Billie & Finneas were asked to write this for the BARBIE movie and wrote it 100 % from the perspective of BARBIE - a doll becoming human with feelings and tears, etc. "Don't tell my boyfriend - it's not what he's made for" is first and foremost a reference to the KEN doll in the BARBIE world. Billie says it wasn't until a couple days later listening to the song with friends that she realized it WAS ALSO about her. Greta Gerwig, the director of the BARBIE movie told Billie and Finneas that what the movie lacked [in music] was BARBIE's "HEART SONG". The little thing she sets out along with the outfits is a tiny "crown" from "You should see me in a Crown." You captured all the themes - I think the song's magic is that it is about BARBIE but Billie captures the journey many of us real people take in discovering what we were made for. P.S. Have you watched "Hi Ren" by the artist REN, on his channel REN . Or another riveting therapeutic video of REN'S - "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" (official music video - on the REN channel, August 2, 2022. Those 2 videos of Ren's have a lot of food for thought, though I'm certain you have plenty of resources already.

You were right. The little outfits are all remakes of iconic outfits she wore
at special moments in her life like winning all 4 major Grammies at once, winning her 1st Oscar or
    in iconic music videos.

Good reaction. Your experience is evident in your analysis. One thing I was wondering was how come young people like Billie and Finneas discover such layered and nuanced response to all the challenges you've identified? How did they in just a few lines excavate so much baggage?
