Totally with you, recently I was sat next to two women doing commentary and giggling through the entire first 15 minutes of a film and when I asked them politely to please stop talking, they literally started yelling at me to not start fights and to move away if I didn’t like it 💀 I don’t understand how people can be so self-obsessed and awful
To be honest, these days it's best to escalate this to staff or move seats rather than risk confrontation. Who knows which of these unhinged people are hiding a zombie knife in their jacket. Be safe out there, people.
I pretty much always find that Odeon is the WORST for rude customers or people on their phone throughout the film, even if their screen isn't bright or anything. I'd recommend going to watch a movie earlier in the day, as well- more people tend to go to the cinema at night! It does depend what type of film it is, or how popular it is. Horror films I find have either a really respectful audience or one that doesn't care if they're talking or on their phones or whatever, it's the only times I've been in a cinema that is packed especially if it's past a morning showing of one!
100% agree with your cinema rant. Until I saw Longlegs and Alien Romulus last month, I hadn’t been to the cinema for 3 years. The last two times I went to an Odeon, it just angered me and put me off going - Teenagers on phones, talking loudly and bright screens ruining my experience. Like you say it costs about £30 to go. The Longlegs and Alien showings were great. No talking, no phones - but I now know I’m due a bad experience again soon 😅
Couldn’t agree more. Haven’t been to the cinema in 4 years. I miss it but people are just so rude and entitled. Why can’t people just have morals and basic social skills
Agree 1000% to all Of this. Cinema etiquette is so easy and simple and I can’t understand the selfishness of some people. I too would shush others for anything like that once the film starts.
Couldn't agree more mate, I've been living in Japan for a while and I've never been to the cinema more than I have here, absolutely no noise or mess. Be sure to go to the cinema when you manage to travel over here!
100% agree. People need to Learn it's not acceptable. Hate to say it but as a Odeon Limitless Member, not enough is done about it in comparison to other Cinema chains.
Lockdown made things worse but it’s as you say been YEARS 2019 a woman sat on her Facebook for 40 minutes & 3 people clearly went out to tell staff, they came in & she stayed on it, just dimmed it Since re-opening - I’ve seen people bring blankets with them & I’ve seen people take shoes & socks off in the cinema I’ve seen a guy try set fire to the chair ahead of him The worst behaviour I’ve seen however was membership screenings Cinemas I’ve been to dont tend to kick people out which is a shame
10:13 This one gave me a chuckle. Completely agree, I don't go to the cinema often but if I'm in there, my phone is completely off. If it's an emergency, leave the room to address it, if not, get off your phone. Simple
Completely agree with you. I don’t spend all that money to watch a film for it to be interrupted by talking or phones. I just wish I have the balls to say something to them. LOL!! Though I’m fairly lucky, not had it that bad. 🤞🏻
Agree with all of your points. Went to an annivesary showing of Sixth Sense a few months back and the whole time there were these teen girls chatting and giggling loudly in the back. Like what's the point in spending hard-earned money if you aren't going to pay attention to the film??
im not sure where you're going to the cinema location wise, as tickets where I am are around £17 for an IMAX ticket im basing this off cineworld aswell since you mentioned you went to an odean cinema. seems like you're london based or somewhere. needless to say my experience at the cinema from the last few months has been rather pretty satisfactory where people are only on thier phones during the ads and trailers. once the movie starts everyone from that point on is silent. I think it can be based on location. if its a rough area then you will get the mornic individuals that come in and spoil your experience. I used to abstain from public confrontation but when im paying £30 worth of the movie ticket, popcorn and the travel. Im going to make sure my experience is good and tell anybody that is on their phone or talking to shush.

the only time i knew that they were a thing was from that scientist tiktokker encouraging people to hand them in and he melts one down
Reminds me of that scene from Scary Movie when Brenda was in the cinema
Early morning films is where it's at! No annoying people, just people that love films and respect cinema etiquette *chefs kiss

The light from other people's phones drives me nuts

I've never walked in the Cinema and not immediate turned my phone off. Can't imagine having it in my hand and checking it every few minutes.

Bro what cinema are you going too that people set fire to a chair? 😂
I always get comfy and take my shoes off lol sorry
An issue is though that people can severely overreact if you tell them to get off the phone - a guy bit someone at a Cineworld
Broccoli head on snapchat 😂 nailed it. But great video rant. Totally agree. Especially as i worked at Odeon for 7 years

The best part of the cinema is disconnecting and turning off your phone. If you can’t go without it. Wait till it’s on streaming
Everytime someone goes on their phone in the cinema its 100% to doom scroll social media. No one has ever used their phone in an emergency

People nowadays haven’t heard the simple saying “fuck around and find out”
Where did you watch interstellar 10th anniversary? I thought it wasn’t coming out until December 6th now? Love your videos btw

I completely agree, it's great to hear the commen sense!
If people are talking next weekend when I go to see Joker 2, I am going to lose it
Totally agree, people need to watch the film and that’s it.
To right , I had the same experience watching interstellar the other night 😡🤛
Spot on mate !

Yeah but everyone isn't autistic like you about films.
Weird way to admit you’re a moron but okay
