  • The initial checkout of a Honeywell 3-speed electrically reversible twin window fan model HW-628. This is very similar to the one shown previous that had electronics controls. This one, in my opinion, is the superior model. Unlike the electronics controls version, this one is much easier to use, and has distinct, quiet speeds. Very impressive air flow too, especially for the noise level.

I used to have this exact fan. I think the motor burnt out in it years ago but I love this fan.

That seems like a pretty good window fan. I'll have to keep a look out for one.

This is definitely a better option than the Holmes HAWF-2021.

I have this exact fan and i am looking to take it apart not because its broken but to keep it running optimally ... I do love these (even the typical single small black ones) small honeywell fans ... i just really want to clean and lubricate it like i do with the other ones i have

I will be showing a clean and service video of this unit likely sometime in the Spring.

I have this exact fan, except under the duracraft brand.

I never understood why they sold the same thing under multiple different names.

We had several of these when I was younger. All of them but one were Honeywells, and the other one was a Duracraft. I specifically remember the Duracraft one having a broken blade on one of the fans, it was about a third of one of the blades that was missing. Depsite it being a bit off balance and being the oldest one, that was the last one of them we had still in service. I have no idea what happened to it or the others. I know they probably didn't get thrown out as we always repaired stuff when it broke. I think there's a chance a friend of ours took it years ago and is still using it. I'd like to find another one as these were always very solid fans.

I used to have the duracraft virson backing the middle 2010s and I used it until the plastic yellowed to the point it broke. When it was bairly bumped. Still to this day it's the only fan in my collection that had continuous duty that wasn't a ceiling fan, that fan ran months on end before it's death when it was replaced by a 12" Duracraft what I still have to this day.

This will probably end up seeing a lot of use this summer, being one of very few fans that actually fit in my tiny windows. I have a Duracraft 12" and even that doesn't fit.

These remind me of the SMC or current Hampton Bay window fans because of the blades and overall design.

True it will probably be a pain to clean but once it’s serviced it should be a good fan for the windows this summer.
