...love the red cedar...and nice recovery on the top...it turned out great...👍
I was thinking you might turn a jam chuck for the top with the piece left in the chuck...is there a reason you didn't go down that road???

Thanks! I thought about it, but the top had a beveled edge, (that I forgot to record), and it wouldn't have held. This little birdhouse was a calamity of errors on my part! Lol
1. When I made the tenon, I should have made it to the diameter of the forstner bit.
2. I should not have used an ash branch with a soft pith.
