It's extremely hard to sign players with a view to helping a team win promotion from the championship into the premiership and even maintain a level consistency at a higher level. Cannon is a good signing for the Blades. But will he become a player who can play on the shoulder of a Premier player and stretch the game. Hopefully.
Regards signings it’s how they fit a club. For example Cannon would hardly get a game at Leeds so not needed there. However we are so light on strikers. Campbell has been brilliant a lately but can’t be relied upon to play due to injuries. Basically we were desperate for even an average level striker who is fit enough to play every week. Also his style is different to what we have. So for this club in our situation it’s an excellent buy and just what we needed. Another positive is that he’s young and ambitious, so should improve.
Totally overated at 10 million plus add ons. Didn't make it at Leicester in the Premier League. A lot to prove. As a Sunderland supporter good luck for this season. Cannon had the opportunity to join the Sunderland revolution and chose Sheffield United. I think the closer proximity to Sheffield was also a big factor.That is his choice good luck to him. The striker search goes on.
We've massively overspent on him. 10-13 mil for one half decent season so far at Stoke is laughable. Fees these days are a joke for players. We need more midfielders and defenders in as reinforcement. Dread to think what we'll overspend on players in the premier league.

Could also argue that we had a Saudi owner, they are owned by the Saudi PIF and we had money problems so bad example to start with. Clubs are reportedly looking at Oné and only thing he's done more than Osula is score a league goal.
