Man I really want to see the new hair and hat on the old Indy figure but no one's doing it. I feel like he teased us in this video by doing it for Marion but not for Indy
This might be an unpopular take but this updated Indy minifigure looks more like the guy he got his fedora from in The Last Crusade than it does Harrison Ford…. 😐
I like the new and improved figures. Sure, the old ones has nostalgia factor. However, in this year of 2023 where Lego has been making such detailed figures like the Disney 100 years CMF, I’m happy they’re updating these Indiana Jones figures
I'm a bit put off by the size of the new Anubis statues. I find them too big and too dominating, though the larger size is probably more accurate and seems to help knock down that wall. I've got to say, after watching this video, I'm more interested in it now.
The only reason why you’re “a bit put off” is because you’re looking at the sets side by side and you have working eyes and a functional brain. The new ones look ridiculous, yeah it doesn’t knock the wall out perfectly but the scale looks so much better.
The new one is much closer to the actual scale shown in the movie, but they definitely dominate the scene in the new one more so than in the original. I guess it just comes down to personal preference as I can see liking one or the other. I like both, but slightly prefer the new one.
Belt print on the original Indy looks much more detailed and movie accurate while the new one just has those black lines and stuff, which looks way too simple for my taste and in what movie was his belt black to begin with?
I loved the original Lost Tomb/Well of the Souls set. It was one of the first sets I built by myself without my dad's help. And then my sister smashed it with a door...
I had the OG set and not gonna lie the origional ark was superior . Also the R2-D2 and C3po was funny. My only complaint was when I got it for some reason I got anakin skywalkers face in the set instead of indiana jones
The new one looks good but man the old one is a much better display piece and is visually more aesthetically pleasing. New one, while good with more accurate anubis statues that are large and imposing, honestly gives me MOC vibes
Something that i would love to do is catalog which pieces belong to which sets and comebine the 2 so that way it has the play features of both as well as making it a bigger set
dam i was so young when this came out, a 20 dollar lego set back then was a 100 dollar lego set to me now lol i thought this was so much more expensive.
So I currently have almost all the new sets for Indy (minus the Temple collectible one with the boulder) and I think the biggest difference is the new sets feel way more geared towards play than collectibility. Like the OG 2008 set you can easily display and have it be solely a display piece whereas the new 2023 set feels way more like it should be played with. Same with the Airplane Chase from Last Crusade set. I have that one too and the car and plane are so INSANELY durable (I seriously dropped it and it didn't even lose one stud) that you can tell it was way more geared towards actually being played with rather than displayed
Thought the original minifigs are definitely more nostalgic, it's hard to argue the new ones aren't better, though I actually prefer the older set to the new one idk what it is
I have a really big problem with the Anubis statues in the new one and it all comes down to their snout. It should have been the 1x3 slope one for me. Also the setup behind with te mummie is sloppy and unnecessairy . And I really wished that we could open up the Arc for once but noooooo make a playfeature at the back with a turning mummie instead. Missed opportunity. Luckily the minifigs are a big plus.
The prices for these new Lego sets are insane. That's the main reason I like the old set more, more bang for your buck. All the the extra detail on the new one makes it look better, but it just destroys affordability. Even with all that detail, the old one still alot of charm because its so proudly lego; all the bricks used are clearly dicernable instead of using a hundred slope pieces.
40$ for a movie licensed 600-piece LEGO set with 4 mini figs seems pretty reasonable to me. But that is just my opinion. Looking at Star Wars licensed LEGO I found a 599 pcs LEGO Star Wars Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle 75362 with 4 mini figs as a comparison, and it runs 80$
Maybe... now hear me out. That mummy is exactly how it is. A corpse. A rotten corpse for the dungeon area. Lego creating actual dead bodies instead of zombie or monster. Idk. Thought it's kinda funny lol
Am I the only one that sees OPEN blue studs on the top of the new set? I feel like someone could EASILY use that to make an opening to the Well of Souls which was absent from the new set.
The old one is a lot better, it’s very compact, colourful and sufficiently detailed and conveys the idea of an enclosed space well. The new version looks like it’s stretched out and its design is overall very clunky - the part with the mummy looks like it was slapped on at the last moment and the technic beams at the sides of the wall are such an eye sore. It’s definitely the worst out of the otherwise solid 2023 Indiana Jones sets.
i really don't think the new statues are good :( they are a bit too blocky on the limbs and they dont capture the shape of the jackal head of anubis where the old ones did while being much smaller and with a lot less parts to choose from compared to now. That's the big problem i see in the new set.
Trying to think of Indiana Jones without the 2007 mining hurts my brain. So much nostalgia and was so defining with the sets and Videogame
Yeah the statues in the LEGO set are right out of video game as I remember
Man I really want to see the new hair and hat on the old Indy figure but no one's doing it. I feel like he teased us in this video by doing it for Marion but not for Indy
I have the both figs
Must say I prefer the first, it does more with less and still looks great. The Salah figure is great though.
This was one of my favorite Indiana jones sets
I love the old lego box artwork for Indiana Jones. It has that amazing feel of sense of belonging for the movie.
Tbh I would combine both of them make the ultimate set
This might be an unpopular take but this updated Indy minifigure looks more like the guy he got his fedora from in The Last Crusade than it does Harrison Ford…. 😐
Yea personally I don’t like the face print, they should’ve taken Han Solo and added stubble, and the hat is weirdly tall.
@@Itsbonkkers yesss
Yup
Fr fr I put the OG Indy head on instead 😎
@@Itsbonkkershave you not seen the film… his hat has always been tall

The skin printing for under his shirt looks better on the older figures too. And his face looks more like a baby face in the 2023 one
The old figure is way better, and that’s not nostalgia speaking

@@joevictor53tbf Harrison looked pretty young in raiders the facial hair actually made him look younger at that age than he looked shaved

please put the old Indy face on the new figure, I wanna see what it looks like!

The old Ark with the bucket handles for the angel wings like the new one would be perfect
It's so cursed for me to see Lego Indy without his small beard, grown up with the Lego Indiana Jones games
Something that i would love to do is catalog which pieces belong to which sets and comebine the 2 so that way it has the play features of both as well as making it a bigger set
dam i was so young when this came out, a 20 dollar lego set back then was a 100 dollar lego set to me now lol i thought this was so much more expensive.
the new hat hair combo looks more like garth ( the guy that gave young indy his hat ) than indy himself.
TBH I think it's the new face and not the new hat
Exactly, I think the old face looks a lot more like Harrison Ford than the new one

I'd replace Indie's head. The old head works more.
nostalgia is poison.
Cool sets!
The old Indiana Jones sets are impossible to buy now a days, good luck for the few that got the originals
Thought the original minifigs are definitely more nostalgic, it's hard to argue the new ones aren't better, though I actually prefer the older set to the new one idk what it is
Another pro of the new set is the inclusion of Sallah, who wasn't in the original set.
a so cool video and Great Sets but the New one is better 🤩👍
The old set had the R2 and 3PO sticker covering two tiles... why LEGO why?!?😢
The new Indiana Jones fig oddly to me looks younger
Love your stuff

im just glad i got myself an indiana jhones and that ww2 plane

Do... do you WANT to have your face melted off?
It’s ok to say the new one is better without saying the original is not good anymore. To me the new was is amazing the old one is good for the time.
Love your vids bro. But man you need put minifigs heads on facing forward 🤣
I have both the old wii games for Indiana Jones. I wish I had old Indiana Jones sets
I'm so happy I have both the fred Myers where I live by had the new lego sets out now there gone

Well 31 dollars on Amazon for a licensed Lego set with 4 exclusive figs is more than reasonable

It needs more likes
I think i buy the new ohne. it‘s a great deal for this. 🤩👍
Mummy got a six pack 💪
I like the old one more for some reason
Unpopular opinion but I vastly prefer the new figure in all aspects except the belt section
The old set is so much more charming. I honestly prefer it
He just touched the arc...
I actually think the old hair looks better on the new but the new one on the old one does.
Might buy new set idk for the figures

Old fig with new hat. Indy doesn't smile with his teeth
Bo catan dies in the new episode of mand
