This set of questions was filmed at the same time (clearly he is wearing the same cloths) and Omar's mom recently died so I'm guess he was with his family when these were being filmed.
Those are a few of my favs. all brilliant. my descriptions aren't the best for each album, but if love TMV, you cannot go wrong with these albums. As for connections within omar's songs - "A Story Teeth Rotted For" has some teflon riffs in it... ah there are a few more but I can't remember. once you start listen and dissecting the songs you hear a riff here and riff there, a drum beat or something. It's awesome to see the progression.
Thanks a lot, I had forgotten about Cryptomnesia haha yeah I would agree with your description. I think I'm going to check out Solar Gambling, visually it is just striking and I've been interested in it. Ill check out some of the others too, thanks again
Has anyone noticed that "Empty Vessels..." sounds a bit like "Maggot Brain"? I think that connection is totally awesome, regardless if it was intentional or not
Cryptomnesia (w/ cedric and zach hill... incredible, aggressive and wacky), Tychozorente (w/ Xemina Sarinana... this is a more electronic album, with synths and beats. really beautiful songs), Omar Rodriguez Lopez (second in his solo discog, its a yellow cover, made when he was in Amsterdam, some fun jams on that), Se Dice Bisonte, No Bùfalo (w/ cedric some of the time, great album) and Solar Gambling (also with Ximena, incredible album all the way through)
That's interesting, what connections have you found? By the way, what album would be a good one to go to next? Ive listened to "A Manuel Dexterity" "Old Money" and "Sepulcros De Miel". There are so many albums hah
"Some days I feel like Sunday morning, some days I feel like Saturday night."
The duality of the human condition people. Love this

I can hear it. I love when this happens, especially within Omar's solo work.
FUCK YEAH FUNKADELIC. They would have to be the band I would see.

According to them The Mars VOlta is Cedric AND Omar.
The Nation of Ulysses were awesome.
Go back and listen to both with subtle ears and you'll find the similarities. They aren't obvious, but they are there.
cool. no problem, hope you enjoy. check out some of the pro shot live videos of ORLG performing some stuff from solar gambling too

Omar was Mars Volta when they promoted Octahedron

When did the Mars Volta become Cedric? Where's Omar?
What advice would you give to someone who suffers from writers block and what do you do if you find yourself with this problem?
Making more albums.
maybe Omar didnt want to answer those questions.
Omar: would mind sharing some guitar effects you used on this album?
His mom died i think, he's away.
BUILD A TARDIS CEDRIC!!!! :P
You do know he likes Doctor Who right?
ya if you have some insight at this problem then go ahead and share with me....i highly doubt i would hear anything from him anyways lol
Why don't you sing in Spanish anymore?
It really really really doesn't
xD
f... ok not
we are never going to see this again because Omar talks to much!! Listen to what the man has to say!
