For me I'd chose Underrated: Yellow Submarine Hard Days Night Please Please Me, With The Beatles Beatles For Sale Rubber Soul Magical Mystery Tour Overrated: Let It Be Abbey Road Revolver White Album Sgt Pepper Help
Interesting lists Mr RockNRoll !! If I had to choose one more underrated album and one more overrated, I'd agree "Please please me" is an underrated album and "Abbey Road" an overrated one ! Also agree "Rubber soul" is a little underrated !
Thanks !! Glad you enjoyed my stuff Zach !! To be honest I don't know their songs pretty well, just heard a couple of their hits ! Both of them sound cool to me, especially Nick Drake which is something pretty pleasant and relax to listen to (I'll probably listen to more of his stuff) !! That being said, I'll probably do something about both of them one day or another !
Good video Marc. Number 1 Canadian RUclipsr and coolest accent. I love the White Album and Let It Be. I would have Please Please Me and Beatles For Sale as underrated with Sgt Pepper and Abbey Rd as overrated. I don't doubt they are great albums, I just don't like the overproduced side of the Beatles. I like their basic, no frills, pop/rock side. Have you watched Get Bak yet? I haven't but I will eventually..... I am too lazy to get Disney Plus. Anyway, I have been enjoying my own Elvis movie festival too much to watch much else. 💃👍
Thanks for the kind words Anthony !! Yeah, "Please please me" is a pretty good debut album and that would be my 3rd choice as an underrated Beatles album and "Abbey Road" my 3rd choice as an overrated album !! I think for "Beatles for sale" it's just the cover songs that are not as good as those from "Please please me" and "With the Beatles" though they are still decent ! But on the other hand I really like their original stuff like "No reply", "I. don't want to spoil the party", "I'm a loser", "What you're doing"...In the case of "Sgt. Pepper", though it's my favorite Beatles album, that's true that it may sound "overproduced" with all those orchestration arrangements compared to their other albums !! And yeah I watched the "Get back" documentary and I really enjoyed seeing how the Beatles wrote and composed those songs step by step !!! Pretty entertaining !!! Thanks Anthony !!!
Always GREAT to hear from one of my all-time favorite RUclipsrs, Marc! Happy New Year to you also. You are 100% correct about A Hard Day's Night (my first Beatles album), which is a perfect album of amazing songs - yes, cutesy and innocent, but so well crafted and performed and recorded. And Help! is my favorite UK Beatles album, so of course I agree with you there! As for overrated choices, I would choose SgtPepper and Abbey Road (sorry! haha). I love Let It Be and White Album, but understand why others might not. Great idea for a video series, Marc. I look forward to seeing you again! Cheers. Jeff
Thank you so much for the kind words Jeff !!! Now it looks like we got a "perfect" match for the underrated albums !!! Great !!! And you know you don't have to feel sorry about "Abbey Road" cos it's probably my 3rd choice as an overrated Beatles album haha !!! Now for "Sgt. Pepper" (though it's my favorite) it's a very "popular" choice as an overrated Beatles album !! Maybe it's because of the whole orchestration, horns and stuff like that !! I can understand that cos it doesn't sound like a "guitars" album compared to most of their other albums !!! Happy new year to one of my favorites youtubers !! Cheers !!!
Hi Marc, great video idea! I agree with you, that "Help!" is a bit underrated. I really love this album (probably even more than "Rubber Soul") and it has a lot of outstanding songs, like the title track, "Ticket to ride" or "Yesterday". And I actually really love "It's only love", I don't care if John hates it, I think it's a good song. Another album I consider underrated is "Beatles For Sale". Or maybe not the whole album, but there are definitly a lot of underrated songs in my opinion: "No reply", "I'm a loser", "I'll follow the sun", "Every little thing" and "I don't want to spoil the party" are all great songs and deserve more recognition. It's really hard for me to say that a Beatles album is overrated, because they are all great, but I get your point with "Let It Be". It really hasn't got a good mix and production. I disagree with you on the white album, I think it' brilliant, but that's a matter of tastes. Great video still and merry christmas and a happy new year! :)
Yeah ! "Help !" is definitly a great album and comparing that album to "Rubber soul" is interesting !! Though I prefer "Rubber soul", it's just one little step higher than "Help !" in my ranking !! Both albums are in my top 5 !! Also agree with you about those songs you mentionned from "Beatles for sale" that are my favorites from that album !!! And though I included "The White album" in my overrated Beatles albums list (probably one in the "minority" haha !), I recognize its qualities and it showed The Beatles were able to go in many musical directions through one album with "Heavy Rock", "Music hall", "Folk", "Experimental", "Blues", "Reggae"...!!! Thanks and Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too Tobi !!!
Yeah ! That line " Got a big bass drum, gonna have some fun.." really makes me think about my friends and I (we got a band) everytime we play music !!! That's exactly how we feel everytime we got a jam drinking a couple of beers !!! And that album "Dirty deeds" (international version) is my favorite AC/DC album !! Great from start to finish !!!
I'm gonna do "Rock or bust" pretty soon (probably in a couple of days) and then I'll do a video about my daily life which is a pretty interesting request btw. !! Thanks Brody !!
Sgt Pepper is probably the most popular choice as an overrated album ! Probably because of the whole orchestration arrangements ! People often say The White album (for example) sounds more like a Beatles album compared to Pepper cos there's no orchestration, it's just those 4 guys ! Maybe that's a good point ! And as I said about Let it be, I think the prouction is not as good as other Beatles album but despite that, a lot of people agree that's an underrated album ! Thanks for your opinion Brody !!
Well. as I said there are still a couple of good (or really good) songs on "Let it be" but the musical arrangements and the whole production in generaal sounds more basic, more rough to me compared to the rest of their discography !! That's the one and only album that wasn't produced by George Martin and I think we can feel he's terribly missing here !!! The whole atmosphere is dark compared to any of their other albums !!! Their darkest one in my opinion !!! With "Let it be", it "really" smells like the end for The Beatles !!! That being said, even as my least favorite Beatles album, I still like "Let it be" better than many other Rock albums in general and that's what I find "very special" about that legendary band !!! Thanks Mark !!!
will you be doing these bands overated and underrated? Ac/dc Black Sabbath Def Leppard Iron Maiden Judas Priest Led Zeppelin Kiss Motley Crue police Queen Rush Slayer
Well I'll do those I know best like "AC/DC", "Black Sabbath", "Led Zeppelin", "Kiss", "Police" for sure... and maybe "Maiden"...I'll also do bands like the "Stones", "Who", "Pink Floyd" !!
underrated, all of their albums pre rubber soul. how many people listen to pre rubber soul beatles these days? overrated, just the white album imo. there is just far too much filler, throwaway songs on that album to make it a truly enjoyable listening experience, despite of course like all beatles albums, there is great stuff in there too. i would consider let it be overrated, but i don't think it gets all that much acclaim, praise, save for the handful of hits on it.
Totally agree with what you said about the pre Rubber Soul albums Alex !! Yeah, for many people it sounds like the Beatles did nothing before Rubber Soul !! And I don't understand why cos the melodies and vocal harmonies of the songs from those albums were so great !!! Also agree with you there's still a couple of good songs/hit songs from Let it be. Thanks Alex !!!
For me I'd chose
Underrated:
Yellow Submarine
Hard Days Night
Please Please Me,
With The Beatles
Beatles For Sale
Rubber Soul
Magical Mystery Tour
Overrated:
Let It Be
Abbey Road
Revolver
White Album
Sgt Pepper
Help
Interesting lists Mr RockNRoll !! If I had to choose one more underrated album and one more overrated, I'd agree "Please please me" is an underrated album and "Abbey Road" an overrated one ! Also agree "Rubber soul" is a little underrated !
Hi I recently discovered your channel and I really enjoy the videos!
Would you ever consider talking about John prine or nick drake in a video?
Thanks

Hi Marc.Do you like the AC/DC song There’s Gonna Be Some Rockin

@@brodyatwood3539 Happy new year to you too my friend !!
Not a Beatles fan but I’ve heard some albums Underrated : Let It Be
Overrated : Sgt Pepper
Sgt Pepper is probably the most popular choice as an overrated album ! Probably because of the whole orchestration arrangements ! People often say The White album (for example) sounds more like a Beatles album compared to Pepper cos there's no orchestration, it's just those 4 guys ! Maybe that's a good point ! will you be doing these bands overated and underrated?
Ac/dc

Well I'll do those I know best like "AC/DC", "Black Sabbath", "Led Zeppelin", "Kiss", "Police" for sure... and maybe "Maiden"...I'll also do bands like the "Stones", "Who", "Pink Floyd" !!
