I grew up woth a Shetland pony we nicknamed shitland lol. His name was snowball he was so funny. Big stinker too. He was truly the best pony ever. He was my childhood for sure. This is adorable. Sending hellos from Wasilla Alaska,

I had the sweetest Shetland pony. I guess he was grateful, cuz my parents bought him off a "rockpile" and he was so skinny, my dad called him NAPOLEON-- BECAUSE OF HIS "BONY PARTS." 😉

Got told that too, just before it ran me alongside a Barberry hedge in am attempt to shred me off it's back, that's shred not shed. It worked. They are a special breed, one with the size complex. They have to shine in other ways 😂😂😂

We looked after two at college and they were so bloody stroppy. They will do it if they feel like it and when they are good and ready 🤣. Expect a lot of kickings too. I love the horse at the end looking down at him like who the hells this little 🤬

Grew up with shetlands and hated horses because I thought all were like that. Learned later there are good horses. (Not that all shetlands are bad, but ours were just plain mean).

We have a Shetland on the yard and it’s so funny. She tries to kick you for no reason and if you run off without her, she’ll rear then buck and run around in the circle. Well, they are known as some of the most sasssy horse breeds

No to Shetland Ponies and no to Chow Dogs they really scare me 😳 !!! But one of my favorite dogs ever was a mix of Rottweiler and Chow and so handsome liked like his mom Rottweiler but fluffy ❤

Shetlands are superb horses but they do not suffer fools nor respond acquiescently to weak character. They are so intelligent,versatile,strong @ willing but they must be intelligently @ humanely trained. A shetland will give you their good faith when @ only when you convince them that yr good faith is to be trusted and can read theirs 🐎🐎🐎🇭🇲🇭🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸

Pound for pound, a stud Shetland pony can be one of the meanest critters there are. This one, being short and stocky, 300 plus pounds, I would guess, would be a handful for anybody, if that is what he wanted to do.

Ugh…. When my brother and I were small our parents bought us on of these to ride. My parents would be on their horses in front and the pony would stop. NOTHING we did would get him moving then JUST as the last of my mum’s horse disappeared into the woods or down the road he would BOLT and run and it terrified my brother and I. I have absolutely hated horses ever since then. 😩
