You are low on health. Then you deside to sacrifice him and get the cape. You get to the caves and slip off of the ice and save your life with the cape. If you taked the dog to the exit that fall would be lethal. So now you should understand why Lion is better.
I looked it up, and apparently if you have the hedjet item, in addition to it's listed effect there, it also prevents ghosts from showing up. (Effectively, it seems to remove the timer of the levels, so the ghost never shows up and you can take your time exploring instead.) But, if you use it with the scepter later in the game to get into the city of gold, you lose the benefits of the item... and the ghosts can start appearing again after due to that. Just FYI.
You should try to never hold down the run button unless you have to make a jump or something, so that you get more time to think before you jump down in front of a arrow trap or get a spider to fall down on you.

NL, using a bomb to get a damsel is not a waste but a good use of a bomb. You should always make this trade unless you would run out of enough bombs to achieve something you have set.

Theres alot of things that can kill you instantly , like platforms crushing you , alien tanks and physcic alien squids but if you can get past them you will end up in the Alien Queen liar, if you can kill her you will get a plasma laser that is like a rocket launcher
Who cares who's better? I don't watch him to see him complete the game, I watch it because I enjoy the commentary and the gameplay, good or not. Ever watched someone play a game without any flaw in the gameplay? It's boring as hell.

Man, please think thoroughly and look at the whole map. Sometimes I see the key or exit, and you miss it an go the wrong way. The alter had a yeti beside it, you could have sacrificed. The shotgun at the shop would make killing Anubis way easier.
