In one of your videos you said to put hanging baskets in a bucket of water. They'll absorb the water thru the cocco liner. This has saved my hanging baskets in this hot summer. They look full and healthy. Thanks Jenny.
I have a Legend of the Small. Planted in an area that doesn’t get a lot of sun and it’s doing ok. It’s only the 2nd year for the shrub so I hope it leaps next year.
I live in the North East but I wanted to say Thank You for your videos...and Thank you for also not forgetting us up here in New England and talking about what we should do in the colder climates....I look forward to your videos!!
I loved my sweet spire until it started sending out runners at some distance from the plant. I tried cutting them off, but eventually I had to dig the plant out. It just got too widespread for my small garden.
I know this was not meant to be an exhaustive list by any means, just wanted to chime in that the Firelight Tidbit panicle hydrangea also has amazing fall foliage! Provides great interest (in zone 7b) from around mid/late June all the way to mid November with the gorgeous color change. 💮🍂🌿 Thanks for sharing Jenny...i can hardly wait to get my hands on a beautyberry and a seven son flower tree!
Good morning, fellow gardeners. I agree the scentlandia is such a beautiful fall looking plant, but beware, it spreads. So make sure to put this in an area that you don't mind it taking over. We are debating on taking it out (sad) because the runners go everywhere.
@@NMgardener Wow. It is that problematic even when grown in more shade in the south? But on the plus side, you can grow camellias and edgeworthia and flowering apricot…
How deep are the roots? Have you thought of using an underground sheet metal to contain it? That’s how I contain bamboo. 4” above ground, 18” underground.
Good afternoon Jenny..I love ❤️ the awesome advice for fall..I am looking forward to fall planting too!! The hydrangeas are absolutely beautiful too!!!
I’ve tried to grow Scentlandia for the past 2 years, but she doesn’t like the extreme heat and wind in West Texas. I have kept her under an umbrella all summer, and she is still just 6 green stems, each less than 6” tall. I’m debating whether to move her to one last location, even though she will get less water, or leave her and hope that next year is better. I’m disappointed, because the pictures all look so beautiful.
I would also consider Aesculus parviflora 'Rogers' and Calycanthus 'Burgundy Spice' ---- if you have the space. And if you don't, the panicle hydrangea Firelight Tidbit
Im only a few seconds in and know this is a gardening channel/video but wanted to say I LOVE your top and it looks great on you! If you don't mind sharing, where did you get the top?
So many of those shrubs are great all season plants. If I planted perfecto mundo azaleas this spring (quart sized, tiny plants) should I clip off the flower buds that have popped up in the last week to focus more on root development?
I have been following you and love and appreciate your professional info about plants for all seasons. Do you offer catalogs?? I live in Central PA. Zone 6. You are so good at what you do. Please get back to me.
Temple of Bloom, I am not familiar with the plant and appreciate the information. It's leaves are like peach tree leaves and bark peels similar to a Madrone, it sounds like?
@@IMOO1896 Thanks for the heads up on using the transcript! I never knew about it and am super excited to be able to use this with my other gardening channels as well! 🥰
These are some fantastic and hardy shrubs you've suggested. Thanks!

So glad it has helped!!!
OMG those hydrangeas in the background are STUNNING!!! 😮❤

There is a native beautyberry (Callicarpa Americana). I believe Pearl Glam might be the imported variety.

Great shrubs. And in my zone 5 ❤
Hi Jenny. I appreciate all your videos. It's a rainy morning in Trinidad. Keep gardening everyone❤.

That must be so sad!! 😢
This is much less of an issue - at least here in New England - if the shrub is planted in part shade ( or very bright shade)
We are in Louisiana.

Good morning, Jenny. You look beautiful! Finally found a small limelight prime and got it in the ground.

Great video as always Jenny!

Thanks for all the great info!😁
Amazing video and beautiful plants
Thanks for this great list, Jenny! Big bird made me laugh.💛 A few of these are on my list in 6a MI. Only wish I had more sun beds.
Great video! I'm going to go look for the Vanilla Spice plant tomorrow!
Thank you for sharing all this great information on these beautiful options. And the recommendation to get our garden joirnals out!
Great informative video.
Great info thank you ☺️
Good morning, Jenny ☕️Great list and, some were already on my list. I’m on the hunt for the “Little Henry” Sweet Spire! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶
Thank you Jenny. I have saved your video for future reference. 🌸💚🙃
Some great plants! I’m definitely adding more shrubs this year and I love that these are natives
I love natives for fall color. I added loads last winter - I’m stoked for this first fall ❤️💙💛💚

We have a beauty berry bush that grows wild here in Florida. Why does the pearl glam not grow in zone 9?

Hidrancia muitos flora
Are these all from proven winners or different brands?
Do those summersweet and sweetspire varieties sucker? I love sweetspire's scent, but the suckering has put me off.
Hi 👋 Jenny
I am looking for full shade shrubs with fall and winter interest.
Some interesting selections, but why so brief a view of each plant, 5 seconds views at least instead of 2 seconds would have been preferable
Love all these. Wish the list was in your description though.
You can look in the show transcript, everything is listed there.

Please give away some of your dahlia seeds

Great information but terrible job on the pictures
Informative video!
