Thank you, this was a belter video to do. And your coverage was educational and impartial ❤ well played. The similarities between Belfast and Liverpool are stark. And geographically homelessness does not respect borders.
Fella Jordan is not homeless, he lives in East Belfast between Newtownards Rd and Albertbridge Rd. Around the Templemore Avenue area. He's attacked me in town for not giving him money for drugs. He walks into the city centre everyday to beg and tell his story for money for drugs. 🤡🤯 Absolute disgrace I've been on the waiting list 12yrs for East Belfast and I cannot get housed in my own area. Jordan gets a 2 bed house 6mths after getting out of prison. 😡🤪
My bullshit detector went off immediately watching him. He says its an immigration issue which is a load of shite, it's a being a druggie issue...if it was an immigration issue then surely there would be homeless people all over the show. Never see any in Coleraine or ballymena unless you're talking about one's in the hostels, seems to be way more rampant in the city
I lived in Northern Ireland with my x wife a local lassie in Dromara Dromore in the countryside and I miss the people and the country there's different troubles in every country and homeless people in every country It's not a perfect world until Jesus comes back God bless you all from me in Birmingham England 🙏
I am South African and immigrated to Ireland in 1999, I moved to NI in 2000 and absolutely love it. It can still be contentious at certain times of the year ie Easter and the 12th July Marching season but it’s not a war zone at all. An amazing place to visit.
Very sad to see I try go to Belfast a few times a year so good for a nightout. I dunno the figures in the NI for homelessness but it’s 14k here down south. God bless from Dublin 🇮🇪 great city
Homelessness certainly wasn't as big an issue in Belfast when i was younger. You would have been shocked seeing a homeless person back then. Now it's rampant.
Im from Belfast and i can barely understand a word hes saying Sounds like he has fluid on his lungs He never admitted what was really the problem and no doubt will die young from pneumonia from the sounds of it
Do not believe that they are genuinely homeless A lot of them are homeless because they refuse to give up drugs and alcohol, if they did so they would be able to stay in a homeless shelter until they get a home. A few years ago I, seen a girl who was in my year in school begging on the street and I felt sorry for her but that soon disappeared when I see her a few days later walking through Belfast City centre spotless clean. They have chosen this life so it's their faults, no one else's
There are those who beg for drug money and have homes, sadly there are people who live on the streets desperately wanting a place in a hostel. There are deaths in the winter months. It will be worse this winter as the welcome centre has gone. So they aren't all the same !
I'm from Belfast, that taxi guide is a total joke. Does not explain the situation right. He's all over the place. There is some very good taxi guides in Belfast.
Hi addika I spoke to barrie his to ashamed to speak to you but he spent the money on other products,.I see evert morning getting his script at the chemist.sorry mate to inform you but people want to know where all that cash went.lets hope and pray barrie can face up and change his life around unfortunately hard drugs and alcohol addiction is no joke and it makes people say anything to get what they want (more drugs and more drugs) You deserve to know and so do the donator,.
Thank you for letting me know Cassie. I know he spent it all on substances now. Unfortunately when in the grip of addiction people will say anything to make money and it’s a lesson learnt. I’ll try and see Barry soon, I work away a lot so it’s difficult sometimes but I’ll try and get to him soon.
Thats sad to know. I saw the same thing 20 years ago on the streets of Belfast when I was at Queens. Many years ago, I learnt that giving a sandwich and a cup of coffee was the best way to help homeless people that I came across on my travels. Its the best way to make sure your hard earned cash is spent wisely. God bless.
