I just got one for £330 in mint condition a few days ago. I love the 70-200mm lenses. I got this because my Tamron f2.8 version is sooo heavy and the photography I do (horse and rider stuff) f2.8 to f3.5 isnt really much use to me. Side note... If on a budget, look out for the Canon EF 70-210 f3.5 USM lens (not the earlier sliding scale version). It works really well for like £60!
Can’t believe this didn’t get more comments. I’m a photographer, and you hit the nail on the head every time. For me, it’s the IS f4 mark i. I’ve thought about the 2.8, but you loose a great deal of focal plane. 🤔 it’s tough
This video comparison really impressed me and so..... I've subscribed. I'm thinking of buying one of the used Mark 1's in excellent condition, for my wife this Christmas in 2023. The rubber gasket is what sold me. God bless!!!
Well I was lucky enough to find a store at Edinburgh airport selling their last first gen IS model at huge discount. So instead of £818 UK it was only £518 and it was a brand new boxed unit. At that kinda deal it’s a no brainer
Hey, great review! Anyways, I have a chace to purchase this lens in great optical and mechanical condition, no internal dust, mold or scratches. The price is 500€ including the hood, tripod collar and an uv-filter. The serial number indicates that this particular lens is manufactured in 2006. Is the price okay considering the age? Thanks!
Would you still consider this lens?
I’m currently considering it to adapt to my LUMIX G85
Potentially
Just bought it yesterday, quite happy with it
5 years later, absolutely YES! Bought the IS version for €400😊

I'm hoping to pick up the f4 version in the not-too-distant future.

Which camera was used for those awesome shots ??
Hi, should I buy this len used or the tamron 70-210 f/4 brand new? Which one is a better len ?
up
What camera were you using to take the snaps?
I saw that you were using a sony a7iii with MC-11 adapter. How well does this combo work exactly, would you say it's as good as a native lens?
It doesn't really, just for tests. It doesn't work at all with video. Not a supported lens.
Great video, just curious about one thing.
What do you men about colour as a con?
Shheeeeed I'm trying to find out if it's worth buying in 2020
Ditto
OC Imaging I actually bought one a couple of months ago and I don't regret it. The image quality is better than the 70-200 2.8 IS version one.
I don’t doubt it, I got some okay photos out of a kit 75-300 lens so I am sure that this L series glass would be great
I’ve CANON 6D with 50mm f/1.4 lens
I would like to buy new zoom lens can you please suggest me one
Budget would be 500-600$
Don't discount the 24-105mm L. I used it for years and it served me well.
@@StefanMalloch suggest me telephoto zoom lens focal length of at least 200mm
Prime or zoom? What do you shoot?
@@StefanMalloch zoom. i need to cover a person speaking on the stage. street, travel
the issue with lens is factory fault. I suggest buying this lens under warranty only.
