I am a 48 mother and grandmother. I listened to the bible in a year. I got to day 34 when something clicked inside me. It led me to look into the church and look at the miracles that still happen today. I am currently in the RICA classes. I am looking forward to getting baptized this upcoming Easter.

I will soon be 87 years old & am doing Bible in a Year. An amazing journey after teaching religion for over 60 years to learn more each & every day. Next year Catachism in a year. You’re never too old to learn how great God is.
I am 78 and some years ago was begging God to let me come home because I was not learning anything new. Well, He showed me how wrong I was. In spite of health problems, I am now asking to please let me live longer so I could learn more to be as sure as I can be that I will be with Him for Eternity. Never know what He will throw at me, because I am really spiritually dense.
Today I finished day 129.I am 14 I hope to join the catholic church and you have helped me so much .

Day 102. I started going to mass again. Mass means so much more now that I’m reading the Bible daily. I was just going through the motions before. I find myself crying during communion most Sundays. It’s like my heart is so full it spills over! I’m so glad I found the Ascension app and I look forward to my readings every day. Thank you for sharing God’s word!

My kids shared the Ascension app and I have been listening to both Bible in a year and the Catechism. I have read the bible but not with the understanding I have gained through this wonderful podcast. I am also in RCIA class as one of the "older" adults and will be joining the church in 2024.

Me too! What a blessing and gift the BIY and CIY are. Also Jeff Cavins' daily reflections on Hallow and the Daily Exegesis. It's impossible to put into words how these things (and the Latin Mass) have led me back to Christ in a deeper way and changed my life.

I spent 5 days in Nashville on vacation and took my Great Adventure Bible with me and didn't skip a beat. read/listened to day 281 today. during the workweek, I read/listen after work to unwind. thank you, Fr. Mike and Jeff.

I've been through BIY with the Jeff Calvin's videos and the workbook and with Fr Mike Schmitz. I plan to read it again in 2024.
I completed BIAY twice and now am going through the CIAY. Simply life changing! Thank you Father Mike, Jeff, and the Ascension team!

I've been listening to the BIAY and CIAY all year and have enjoyed them very much. I'm baptized and confirmed catholic; I went to catholic grade school and am an avid podcast consumer. Both of these shows are the first ones on my rotation every morning. God Bless Father Mike and everyone at Ascension for bringing the Bible into our lives daily.
Found Bible in a Year, completely by accident earlier this year. Was on an 8 hour car trip. Well now on day 285 and am on day 110 of the Catechism. Been life altering. We all have our faith journeys. Mine started at the age of 13 going to Medjugorje. Then “loosing track” of God. Now 34 years later coming back full circle

Thank you for The Bible Timeline Show and all of your teachings! I was exposed to The Bible Timeline about 7 years ago and I have shared the timeline with so many people to help make sense of the collection of books in the Bible and where they fit into the story. My husband and I are currently following along on Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike and are loving it! Our plan is to do Bible in a Year again next year, and to add Catechism in a Year as well for 2024. Bless you both for making sense of the Bible for those of us Cradle Catholics who had never read the Bible cover to cover. We pray for you and thank God for your influence in our faith journeys. +

I'm on day 25. Ive read the Bible since I was a child, but never related to the characters. They were just people in the book. Now, I'm relating to the characters and God. I see how God used everyday "broken" people to change the world.
Reading the bible no matter how many times will never make me understand it the way BIY did. I want to finish it and restart it. Thank you!!!

I LOVE John 1: 'in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word was with God; ... through Him all things were made...and the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness could not put it out... and the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us...' WOW. It echoes down the years. I have always loved that since I was little.
Gosh, I’m 74 and I’m going through the Bible in the year now and hopefully by Christmas I will have finished it. Then I’m gonna give myself some time and I’m going to go into the catechism of the year and then hopefully if I’m still alive. I’m gonna go back and do the Bible in a year again And then the catechism of the year.
I too am on the journey through The Bible in a year. I am not on schedule but I hit the play button again as soon as I hear the reminder of the Holy Spirit to do so. I now feel myself missing it if I don't. I definitely get distracted and don't understand everything I hear, but I am hearing more and more personal messages the farther into it I go. I listen when going for walks. Definitely a good discipline for me. Thank you Fr. Mike for your encouragement and humor. Thank you Jeff for your passion and knowledge of the Word. I loved this discussion between both of you! I am reading both Bible and Catechism in a year on about pages 78. I’m learning so much of God’s teachings and his love for us. I’ve been also reading books about different saints like St Francis of Avila and the Catholic Classics. Thank you both so much for bringing me closer to The Holy Trinity. And I know it was God calling me!
This is my 2nd year of BIAY and, I will continue by the grace of God. Also my first for CIAY and I will continue as well. I’ve learned so much and thank God every day for Father Mike and his hard work to bring this wonderful opportunity to lean Gods word, and get to know him, live him and serve him. Praise Gods holy name for giving us this amazing gift🙏✝️🙏
I started off strong with Bible in a Year, but then fell off, but now I yearn to hear God’s word to us (and sometimes it feels like it’s God’s word to me). I’m on Day 321 and I feel so blessed to be at this point.
I’m looking forward to repeating the Bible in a Year and starting Catechism in a Year once I finally get through these next 44 days.
It’s ok to take longer to finish. It seems when you listen, that days lesson resonates with your life.

The humility of both these men is a teaching in itself; their desire to teach is our gift.
God put Fr Mike on my phone in January exactly when I needed. I’ve gone back to the Catholic Church the TLM so beautiful. Had my first confession in over 30 years. This is so needed right now in this world. I wish more priests in the church were more open and out in the community connecting with people. I am a cradle Catholic had the sacraments went to Catholic school and learned virtually nothing about the faith. And so many people I talk to say exactly the same thing. PS since the new app is available I don’t pick up my physical Bible anymore. The app is too good!
What’s in it for me ? Everything, I am so taken by what I have read more, so what I have learned. There are three major things that brought me back after 50 years and I didn’t even know I could come back my sister-in-law who asked the right questions at the right time adoration and confession, and my sister-in-law saying to me you have to listen to Father Mike.. she pretty much guaranteed me that if I listen to two or three of his sermons or Ascension presents talks that I would be in for good. And she couldn’t have more correct.
I am so beyond excited for this. God had been calling me to my second conversion for years and my stubborn heart finally answered the call (not really knowing at the time) in January 2023 with The Bible in a Year and Catechism in a Year. Gosh, they are both fantastic! My contemplation and awe of God have absolutely been increased and deepened by Father Mike and Jeff Cavins. I pray for you both regularly, as well as each of your safety in this world. May God be with both of you, always!❤

First, I love the format of the Great Adventure Bible. I begin every day listening to BIY with Father Mike and then Jeff’s Daily Reflection. I also love Father Mike’s enthusiasm and passion for the Bible. It is contagious and I find myself looking forward to each days reading and Father Mike’s prayer and explanation of scripture. Fr. Mikes hockey story was hilarious ive been playing hockey for 2 years and have only 3 points to my name (1g,2a). Believe me I know divine intervention is the only reason I scored that many 😂. In all seriousness though the some of the most beautiful moments in life that don’t include the sacraments are coming together with friends for competition and I thank god for blessing me with the ability to experience those moments.

I’m thankful for you Jeff first only because I did your Bible studies years and years ago in my church. The great adventure.
I actually think you came to our church in the beginning. Well, I was into the Bible even before that and I’m a Catholic shockingly.
But I have surrounded myself with evangelical Christians anyway all my life.
I am so grateful that the Catholics are now exposing the beauty and the wonder of the Bible.
father Mike you’re awesome. And you do a wonderful job. In every which way.
As far as the catechism, though I must admit, I have read through it but not entirely. And the way it is written is so difficult and not modern language
and even though I understand it, it’s not enjoyable to read.
So I hope father Mike makes it good because it doesn’t interest me at all.
I’d rather just look things up in segments.
Of course the answers to the faith are in there but it’s too bad the Catholic Church has the talking such high and mighty ways
because the average person out there needs to hear it in regular language.
Anyway, thank you for what you do.

I have a Bible that I hi-lite with markers. I started it when Advent began and used the Liturgy of the hours psalms and scripture readings. I did every verse that was associated with the Psalms in red, and then for the scripture readings that are with the hours I did in blue from Advent up until Lent, then during Lent I did them in purple, during easter I did them in orange and for ordinary time I am using green. But when I flip through my Bible I can see by the color coding when I first came across that verse during the year while reading the Liturgy of the hours. It makes for a really colorful and powerful looking bible.
I am on the journey with you for Bible in a Year and loving it. Your comments about don't worry that you cannot get it all are very comforting.

Started with two rounds of BIAY and am now following CIAY. Somehow it lead to Ascension’s Catholic Classics. I’m rereading “Introduction to the Devout Life” before “Confessions” starts in a couple of weeks. Catholic Classics lead to St. Faustina’s Diary which lead to Universalis, their Remembrance Cards, and praying for my deceased family. Then there’s the Hallow app and “Imitation of Christ”. Oh my! Good thing I’m retired. Fr. Mike, Jeff, you opened up the Bible and now I can’t get enough of God’s Word.
