The only reason I owned O+, Cloudfone and I think it was either Torque or Firefly is because of Globe's Loyalty reward giving away free phones for contract extensions for postpaid subscribers. They were just okay phones I mostly used for secondary backups or hotspots.
I own a Cloudfone mobile particularly the Thrillboost line. They are pretty much okay but the ota updates are far more worst compared to budget smartphones nowadays.

My father had 2 O+ phones that lasted for 4-3 years each. The first one died peacefully due to old age/specs, its battery inflated until its efficiency had been drained. The second one had a different reason of dying. For some reason, it kept popping in ads and downloading 18+ apps without any of my father's knowledge like those modern shitty android games that spams ads wherever you touch if you are connected to the internet. Long story short, the O+ sucked ass after 2018 and we never bought from there again.
Around 2010 Cherry Mobile, MyPhone and others are dominating the PH smartphone market meanwhile Oppo and Vivo is not that popular because our beliefs on that year is that "China phones" are cheap and not original but as time goes by Chinese smartphone prove themselves na hindi sila cheap or peke and here we are today mas malakas na ang Oppo Vivo and huawei and hindi na napapansin ang local brands

At that time we already saw phones with 4-8GB of ram. and 32-64 GB of storage. however, they opted to stick to low-spec phones. Cherry Mobile is doing good because of the new flare which can match mid-spec phones in international brands.
Kaya nga I'm going to plan to buy something that is Korean. Bakit? Because buying something that is Mainland Chinese can only fund the Chinese Government through taxes, which will use to manufacture weapons to destroy and enslave the world. Would you a: Make another Smartphone in the coming year or b: Wait till you get enough money or even more so and do some experiment and research on what kind smartphone to make so that you can decease the chances of making mistakes. Like the most of you I would pick B because just like the question I would rather take advantage of the small market share to gain money and while doing that I would also be doing some experiments and research on what kind of smartphone to make and give my customers. The Local brands like CM, CF, SM, and SKK, just has a very hard time to make new phones because of the small market share thus the result of most of them releasing lesser to no phones each year. But for CM who doesn't actually make Smartphones in the PH and is somewhat *I think* a sister/brother brand to Ulephone or maybe CM just doesn't know how to make smartphones since they don't have that much knowledge in making one in the 1st place but thanks to this they are able to just take a smartphone in China and bring in to PH and slap their brand on it. But unlike CM other brands like SM make their phones in the PH and because of that they have more things to pay like the manufacturing of their phones, renting places to establish their stores, paying taxes, the cost of shipping their products and maintaining a fair but of connection to their customers. But some brands like CM who doesn't even listen to their customers anymore unlike 7 years ago they tend to stray away from their true objectives and just get caught into the zone of mistakes. And that is the problem why some PH brand smartphones are dead. Because they don't know how to manufacture a phone nor even keep in touch with their customers. I swear to God if I knew how to make smartphones and also have the knowledge of exchanges I would be creating great smartphones by now.

And also the lack of Software updates really makes the customers move to foreign brands. These PH brands doesn't even know how to update their phones nor even make proper optimizations. *Cough Cough CM.* Myphone on the other hand needs some more guidance. I mean they make really good phones but they lack the STOCK feeling and the QUALITY of the hardware since the moved from being that matte back texture to a really bad LOW QUALITY glossy easy to break back cover which is a very bad mistake. If Myphone just sticked to their PINOY design like the My A33 and A36 and reusing those design and just adjusting the screen size without changing the phone's original dimensions and keeping the stock android feel with the best optimizations and the camera that I So SO SO Love about their A30+ series and giving their phones 2-4 years worth of firmware updates and software updates along side listening to their costumer's wishes. They would have been on top of the PH market by now. Note: *I once used a Myphone A33 and I seriously love the design and the was the phone handles for its price.*
And then cherry is on fire from last year till now i hope they continue to create more variety of phone so the consumer can choose depending on what they needed. And i am also hoping that they will release a flagship phone that can match up against giant phone company but of course they can do it if we support them not drag them.

You could tell there wasn't much research put into this video. As for why they're dead, just look at how Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Redmi and Honor are storming the market with super competitively priced phones. There's no way local players can compete. Cherry Mobile is up next.

And also the lack of Software updates really makes the customers move to foreign brands. These PH brands doesn't even know how to update their phones nor even make proper optimizations. *Cough Cough CM.*
Myphone on the other hand needs some more guidance. I mean they make really good phones but they lack the STOCK feeling and the QUALITY of the hardware since the moved from being that matte back texture to a really bad LOW QUALITY glossy easy to break back cover which is a very bad mistake.
If Myphone just sticked to their PINOY design like the My A33 and A36 and reusing those design and just adjusting the screen size without changing the phone's original dimensions and keeping the stock android feel with the best optimizations and the camera that I So SO SO Love about their A30+ series and giving their phones 2-4 years worth of firmware updates and software updates along side listening to their costumer's wishes. They would have been on top of the PH market by now.
Note: *I once used a Myphone A33 and I seriously love the design and the was the phone handles for its price.*

As for why they're dead, just look at how Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Redmi and Honor are storming the market with super competitively priced phones. There's no way local players can compete. Cherry Mobile is up next.
