Jeff Cavins and Dr. John Bergsma for an hour and 20 minutes...woo hoo! Both of these guys are a wealth of knowledge on understanding what the Bible is truly saying to us! Jeff Cavins needs to re-name his Bible timeline series to "The Bible timeline for dummies!" Listening to these two guys helps make someone like me, an expert in Kitchen Table Theology! Thank you, and may God continue to bless you! ⚘️
The Gospel of John is also my favorite Gospel. I love that John tells us that he and Peter ran to the empty tomb, and that he, John, won the race, it just sounds so competitive. But that he respected Peter enough to allow him to enter the tomb first (John 20:3-6). And that he admits that he hadn't believed that Jesus would rise from the dead (John 20:8-9). The words that "he saw and believed" reflect everything he tells us about Jesus, from the changing of water into wine until the resurrection. And it's lovely that he tells us Mary Magdalene saw the resurrected Jesus first (John 20:14-16). John feels so much like the eyewitness that he was.

Thank you so much for these talks. I am so enjoying and learning so much from you and your guests. Thank you Dr for pointing out the similarities between the Tabernacle of our Church and that of the Egyptian Kings. Just a few months ago , I was on a tour of Egypt and trip down the Nile River. Upon my return , my parish priest asked me what impressed me about my journey. I was so taken on how the Old Testament rituals were similar to some of Ancient Egyptian Mythology. God really is amazing! Thank Jeff and Ascension Press for helping us grow in our faith and building the Kingdom of God. 🙏🙏🙏 Keep up the good work
I loved the Bible in a Year thank you for that Jeff Cavin and Fr. Mike. Also special thanks to Dr. Bergsma for presenting at the Basilica in Western New York, currently on Chapter 4 of Stunned by Scripture. Love it!
Thank you, both of you for reminding us cradle Catholics of the Old Testament and New Testament roots of both the Ministerial priesthood, and of the priesthood of all believers. ❤🧡
Fr. Bergsma’s teaching and explanation of the evolution of the priesthood is phenomenal -very informative and exciting. Thank you for bringing him on the program and thank you, Dr. Bergsma, for your scholarship which blesses us all.
this was impressive and fantastic. so humbling to walk in the shadow of people who grew so much in faith. thank you for producing this and im so happy you two are on our side! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Amazing show with amazing guests. And Jeff is brilliant in guiding the conversation in high level. I am totally hooked up. I wonder how can I ask questions to the next guests…
Mr. Cavins, could you teach in some interview more about the royal priesthood of the laity in connection to the offertory part of the liturgy which possibly is not that obvious any more. What I understand the ancient liturgies had an offertory during which the deacons gathered the offerings, wine, water and bread from among the people and the offering was carried to the altar in a procession. I would like to hear some biblical teaching of this. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship."
Doctor John Bergsma please come to the island of Hawaii to Pahoa on the big island to give a class on the Catholic faith, the church that I hope that you can contact is SACRED HEARTS IN PAHOA it’ll be very fruitful

Isaiah 66:18-21 21“Some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites(deacons) says the Lord.” “18 “For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory, 19 and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations. 20 And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the Lord, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord. 21 And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the Lord.”
“Once I see Ignatius of Antioch saying, 'Stay away from anyone who refuses to confess the Eucharist to be the Flesh of Our Savior Jesus Christ' - convicted.” [4:05] “The foundational premise, drawn from a wide testimony of the Fathers, is that human beings can be deified only through God's direct agency, only through having God himself dwelling effectively within them. The primary means for this divine indwelling are baptism and the Eucharist.” -Daniel A. Keating
Anyone??? So, who after Adam was named by God to continue the families priestly obligations, since Cain had killed his older Brother Abel, who would have been the priest after Adam?
But be not ye called teacher: for one is your instructor, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the assemblies, and the chief rooms at feasts; which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

This is so very helpful. How would you weave into this study a response to those who say “We don’t need a Priest when we can approach God ourselves.”?
Y en español cuando?😅
Is our Baptismal priesthood why we are called to bless others, our children, grandchildren, family, and friends?

Philippians 4:4 ❤
There was no list of Commands clearly relayed by God to His people before Moses?
Was it passed down by teaching through tradition?
Please remind me…
What did you say necessitates a priesthood?
“What is God's call specifically for me? When we discover it, we need to be faithful to it.” [1:13:00]
“Once I see Ignatius of Antioch saying, 'Stay away from anyone who refuses to confess the Eucharist to be the Flesh of Our Savior Jesus Christ' - convicted.” [4:05]

Where in the books of Acts are your so called priests ordained? Take the case of Matthias, was he ordained when he joined the college of apostles?

@@nanaioftwo ah…! So the apostles were not priests?
Then where’s the catholic priesthood from??
