Sorry guys, fork is 150 for size medium up. I was looking at the wrong size 🤦🏾♂️
You got the same exact bike I bought earlier this year. At first, I was thinking you got ahold of the 2024 version. I prefer Aluminum over carbon. I don't trust carbon. Maybe lighter and dampens the vibrations a little but it breaks to easy and that's the last thing I want to happen on the trail. Aluminum will last longer and its more reliable.
@@michaelmichaelagnew8503how are you finding the bike? What size is it and how tall are you?
I got mine in the high set up and climbs like a goat…I changed the tires to specialized butchers t9.
It is the perfect bike for all mountain.
No need for more in the front range
Beautiful bike you got there.
My trail bike is aluminum frame/wheels with 140/130 travel, and weighs only 27.5 lbs. I'm very happy with it.
Mate this bike LOOKS SIK I love the color I want one
Excited by this upcoming review. This is a bike I might buy.
Sick look indeed on that 8!
I’ve been riding Trek MTB since 1992 and since have owned every variation/Gen of their “do it all model” Fuel EX in both alum & carbon, from experience Carbon rules and Alum drools when it comes to every aspect including strength/durability. Currently own both Gen 6 and amazed at the elec version!!!🤯💪🏼🪶🥰
That bike is gorgeous!!!
My words are Shimano, 27.5", medium and aluminum. I ride a 2022 Giant Trance X3 27.5 in Good gray and Glossy black .... the store sells Giant and Trek but Giant is my brand, the World can have the rest.
I think the fork is 150mm and the rear is 140mm. Keep up the good work! Great vid!
Yea I noticed that afterwards! I was looking at the wrong sizes
I have a Trek Fuel. I love the bike. My only gripe is, how low the bottom bracket is. I'm always having pedal strikes. I'm contemplating changing from 170mm cranks to 165mm cranks, to help alleviate that.
Are you running the flip chip in high? That’ll raise the bottom bracket and might help avoid some strikes.
@MoreCupHoldersPlease yeah, it's on the high setting because I do a ton of climbing here in the Phoenix area. I've heard that it's a pretty common complaint with the Trek Fuel bikes.
yup I have a new fuel ex ... pedal strike like crazy!
Nice 🤙🏾 liking forward to the ride vide 💯
I like carbon frames and rims, but alloy cranks and handlebar.
Beautiful bike 🔥
Love my Fuel, the reach on a large Fuel is the same as the reach on my M/L Roscoe so I ended up going with a large. I'm curious to see how the medium fits you.
EX a roscoe with a back shock!🎉
great channel and content; Trek is my choice brand - own both road and mountain bikes; would have solely considered carbon for a mountain bike, but, now probably would stick with aluminum for the added durability. I'm old school still riding 26" wheels ('12 Fuel Ex 8) and even more old school with my '98 Y22. Would you consider doing a review of any of the Trek Fuel Exe bikes?
That’s sic rig, my wife wanted that one. Just sitting on its super comfy and fitting is great
I orderd this bike ill have in 5 weeks
Carbon rides differently than alloy. I have both and I think I prefer carbon’s stiffness but i definitely get why people like alloy more.
Every review I’ve seen of this bike, the crank is an SLX but now on the Trek site it shows and says Deore. Did they downgrade the crank at some point? Is this a sneaky little downgrade they’re doing for bikes on sale during Trek Fest?
Congratulations bro... How much sag do you use in your fuel ex gen 6 8?
Has 3 different head angles to choose from.
I'm curious to hear how you feel it compares to the Roscoe.
Me too. The mechanic was telling me it’s pretty much a Roscoe full suspension
I just bought this bike in pennyflake
What bothers me is the cost knowing the bike is manufactured in the same overseas building that a dozen other bike brands are manufactured. And the manufacture price being reduced by a grand$, at the end-of-year, tells ya the bike has a 600-800% mark-up. Which is insane. What my wife, reluctantly paid for in the EX8, is the name/logo. Much like sneakers or a smartphone. It's not quality. It's the name you're paying for.
Just because it's manufactured in the same factory, doesn't mean it's made the same way.
If I was racing a bike, I'd want to have a carbon bike, but for the way I ride, I'd rather have an aluminum frame with better components.
Older Slash!
I know I'm the minority here but when I tried a carbon frame for a gravel bike setup, I can't go back to aluminium.
I'll take carbon for gravel bike and aluminium for my hardtail mtb. I'd rather the rowdy one be cheap to repair & replace.
One important thing about aluminum not mentioned is that it's flexible. With aluminum, if something is bent, it can be bent back into place. It can only be safely done for a limited amount of times but still, it's personally my number one advantage over carbon.
Uh that's kinda not true, aluminum has low fatigue strength and will be significantly weakened if you bend it back. That's why you can only really bend a derailleur hanger back once before it snaps. Steel is the metal you can bend back multiple times that you're thinking of.
That said, like most metals aluminum won't fail as catastrophically as carbon will when it does break
Hey Matty, may i know your height?
If the Trek guy at the Trek store said any other bike was better, he should be fired. Lol
Total dream bike 😍
So are you a trek advertisement channel now?
Haha nope. Just wanna try out some of the bikes I’ve never ridden on the trails and give my thoughts.
