Re: bolts leg cycles and Tyson gay, they had some crazy warmups regarding volumes just to get warmed up....when we read on the Charlie Francis toronto forums, 1 session for bolt could of possibly been 30x100m extensive or intensive tempo, for an athlete with world record speed like bolt, 30x100m extensive or intensive tempo, could easily be a psychological or lower leg/foot prep for his eventual crazy warmups before Beijing and Berlin...so bolts warmups were skimming the track working the cyclicals technique out of a 'walk-in hop or skip to plantar flex straight leg tap', those eventually turned into some pretty fast access, even seemingly alternating to a high knee tapping coming off a straight leg tap
You seem to be promoting "paw back" (pulling the foot /ground on contact using the glutes hamstring and gastroc to propel into next stride) Vs "Hammering" (pushing the foot down into the gound and using tendon stiffness /elasticity to bounce into the next stride ) Is there a biomechanical pro/con ? Or do they exist on a skill continuom. ?
B skips are good as well as straight leg runs or “Deion’s” then tempo running where you are running under 100% focused on correcting front side mechanics. There is a lot that goes into this correction thought takes time and consistency
Hi Morley, Love the videos. Supporting my son in improving his 40yard dash time. I notice that his front foot is landing under his knee. He is having trouble getting his foot out in front (shin angle). Are their drills that can help him improve his shin angle?

Re: bolts switching from high knee quick leg tapping to straight leg, not all sprinters even on lower levels can handle that, they'll rock there ankle supinatingly and possibly aggravate the top of foot, with switching off and on that technique
Seen few analisys you done on Bolt's running technique. Good try, but you are still a way off from understanding his running mechanics. I agree with you that good mechanics should be the first consideration to improve your sprinting and speed
Look, I have all the respect for you as professional. My opinion is not of an amateur. I have been an athlete, part of national team for several years, 4th performance in Europe as junior. This before I got a serious injury. I have a Master degree in Sport Science. I am a professional, too. Jamaican athletes technique is just different. Look at other jamaican sprinters, Elaine-Thompson or Pryce. It is not just talent, there is science behind their performances.
@@Performancelabofcaliforniawe already know where this is going, ROFL. To say Jamaicans have a science and not just talent says much to me! Sprinting is a science for all of the professionals, and the juniors as well right now! It is ALL a Science!

Thanks. Very helpful analysis and advice!
Happy to help! Thank you for your continued support.
incredible video KING!

Can you do a video about how to turn faster while not losing a lot of speed
Yes
What would you advise someone to do if they don't extend their knee as much out in front?

Yes definitely something that has to be developed over time when generating large amount of force into the ground
Where can I send a video, so I can get better feedback. I need help.
Send us an email. Or we have links below as well.

Well would love to see you sprint! Appreciate the comment.

@@cristianm310 all elite or top sprinters have specific mechanics that make them the fastest, not something unique to Jamaicans.
