- This is from the 1983 Phil Ochs tribute documentary, Chords of Fame. Phil's friend Eric Andersen sings "When I'm Gone" in this clip.
RUclips wouldn't allow me to upload very long videos, so I've uploaded the full documentary to another video website, Bilibili. You can watch it here: www.bilibili.com/video/av4257407 - Видеоклипы
A great tribute to the great man from somebody who actually knew him. Phil forever.
Beautiful! Thanks for posting.
No one other than Phil can sing Phil better.
Wouldn't know this guy if he fell on me
Where has he been, or better yet, where have I been ?
Were you around in '66? Long time ago... Check out "Thirsty Boots" from 'Bout Changes 'n' Things (covered by Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, and John Denver amongst others.) Anderson was 23. He also co-wrote "Weather Report Suite" with Bob Weir and John Perry Barlow on the Dead's 1973 Wake of the Flood.

I wonder if this video was recorded in Eric's kitchen.
OK, who ever knew Eric Anderson's music in the time?
He was kind of a big deal in the early 70's when his first album for Columbia Records, "Blue River," did quite well. A lot of us folkies were fans in the 60's, after he wrote "Thirsty Boots" and "Violets of Dawn" ---- those two songs were covered by a number of other notable artists.
He was one of the folk icons in the 60s
This isnt it.
