On a side not who would have thought that two African would interview each other on an American television network and the Americans watch thats a milestone on its own
This just gave me goosebumps. Underrated comment.
🔥🔥🔥🇿🇦
Indeed brother
Maaan! it is something!!!
More Americans want to just hear intelligent conversations from a person of melinated pigment with a different perspective. We should direct the narrative as well.
My parents are from Limpopo. I was raised in Soweto. This interview just brought me to tears 'cause Nelson is from Limpopo and Trevor is from Soweto. I am inspired beyond belief.
i knew from his accent
BLACK CHILD, IT'S POSSIBLE!
Let’s collabo
I felt a connection with Makamo and he makes me feel proud of being African especially South African. The final hand gesture sums it up.
Speeka Thapelo my brother I remember as a child that wept when I saw what happened with apartheid. Oh lord this is like heaven for me
Black child, your dreams are VALID 🔥✊🏽🇿🇦

A South African interviewing another South African at International Level is a Blessing👑👑👑👑👑

It's Great really it is😊
Proud African. Kenya representing. Liking this brother from SA
he sounds like Kenyan too.
nah he doesn't sound kenyan. i don't even think there is a kenyan accent
tariku geleta we are same people khenya they are our brothers and sisters Bantu nation all the way
Be proud but be united!
Seeing fellow South Africans anywhere is always so wholesome.
I'm not South African but i feel the same way.
How about fellow Africans
He should make a clothing line so black people can pull away from the white man's clothing.
@@marinearenaswimmingpools5320 no South African but not African
@THETRUTH202 Thank you ; We love you too & wish we could prosper, Over come the lack of believe & confidence.
when Africans are successful pride oozes from my heart
Bro. That's the realest thing I've heard in a while. ✊🏿
ndizvo baba
ME TOO AND I’M BLACK, FROM SC! My heart is so full seeing the Queen (Africa) come into her own! More more more more please! That beauty of Africa was always there! Man began there! God chose Her (Africa)!
I could listen to Nelson Makamo for hours. Not only is he a wonderful artist, he is a great speaker and oral history-teller. He reminds me of our Native Elders. He speaks with purpose, lessons, perspective and wisdom waaayy beyond his years
You can say that again, I've been checking on his interviews just to listen to him talk
@MoralesFamilyRez, that right there is the art too!
This is full circle. Makes me a proud South African 💙💙
🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Seeing artists like this push me to work on my Galerie in the coming years. Africa stand up 🔥🇿🇲
From all the constructive work you would have been doing, you decided to take Offence from a comment that literally had nothing to do with your view 😂😂😂...take a chill pill. I'm African btw
Good luck.! From a fellow African 🇿🇦
@@f2carter93 So you are a troll? Constructive work? Who said anything on that subject? I did not. Your words ... not mine.
So you took offence. Unless you are a troll who commits ad hominem attacks? No offence taken here at all. You told Africans to stand up as if they run around on all 4's like animals. Your words ... not mine. Instead of getting a education where you could have been taught not to write offence properly without a capital letter for no reason you went out attacking people online who stand for others from your slander they are not even walking upright.
And no unlike you I do not use drugs. You are not African. Real Afrikaners all know they walk on two legs and do not need to stand for anything. Cos they already mastered standing up like a million years ago?
Yea tell everyone here what you 'constructed' then? Oooh is it nothing? Yes yes it is and we will never see any proof of any sort of contruction done by you.
@@MrFlatage Ciao
@@f2carter93 Haha yes I have been to the real Africa you never seen in your life. Yea 'ciao' is used in another country and we all know it.
Grow a pair of balls untill you can call yourself a man? Learn to stand for your own words and do not be a total a-hole who forces his words ... onto others.
And get a job? You have no job cos you talk cheap about construction? But we see nothing.
Now I stand with Africa and every human being in Africa who like all other humans on this planet has known to stand up before written history even. You can run around on all 4s if you like like some kind of animal.
Too bad you clearly took offence and even used that word for yourself and no one else. ;-)
thanks Trevor. you did not forget to lift others up when you got to the top. This is the real African love. God bless you
Yeah that's true
People r too blind to see that
Am I the only one who noticed his initials on his jumper? Mad! 😍😍
I didnt notice d initial...was just looking for a comment on his jumper..its artistic n so lit💥

I don't understand why you loving China cause those people look at black people just like the white people they don't like ya black ass...stop loving on all these other people and love ya self more....just say! But this is why we as a people are so defeated cause we loving everyone and underneath they hate us and want everything about us and for us.....just trying to help you think.
@Blue Wolf love that😁100%
@Laffin Hyena
So who are you referring to...to drop a whatspp? Me or blue wolf but i don't have one.
Nelson's such an inspiration, and a deep man too. Love his message and his beautiful work. Proudly South African 🇿🇦
So heart-warming to see Africa rising. Love from Botswana 🇧🇼💞
I may not be South African, but I feel proud, cz South Africa’s so close man. I feel like South Africa’s a sibling, and so I feel proud 😢
Where you from?
Sokapase M Namibia
Argh, you're as good as twin bro
Sokapase M might as well right😂
Lol you are our sibling.
Glad this is the first thing I watched today

Suhail Dada I can’t believe you’re still alive Stuzzy!!
First thing I've watched today too.
he's very eloquent and intelligent....and his works...wow. that's a REAL artist
I can tell you were expecting something else.
Eloquent?...speaking.well?...stop that please...
Africans are all intelligent..
@@MRSI1980 they said the same thing about Obama lol
Yeah, don't act like Africans aren't expected to speak well or be intelligent, its racist.
That accent!!!! Yaaaaassssss! I can’t wait to go home!! 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 counting down the days! #SAbornandbred
That's us my fellow sister
Yo homie 🇿🇦🙋🏽♀️
Where in the world are you?..just being curious 😊
I'm actually tearing up!! So proud to be South African!!
My husband bought me one of his pieces when we first met
I am so happy and to be a proud South African who is living in Prague by watching my fellow South Africans to become so amazing and so super talented. 🇿🇦🇿🇦 And make our country proud and beautiful.
👌✌️My sister
Would have been nice if we saw his art...
Edit: NelsonMakamo.com is his website for anyone interested. His style really seems to invoke a lot of emotion.
Thank you!😀
Kevin Sargent Check out other African artists.
They did show it at 4:15
Thanks a lot. The eyes are all beautiful!
Look for him on Instagram. You'll see his art. Nelson Makamo
I drop tears as I watch two of my country men, having not an interview, but a chat on the world stage🙏🙏
''The image of an African child was portrayed globally either Hungry or disadvantaged and if you have been to Africa , you will realized non of those things is almost a Taboo'' - Thank you Nelson for clarifying that part. Proudly South African.
Love from Angola 🇦🇴👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
South Africans making it big I'm just so proud as a fellow South African 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
an artists that uses his platform to bring up his country?? very refreshing
Felt deeply captivated by this. You can feel the words holdin weight.
Trevor navigated this interview so well. Bringing more awareness to this amazing artist, and his beautiful work. ❤️
As a Limpopian, This makes me extremely proud 🙌🏿
I’m an artist myself and I love to see art from around the world. This is beautiful and his art work is great!
well said Nelson , really shows how real artist are truly inspired, culture doesn't influence art, art comes from within
Shine your light you rising star!
So there were three South Africans in this show - the third being the SA designer of the amazing sweater Nelson is wearing called MaXhosa - just bursting with pride
He's called Laduma. The brand is MaXhosa. Thanks for the mention. So much talent!
If Picasso was inspired by African art, and African art was inspired by Picasso, can it be fair to say... African art is back in the original hands of The giver? 🤔
Frankie Loyd, you are wright...I mean right.
Yes, you would be surprise how many things were stolen from us but now we all over the world is finally getting our passions out.
@@missapril9889 physical art pieces were taken but the idea of art wasn't.
@@offcolour3814 Yet they took it...🤔🤔
That's like exactly the opposite of what he said, art is universal and at the end it doesn't matter who has what from who, because you can't be in possesion of art.
It is crazy what he said about technology and art. I'm actually preparing a presentation on that. I going to put a picture of him in my slide along with a short clip of this video. Wow!
He's a visual artist, but he speaks like a poet. Absolutely amazing. Africa! Africa is the future.
I hope Trevor uses his platform to promote more SA artists
Unfortunately this is American show in America just be happy that he's being allowed to do that once in a while
My favorite interview this far... bit by bit Africa is showing the world there is more to us than just being a " shitty continent" . Take that Mr Trump
shitty continent my ass...I wouldn't wanna move to any other place honestly
All places have their advantages and disadvantages.
Ohhh yesssss babe
@@lovingme8867
No doubt. Good weather, good people, good food and the nature here is also beautiful. This is the place to be. Africa is rich with culture.
Absolutely, love this interview! Artistical Intelligence! Many blessings to Nelson Makamo!
Art is indeed a universal language of love. Great to see Africans being brilliant on world stages.
Well done Nelson. This is so inspirational!!
Beautiful Artist And His Work AFRICA FOREVER
Highly impressed with Nelson, inspiring staff. Go South Africa 🇿🇦
What a beautiful artist...WoW!
Africa to the world✊😍💓
I’ve never seen Trevor work this hard to control an interview- notice his “rights” constantly and then his brief interruptions seeking to clarify and redirect? This was obviously important to him and something that made him nervous.
I agree.
Much respect to Nelson! Seems like a cool dude. He was killing me with how many times he used "ACTUALLY" during the end of the interview though 🤣
Ahhhh my heart ❤❤❤❤ love from sudan 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤❤
I respect Trevor Noah for actually letting the interviewee talk for once. Refreshing of a night show host to do that
Right? Nelson spoke 95% of the time.
But I’ve never heard Trevor interrupt so much and say filler words like “right.” Trevor is clearly uncomfortable with his choice to have this interview.
from his accent only i can tell this guy is a Tsonga{ Limpopo} proud of you my brother
DX doctor x Makamo is a Tsonga surname.
Ngu Mzulu, that is one and the same thing to me 😅😅
Thank you Nelson Makamo for voicing out with your talent 👏
Thanks for this interview Trevor! As an African child this inspires me to push harder beyond measures...

Two South African accents on one show. Now you know America

He said *on one show,* gee!
This is quite the time to be alive. Two authentic south african accents on one american show at the same time...amazing
Charlize Theron was also on the show, but she's afrikaans

Absolutely proud South African 💚💛

That sweater is art. I'm crazy for the design!
Made by a designer called MaXhosa here in SA
This guy is smart and I like how cool he can speak❤🇿🇦
I loved how he explained himself. I would like to watch more such artist, educator, scientist. I am tired of watching politicians and actress.
Oh he is so humble and shy

It's amazing to see another South African like Trevor making a name for themselves and being epitomes of success. Hopefully we will continue to see even bigger and better things from him😊
Trevor is a true reflection of what the African Dream is about. Helping brother's and Sister's to showcase what we're about at that higher stage that is America and beyond. Well done Trevor.
Thank you for shearing this video thanks Trevor and Nelson you are giving us inspiration as you up coming young Artists ... from SA 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
