Old Machete Restoration -Mirror result.

Hi everyone, today I'm going to show you how I reconditioned an old machete.
The model was rusty and without a handle, without being sharp.
I cut the old rivets, then I put it in the blasting chamber to remove the rust, then I applied a rust removal solution.
I rubbed until I made the mirror, I made the edge and I made a handle from a special colored acacia.

Shiny is a must in restorations. I like to do my restorations as new as possible too. Some people like patina, I like shiny.
Mad work on the mirror polish.

I love rust reborn to a working tool. I think this is a cottage industry waitng to be found. How many times at a fle market or garage sale is there a bucket of rusted tools ? Too many to count. Restore the old stuff and screw the import crapola. Nice job. I have a machete from Brazil 30 years old +/- . It w ill slice paper,cards, sticks like a razor. .

@@GarageRestoration It has been a garden tool a trail clearing tool and in the hatch of the car. I have split wood for BBQ cut bread dug dandelions pried garlic shoots out of the ground sharpend stakes for the garden and the leather sheath it came with is dark tooled and intact. Good tools well cared for never pampered or abused. We like the same thing. New subscriber today good luck forward
