Apologies for the poor sound quality at the beginning and end of this video. The camera mics got overwhelmed by the amount of background noise at this event, I'll make sure it doesn't happen next time...
No need to apologise Harry, that was a great video as always. Maybe get a camera with a mic input then get a lapel mic for this sort of stuff. The most frustrating things about your videos is poor sound! A Zoom H6 and some DPA mics would really improve your vids no end and would let us properly hear your cars. The H6 records six channels at once. Imagine two at the intake, two at the exhaust and two in car which you could then rebalance afterwards. If you need a Rent-a-Nerd I'm here :)
sound quality is fine, for a handheld camera anyway. By the way, I was wondering what camera you're using. Colors are fine. Do you mind saying? Is it a Sony? Or maybe Canon. I can only guess.
I visited Geneva myself this year and I must say, that Harry picked some of the best cars to appear in the video. Thank you Harry and don't worry about the sound, it was still very enjoyable.
Harry's garage Thanks for this tour around the Geneva Auto Show! The Superleggera F12 and the Bentley EXP Speed 6 look astonishing to me. Goodbye Veyron, I never really loved it, yet it has been the defining car of my youth...
Harry you need a t.v. show, there something calming and intriguing about the way you dissect each model along with the passion and honesty. Keep up the great work.
@16:50 For the Audi rear wing, for greater aero-efficiency, the underside of wings should be cleaner than the topside. Just like an airplane wing, it's not that air is *pushing* the wing in a certain direction, it's that the lack of pressure on one side it *pulling* on the wing. The underside of the rear wing, being clean, allows for more consistent low pressure on that side, to allow more downforce.
David Lewis basically, it's all the same. The key here is that the "drag control" is more important than the frontal area shape. A car is moving slower through air because of the air sucking it backwards, not because of the frontal area shape. My aerodynamic studies shown that almost any car front end would work okay in terms of aerodynamics, as long as it's not a pure brick. The rear is more important for drag coefficient reduction than the front. You can dramatically reduce drag coefficient if you use exhaust gases clever enough.
David Lewis It's not a prob for me. First of all, try looking at A2 Wind Tunnel channel on youtube. You'll find out that a car with advanced aerodynamics (i.e. frontal spoiler in GT40 style: frontal entrance + heated by radiator + low pressure exit = lots of downforce) like Lotus Elise is more like a Toyota Previa minivan - the amount of air going up (used to create downforce) makes it look like a minivan for the air itself. Second, there is an amazing web based aerodynamic simulator, pure scientifically based yet easy to use FlowIllustrator.com - you can try different shapes and speeds, you'll see that the front end shape won't change the air flow much. The "push" factor is very applicable in terms of Newton's 3rd law - area and angle are used for easier calculations. However, my explanations are more related to the car design and things which would and wouldn't work. I'm a beginner car designer, and it was pretty damn cool to find out that the front end shape doesn't matter much for the drag coefficient and adapt some explanations. Look at the cars that have somewhat low drag now: new MB C-class is about 0.23, not so far is Peugeot 508 and a bricky Nissan GT-R isn't far from them too, somewhere in 0.28ish ! And Volvo 740 had better Cd than a Countach! See the irony of real-world aerodynamics?
David Lewis You're welcome! It's good to hear that it's interesting for you. Flow illustrator is a heavily Navier-Stokes based program, though the input is just a bitmap image, if you split a car in sections and/or create various orificies (in the front) to imitate airflow coming from side or coming out of somewhere, you can get decent simulation at a fraction of time that you'd need with CFD 3D software. Anyway, I've never worked with a wind tunnel, but I'm common with cylinder head porting which is an interesting thing, as I've found out that it works vice versa what you expect it (if you apply laws for exterior car aerodynamics). A closed system, like a cylinder head port, dramatically reacts on cross-section area increase or decreas. If you increase and are somewhere, not only the speed would drop (as you do expect), but the airflow would actually be there - it would be literally sucked in that expanding point, because it's a closed system. If you think about a closed wheel sportscar, a car is like a knife going though a pressurized butter. Not only you have airflow on the hood/roof and etc, but you also may have a lot of airflow on the sides - it's up to you, either you can manage to use it, or, like in F1, you can dismiss it and let it flow around the wheels/sides. Well, as a car designer, I've found out that it's possible to make any car flow pretty good with some attention to the aerodynamics, so designing a car purely for low drag and better aerodynamics makes little or no sense to the drag coefficient. However, it's possible that the popular drag coefficient is not a very good way to estimate real life aerodynamics of a car. LaFerrari seems to have a good amount of holes inside its body so it should be cutting air pretty good! And I like the water/dirt tests too. You can see real life flow tests of a car, if you drive behing it. And if a car pushes on ful throttle, you can see how exhaust biases air, creates vortexes and it's being sucked in the low pressure area behind that test car. The point of my recent studies was to define how a 400 km/h supercar should look like in terms of aerodynamics and how I can reduce drag by heat management, exhaust gas pointing and use of pre-designed vortexes. That all sounds cool, but right now I'm a little unsure how big would be the real life gains of all that tech...
David Lewis Sure, low speed car can be fine with aerodynamics of any kind (like a city bus). However, I'd rather go for increasing speed limit, while maintaining safety. I have a concept of interactive pavement which can dramatically help the idea. I think it's stupid to drive cars slower than public transport can do.
Thanks Harry. Some pretty interesting cars on display as always. The look of that F12 has really grown on me. It didn't excite me at first I thought It looked a bit boring and plain but I find myself keep wanting to get another look at it. There's something very elegant and classy about it. Hope we get to see you drive It some day.
Thanks Harry, we didn't;t have the budget to go but your video tour was the next best thing. Also RIP not so pretty Veyron (but well engineered) and may improved style return to hyper cars soon.
Pagani used to come out with something new nearly every year. The Zonda is in my top ten of favorites, but the Huayra did away with everything I loved, the looks, the stick shift, the natural aspiration and the lack of airbags, and they won't update the darn thing! Audi seems to have thrown in the towel on making attractive cars, perhaps as a way to make the Veyron look less like the cleft-lip brute I find it to be. Since the 2015 Geneva show looks more like a science fair, I'd like to have a moment of silence for incredible things throughout the years I've lived, a list not limited to but including: Diablo GT, Z06, Carrera GT and GT3 RS 4.0, Aston DBS and One-77, CLK-GTR and GT1, Mclaren F1(GT, LM, HDK and GTR), Elise, Zonda, SLR Stirling Moss, 599 SA Aperta and 360 Modena, R8, MC-12 and nearly every coachbuilt Ferrari, specifically that gold one and Clapton's beast.
Harry, this has already been discussed but, the Ford GT you have seen IS the production version of the vehicle (minus a couple touches to regulatory bits). I heard this straight from the source.
It's the headlights that really gets me. They look so unrealistic for a road legal vehicle (in a good way though :). Gonna be great to see these roll out in a little over a years time from now!
It's just one giant sweet shop..of beautiful cars! Why was the Escort Mexico there? Simply as an RS historical homage..alongside the new Focus RS? The Koenigsegg look incredible, but I had a Jaguar XJ220 feel about the rear end design? Maybe just me... Thanks for the video.
I always enjoy your vids, Harry. You know about the mics, but it doesn´t deter from the fact that you have tons of knowledge, and a great enthusiasm! Thank you!
Unbeknown to me, I made a small appearance in this video while you were filming the new Audi R8. At 15.36 I walk into the shot (with the Quiksilver backpack) as I was simultaneously filming the car. Sorry Harry! lol
Great video, the Bentley EXP looked stunning.. but then dear oh dear the front grill / face is horrific, almost like one of those noddy cars you get in Korea !
Very disappointing that Harry reviewed the entire Geneva motor show on video and didn't even show 5 seconds of what was perhaps the biggest new introduction at the show, the Ferrari 488 GTB.
I don't understand, with the Civic Type R, if they're going for a no holds barred kind of seat of your pants road racer, why do they make it so big and flabby?
I don't like what they did to the back of the Ferrari F12. They went from boldly styled to plain. I always liked the aggressive look of the F12, why tone it down? And Harry, did I hear you say the red on that Porsche was weird? Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I have never seen a high performance car that DIDN'T look good in red!
Apologies for the poor sound quality at the beginning and end of this video. The camera mics got overwhelmed by the amount of background noise at this event, I'll make sure it doesn't happen next time...
This was great. I was never disappointed with a video from this channel. Thank you for sharing your great perspective on the new cars.
Hope you get your hands in some of these cars for a review:)

Harry's garage as always, your clips are head and shoulders better than anyone else, love how you make the mundane so bloody interesting

Thanks for this tour around the Geneva Auto Show!

Finally a real review from Geneva, always nice to see Harry
Check out Chris Haris. He has a good review as well.
Harry you need a t.v. show, there something calming and intriguing about the way you dissect each model along with the passion and honesty. Keep up the great work.
Only review of the show that was actually worth a damn. Thanks Harry.
Great video. Really enjoyed watching this. You have a knack of capturing all the best bits and keeping the viewer interested and entertained.
I just love Harry's video :D It feels so honest and true. It's like you're there with him! Wonderful.
Welcome back Harry! Have missed your excellent take on all things automotive. Looking forward to more Supercar exotica.

I really enjoy these motor show reviews thanks yet again Mr Harry. 👍👍
Thanks Harry. Some pretty interesting cars on display as always.

Great video, enjoyed his coverage and take on the cars at the Geneva show despite being one of the later videos.
loved the video, Harry. Do this again next year please. Take care!
Thank you for taking the time to make and show the video.
Although i've never been that attracted to bentley, that speed 6 looks amazing
Thanks for taking the time to make this video up to give us a tour :)
Great video , you showed all the cars I like very much !! Thanks !
Thanks Harry, we didn't;t have the budget to go but your video tour was the next best thing. Also RIP not so pretty Veyron (but well engineered) and may improved style return to hyper cars soon.
Instant like. Love your reviews Harry.

GREAT REVIEW HARRY........LOVE THE MORGAN STAND.........AND MANY OTHERS
lovely video. Liking the length, you've really covered a lot.
Harry, this has already been discussed but, the Ford GT you have seen IS the production version of the vehicle (minus a couple touches to regulatory bits). I heard this straight from the source.
It looks more like a Lambo though.
It's the headlights that really gets me. They look so unrealistic for a road legal vehicle (in a good way though :). Gonna be great to see these roll out in a little over a years time from now!
Fantastic Overview of the Motorshow Harry! Very much enjoyed the narration aswell. felt like i was actually given a tour ^_^
Good on you Harry, thanks for your efforts mate!
24:19, So koneigseggg is going for the Biohazard logo as their new hubcap? and it kinda looks like a Jag XJ220 from the rear now,
For me the rear of the Bentley is a dream but the front was a nightmare.
Well done Harry,a great down to earth review, sorry not to see the gull wing Merc but very enjoyable anyway.
Great video, very interested to hear your take on those cars.
Thank you for this video Harry, I hope you are doing well.
thank you harry! what a lovely review.
I always enjoy your vids, Harry. You know about the mics, but it doesn´t deter from the fact that you have tons of knowledge, and a great enthusiasm! Thank you!
Best Geneva video comes last :)
Great video as usual from Harry
Best channel on RUclips
still even with that issue excellent insight and opinions on the cars not a new film now but very good
That GT looks superb from all angles. Will be interesting to see what the likes of 5th gear etc. make of the performance and package as a whole.
Great, thank you!
But where was the 488 GTB? ;-)
Great video as always Harry. Do you think that the back of the Regera kinda looks like an XJ220?
What camera do you use and do you have some kind of boom to get you in the shot
What a great video and excellent review of the show. The BBC may be looking for a new presenter.....how about it Harry :)
Great video, Harry. But what about Jaguar ??
A great review. Thanks.
Superb! Thank you.
Unbeknown to me, I made a small appearance in this video while you were filming the new Audi R8.
At 15.36 I walk into the shot (with the Quiksilver backpack) as I was simultaneously filming the car. Sorry Harry! lol
Thank you very very much!
Quite agree with you about the loss of 3 door sports cars.
Nice one Harry!
Thanks Harrold! Great job.
nice video harry!
LOVE THE FORD GT..................
I love you Harry!
Great video, the Bentley EXP looked stunning.. but then dear oh dear the front grill / face is horrific, almost like one of those noddy cars you get in Korea !
im surprised you did not cover McLaren
You need to start wearing a mic, Harry. Absolutely love your vids but your voice is often lost in all the background noise.
.
Very good, i think the regera takes the show.
Am I the only one that thinks the f12 is one of the most beautiful cars Ferrari has made
Like that blue.
The Regera looks a little bit like the XJ220 from the back, I think it's the best looking Koenigsegg yet.
Harry, just so you know, your most recent Range Rover SVR video is "private" so most people can't view it.
nice video
Next Top Gear host?
I like the Honda better than the focus. Just my opinion. Also, love the new ford gt!
Agree on the GT3 RS. The aero doesn't look right at all. Ride height looks too high as well, or maybe that's just me.
that honda is an audi...?
I tend to agree with commentators that say the Type R is way overpriced for a car without independent rear suspension.
LOVE THE FORD FOCUS RS 4X4 IT BRINGS BACK GROUP B. RENAISSANCE..................SHAME ABOUT THE FOR DOOR PROBLEM..........
HARRY TO REPLACE CLARKSON!!!!!
Red does look great on sports cars, i think it would look much better on GT3, this GT3 RS is too wild, this red makes it look tame.
THUMBS UP FOR THE ASTON MARTIN VULCAN.............
Are you going to take Clarksons Job???
Can hardly hear you
F12 PRECISION ENGINEERING....... 21 CENTURY WINNER
Pro Viewer Tip: Turn off audio, Read his lips during first few minutes of video.
To me the gt4 is the better looking
Focus RS looks boring from the rear, the rest is nice
i do not like the influence that VW group has over Porsche. The brand is getting watered down and losing its charm by the minute
Look at your face first !
No koenigsegg regera
Lambo SV looks like a chubby kid
The sound quality is a disaster, get a mic
New ford fully shit car haha
