through you and your GTS 4.0 until I can afford one
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you. Many many videos coming this year!
In the market for a GTS 4.0, would love to meet up in Northern NJ or NY and check yours out
Feel free to stop by the dealership at any point in time. Be gast though as the GTS 4.0 is about to be fazed out
NYC looks unreal. Love from a village in England.
The backdrop could be considered a little dramatic ;)
Please share links to the radar detector connection kit and the phone holder if you’re happy with that setup. Thx!
Uniden r7 and Uniden hard wire kit.
And MagSafe wireless charging system would work for any car. Very happy with the set up
All the Orange will make for a performance upgrade, will make for a track weapon and maybe increase lap times by < .0.0
Hey John, have been driving around the track and would love to hear what times you are putting down on which track to see how we compare

I just bought one. Could you please tell me your thoughts on the break-in period? 1K or 2K? RPM max? oil change? 500 mile? thank you
Congratulations and many safe miles first of all. I think one should let the engine warm up properly and then everything should be a OK.

I think it does, just to unlock the Porsche character a little bit more

Porsche would love to sell them. It is the governments that put a stop to it

Does installing the JCR exhaust void warranty?
My exhaust is from the Over Axle Pipe back and does not void the warranty.
