It's weird, when I first saw people talking about this game I assumed it was a mobile game or something, I didn't realize it was supposed to be like a legit console game.
I was even more surprised when I found out it wasn't a tie-in with the current Monsterverse, but apparently it's tied in with the books Dark Horse published in the early 2000s (I think they may still be publishing some books or comics, but I'm not sure).
I actually do have the original book, Kong: King of Skull Island, which is both a sequel and prequel to the 1933 movie, and I'd recommend fans of King Kong or kaiju in general give it a chance if you can find it somewhere.
Once I realized that, it made more sense why Kong in this game seems more like a larger-than-average monkey, similar to the original movie, instead of the big giant Titanus Kong from the Monsterverse. Unfortunately, it seems like this game doesn't do the books justice in terms of translating the rich world and ecosystem they created for Skull Island into a game. Even the damn deathrunners seem like they're just minor bosses, instead of the intelligent villains they were in the books that wiped out the Kongs and hunted humans.

Its a baby game, its very evident from the toon shaded Graphics, the very simple progression, the very simple gameplay loop and the very very simple story, even the way the narrator is reading the story as like she's reading a story book to young children
Then why is it rated T for teen?
