the polar opposite of me driving an old van as my first car lol. I wish it had a more modern and smoother gearbox and stick. It's nothing like in these new cars

I have a Susuki Celerio 2018 (manual shift) and its amazing how useful is, mostly in city. This types of cars are small enough for city driving, comfortable, soft, responsive, economic and of course kinda beautiful. This Hyundai i10 is a good choise for those who want something economic but worthy.
Where are you living?
I like these cars with little engines. They're really useful in the city traffic and you can use them too for extra urban travels. ( My first car was a Golf mk1 1.5 diesel with 50 cv and I remember I used to do 1000 kms in a weekend without any problem....
Small displacement engines are the ones to buy. It's stupid to buy the V6 or V8 gass guzzlers.

@@FESoul I wouldn't say stupid to buy, but stupid to daily. Great weekend cars but not something I want to commute on the regular in, that's what the small runabouts are for.

I absolutely love it, had it 5yrs & I’m never changing it. Steering on the right side, I drive 400 miles every month on £35 petrol ⛽️ at night when I turn the light on, the interior of the car lights up in blue, it’s amazing 🤩
Do you have the 1.0?? Is it good enough for driving on the highway? I do like the sound of the 3 cylinder engine 🙂

I just got this exact car as my first car (2014 model) I am also a learner and fell in love driving in the lesson (2019) which helped me buy it in the end for trying out my Mums Kona recently to try out the automatic side. Since driving the Kona I fell in love with Hyundai’s at the moment.

Why is this so satisfying 😍
As a city car the Grand i10 is stunning. It is a bit underpowered on highways (mainly uphills because of the low torque) and subject to wind (I'm assuming because of the shape, ride height and 15-inch wheels). Other than those 2 minor complaints, its a perfect little car: handles like a dream, clutch and gears are smooth and easy to adapt to, and it's got a decent kick in 1st - 3rd gears.
Bought one in 2016. Good value for money, for what it is.

I also have one, but it was built in 2018, was already a change from a larger car to the small one, but I like it.

I've been looking for ages for a POV camera that can produce THIS level of high quality video 🌷
Last time I drove m/t hyundai it was really smooth and easy to get along. Had so much fun and enjoyed it compared to my m/t toyota it's harder to shift and clutch pedal is in heavier side.
In India it comes as grand i10, it gets engine options of 1.2 naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.0 turbo petrol engine, 1.2 CNG engine and 1.2 turbo diesel engine.

You were driving on super high revs and not reducing your gear at red light. In my country that's considered dangerous driving as you can loose control braking on neuter gear.
You need the revs because of lack of HP.

I drive Grand i10 in New Delhi, India. It is a solid and sturdy car. People now a days don't need more than 1200 CC car for daily drives. Love from India 🇮🇳

I luv hyundai and my latest is a near new hyundai i30. It was a very nice roomy and quiet car with low consumption. Shame that as soon as I sent the car in for the first service, the mechanics ruin it by re-tuning the car which is already factory tuned to perfection. It then becomes noisier and consumption of fuel went down from 440 miles per tank to 370 miles per tank. I think the mechanics at hyundai does not need to re tune any new car unless it is necessary becos it is factory set tuning. The mechanics should just do the oil change, brakes and other bits and leave the original engine as it is.

India it's 82 BHP in petrol & 74 BHP in Diesel
A friend's dad has an I10 , 1000cc , 3 cylinder, 66hp, bought new in 2016. Despite driving smoothly, respecting the maintenance intervals this engine is a disaster. Very high oil consumption! A little more than a litre consumed per 1000 km. The whole segmentation needs to be revised, because the oil goes into the cylinders. The car has only 80.000 km.
