Welcome to Denver! This is my stomping grounds. I've been all over the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I just discovered your videos today, and I'm thoroughly enjoying them and all of the info you give. Keep the shiny side up!
Another great video!!!! Like they say there’s truck drivers and than there’s guys who drive a truck !!!! To many inexperienced steering wheel holders out there!!! Be safe!!!!!
This is a great video! I haven't done much mountain driving, so maybe a dumb question....but what gear do u have it in when u start down that grade? I did do quite often the "approach" into Albuquerque on i40 west bound. I loved it. When in the right gear it was like drifting on in smooth and easy! Is the one into Denver alot steaper?
HELLO BUDDY, I HAVE A QUESTION...I DON´T HAVE EXPERIENCE IN FLATBED BUT I WANT TO LEARN WHAT YOU DO AND MAKE GOOD MONEY...THAT IS MOST IMPORTANT THAT TO DRIVE A NICE TRUCK LIKE YOURS...DO YOU THINK THEY CAN GIVE ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE KAISER DRIVER?? I HAVE 13.5 YEARS DRIVING VAN, DOUBLES LINE HUAL IN ALL WEATHERS...DO THEY HAVE TRAINING FOR A DRIVER LIKE ME?? I WORK FOR FEDEX FREIGHT RIGHT NOW...
@Jason Merchant the Denver down hill gear depends on your load weight, trailer type, tranny gears, differential ratio, tractor weight, jake brakes and driver experience.
I hate that hill. Not cause of the hill, but cause of the idiots that fly past me going way too damn fast. *glares at mega-carriers* I don't think I have ever gone down that hill without smelling some dumb asses brakes.
Dude your video would have been more better if you put in the video some type of numbers on what gear you're in as you are splitting and shifting your highs and lows just saying
That guy there is a true professional!
I just did that mountain a few days ago he isn’t lying that stretch isn’t for the faint of hearts or new drivers
Thats right. Slow and steady wins the race on those mountain passes

It depends on the transmission, axle ratio, and how much weight you got pushing you. And yes, it's pretty damn steep.
@@femaleprofessionaldriver7650 and that is exactly why people like you need run away truck ramps. Have a great day.
pretty much 1 gear lower then you climbed it...just a general rule of thumb
great video keep safe out there
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Usual rule of thumb. What you climb the hill in. Is the gear you come down monitoring conditions of course. Is that same to say.
Great video... stay safe out there brother! Happy trucking
Keep trucking love the life open air and sunset down what else we want form god. Great video brother
I’ve been that mountain a many times you must be extremely careful always be in a low gear
the dump truck was smokin hot
m8 that was really good to see how you do that down hill run thks

You sound just like the late great Wolfman Jack! Howlllllllll
Still got the indicator on
Those are the hazards, as "indicated" in the video.😎
he has a radio voice forsure
drove 70 a bunch...its tough but once you know it i like it...ill always hate denver though ...ALLWAYS
I think some of the 4 wheelers feel they are in charge of controlling the big trucks speed which is not to smart. Good way to get killed
Was that the emfomouse donor pass
thats nevada to cali...this is going into denver
Which gear you use to go down the hill sir
Probably 15. That isn't for every scenario and definitely isn't for every truck or load. Know your truck and your trailer in these conditions.

i seen a guy from derka stan light his brakes on fire...like flames lol...crazy
Does this have a clutch
Yes
Clutch is only for stopping and going👍
If your road speed is too high, the truck may not shift into a lower gear, even with a double clutch.
Where did you do your time brother?
Barkatraz '99-04
Common sense 👍

I left that out intentionally so someone could complain about it in the comments.😄
