Thank you, Kevin, for another brilliant video, providing the in-depth history of the cocktail, helping to separate this channel from so many other RUclips cocktail/bartending channels. And we get not one, not two, not three, but FOUR versions of the cocktail! You, Kevin, are a bartender's bartender: the personification of style, elegance and grace. Moreover, mentioning that "the stemmed glass is already chilling in the freezer" from the perspective of the stemmed glass hearing the muffled statement is a subtle comedic genius of a masterful storyteller and consummate video producer.
My version is similar, but slightly different: 1oz Pierre Ferrand Ambre (or 10 Generations) 1oz Solerno Blood Orange liquor 1oz fresh lemon juice (or lemon Super Juice) I find the Solerno is sweet enough on its own since I don't care for sweet cocktails. Add a bit of syrup if you prefer your cocktails sweeter. I love this channel! 🙂
One of my favourite cocktails, but I make it a bit different at the bar! 60ml Cognac (Courvoisier) 30ml Lemon juice 30ml Cointreau -> that‘s the perfect cocktail, in my opinion 👍🏽 -> Served in a big couped glass It‘s perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too sour
I'm going for the Modern Sidecar first! These versions are all so interesting Kevin! The Modern is a sentimental favourite! It's the recipe from the first Sidecar I ever had! It was at a lovely occasion and so it brings special memories!! Delicious!! Fabulous video!! Thanks so much! Cheers! 🙂
I can tell the modern variation is more balanced. It shows how cocktails are alive and evolving. It's always a balancing act playing with citrus and sweetness.
Cognac 40ml Grand Marnier 30ml Fresh squeezed lemon juice 20ml Demerara syrup 5ml(optional) Good shake/fine strain in a frozen cocktail glass No garnish
I've been making a lot of sidecars for the past few weeks. Mostly the modern pattern, but I retain the sugar rim and don't add any syrup to the drink. Can't beat it.
There’s a delicious variation that adds Belle de Brillet pear liqueur. Perhaps it replaces the orange liqueur outright? I’m not sure… but this pear variant is really good.

The exclusive! I still haven't tried verjuice so it's a must

Thank you so much!! It means a lot to me and the whole Cocktail Time team! Cheers!
Sidecars and exploring the past? This feels like an Indiana Jones movie 🤩!
Oh yesss!

I must admitt that i love your glassware.
I really likes that old style ornamented glasses.
These are mostly from a second hand shop. I love this vintage vibe in glassware too! Cheers!

best Sidecar video on YT
Fantastic video once again - this is one of my favorite cognac drinks. Some great info and ideas here ... I'll need to try some of them out.
Thanks! Fantastic drink indeed! Cheers!
Love the blood orange juice idea!

Excellent episode Kevin, 🍸
thanks!
😂 made one last night at my work, love em. Even have clarified lemon juice 😋 love old world drinks

I recently learned the Sidecar was listed on the First Class cocktail menu for the Cafe Parisienne on the Titanic - 1912.
Cognac 40ml
Grand Marnier 30ml
Fresh squeezed lemon juice 20ml
Demerara syrup 5ml(optional)
Good shake/fine strain in a frozen cocktail glass
No garnish
thank you for sharing!
This is a great recipe and I do the same thing but I still add the sugar rim 😊
The last cocktail could be even more exclusive with a homemade Cocktail Time orange liqueur 😬
Well pointed out. Thanks for the tip!
Great idea! So I have to do a 'superb' version next! 😀
My favourite cognac cocktail is the French 75 with cognac instead of gin.
Love “This is the booziest of the bunch!”
That euvs site looks pretty cool. Cheers 🥂

You actually can, by removing the sugar rim and add syrup
I use orange marmalade. Works very well.
Where are these cocktail glasses from? Can you start including the source of your glassware in the video notes? You have so many great pieces!!
There’s a delicious variation that adds Belle de Brillet pear liqueur. Perhaps it replaces the orange liqueur outright? I’m not sure… but this pear variant is really good.
3:34 cleaning the top of the cointreau helps the presentation
First! Love your video as always Kevin!!
Yay! Thank you!
I know it's fairly easy to get, but I'd love to see a recipe for brandy-based curaçao/Grand Marnier
noted 😉
La última versión me gusta más 💪
🍸
I have been trying to make a foam but it keeps melting anyone have a way to make this not happen? And holds it shape
Does anyone know how to make my isi cream bit melt so damn fast?
🍸🍸
🏍
just made the modern sidecar.. every time i have a sidecar i think ‘i’d rather have a champs elysses’ maybe it’s just me
Unpopular opinion:
If there is a thing I hate, it's sugared rims.
Thank you for the modern variations. The historical ones are just not my taste ❤
Великолепный коктейль. Только все версии разом пробовать нельзя, а то можно устать.
