They're the absolute pinnacle of everything I love about Rock music, which is a shame because there has never been a band on quite the same level as QOTSA.... YET
@@pamphletthebeanwolf5901 I grew up being a rock fan but fell off to try and fit in with the contemporary fan. Listening to this band has made me fall in love with this genre all over again.
Josh is one of those guys that make me say, "Dammit!". He is smart, cool, talented, laid back, funny, confident, brave, good looking, generous, humble, not hurting for cash, has gone all around the world, has been desired by women for decades, and is ageing very well, if at all. He fucks up the bell curve for almost every person who has ever lived, and yet I can't help but love it. Bastard...DAMMIT!!
it's referencing a 3/7 offset (or whatever) in poker, in the sense that poker's a game of deceit etc. hence the "this is about lying and how much fun it can be".
The QOTSA guys seem so cool and real. Like if you met in a bar and bought 'em drink that they would not only thank you but sit and have it with you. I get that vibe from them. It's even better that are an kickass band! Totally underrated but incredible nonetheless.
To all the geniuses who are like OMG THE DRUMER IS USIGN PERCUSHUN! The drumkit was created in the first place to bring together multiple different types of percussion. It isn't unusual for a drummer to take on additional responsibilities with other pieces of percussion that aren't usually on a drum kit. Take a look once in a while inside of a music shop and you will notice that the drums are nestled next to hat-mounted tambourines, clave blocks, xylophones and chimes.
I hear QOTSA since the beginning and most of my friends, I could not really inspire. "Little Sister" came out and the same friends were suddenly totally flashed. So I got it with many other great bands. I miss Natasha very, very much!. Alan and Natasha were an asset for QOTSA an also Nic Olivieri. With the following members, a little bit of the spirit from the old days, is gone. It`s as it is, we even can`t turn back time.
Josh Homme can be credited with writing some of the most unique and memorable riffs of the 21st century. Burn the witch, 3s and 7s, Sat by the ocean, to name a few.
they're in standard here, they are playing the same chord formations as the album version but 4 frets lower. You will probably notice it if you watch this video then one where they play it on electric
Hell Yeah... This version rocks- i love it. Its quite funny spose cos they usually play it in c standard and now they tuned it to standard tuning... the requests are funny as hell- ' Lets do our heaviest jams now acoustically...' :D QOTSA ROCKS!!!!
And the others debunk that and say that you can smoke much less to develop symptoms. It's also worth noting that marijuana is seldom packaged on its own - it's often mixed with tobacco anyway which increases the risk of COPD through some form of synergism. Also, note that the article you mentioned described an increase in a plethora of other factors, including increased immune activity and a greater propensity to lung infection - both in themselves strong risk factors for COPD.
@iamjordandorian It's so true, technically it's not the BEST voice but there's something very very honest about his singing that I love. Both his an Brody's.
Nah, Micky is using a Gibson Blackbird(I think that's the model), but it's a six string guitar. Feel free to look at 1:02 and you will see the six strings...I think he is playing all of the bass lines an octave higher...cuz acoustic basses aren't that loud unless you have them on an amp.
What makes these guys so great is they sound as good live as they do on their albums
Because they're actually playing it, in oppose to most other bands.
+ArtofDaggering their lives are imo so much better. more raw.
except rock am ring 2001 xD
ArtofDaggering It's called behing a musician not a pop star.
The live performances of 3s and 7s sound 10 times better than the album recording. The album version is kind of a mess honestly.
Josh is the only singer who makes me want to learn singing, never happened with any other band.
Legends and still underrated.
They're the absolute pinnacle of everything I love about Rock music, which is a shame because there has never been a band on quite the same level as QOTSA.... YET
Silverchair's Daniel Johns did that to me. And then it promptly made me give up lmao. Kid had pipes ahead of his age and it's no easy to recreate.

Yeah closer to rock than this is hard to find
Art never dies , Ginger Elvis at his finest.
His voice holy shit
"Here's a song about lying, try it at home kids. No don't try it at home, that's terrible." LOL JOSH, you kill me. XD
"Let's do our heaviest jams now, acoustically" They probably could pull it off, too.
I never pictured this as an acoustic song, but it still rocks. His voice really is identical.
slowly becoming my fav band
"I forgot what key I was on" haha
Such a wicked show.
Fucking rock on QOTSA!
I think he might be in E Standard, but he usually plays this one in C Standard so that’s probably why he didn’t know where to play right away 😂
Saw them live a few years ago and was blown away. Probably the best show Ive ever seen. They're the real deal

man i love his voice
He is an AMAZING vocalist. I love this version!

hence the "this is about lying and how much fun it can be".
"I forgot what key it is."
Lol no shame at all :D
When great rockers goes acoustic its always Awsome :)
Magic numbers, and magic moments. I really enjoy magic moments. Moments like this!!!
They play unplugged perfectly
Man, I wanna see this whole show.
Fantastic! Thank you, Olivier. And rest in peace.
This is one of the best song i've ever heard!!

but it sounds so good
Queens of the Stone Age is an absolute fantastic combination :D love them
This is probably my favorite song of all time

True. Nick had Killer basslines & contributed in other ways. Natasha added something special too.
my favourite queens song
Absolutedly perfect!
nice, really nice performance
Really nice, Queens of the stone age really delivres the stuff!
The best song ever made non acoustic
GENIUS
Great version of this song!
I don't care what anyone says. Josh is the fucking coolest fucker out there.
Clever. Joey's right hand is the bass drum in the electric recording, and the left for the snare.
Josh Homme can be credited with writing some of the most unique and memorable riffs of the 21st century. Burn the witch, 3s and 7s, Sat by the ocean, to name a few.
I Appear Missing
Better Living Through Chemistry
Little sister
frikin awesome acoustic version
"Here's a song about lying - its fun, try it at home kids"
queens ur my favourite band !!!
Perfect Song
I love QOTSA 3
love.you guys
2:00 is a picture of pure awesomeness.
this is awesome
Josh Homme is probably the coolest ginger ever.
they're in standard here, they are playing the same chord formations as the album version but 4 frets lower. You will probably notice it if you watch this video then one where they play it on electric
Yup they are queens! ;)
I was surprised how good that sounds acoustic. The official version relies a lot on a hard and distorted electric guitar sound.
Have you ever been drunk? Trust me, I play guitar and have tried when I was actually drunk. If he was really drunk, he couldn't even strum.
His voice
Hell Yeah... This version rocks- i love it. Its quite funny spose cos they usually play it in c standard and now they tuned it to standard tuning... the requests are funny as hell- ' Lets do our heaviest jams now acoustically...' :D
QOTSA ROCKS!!!!
as others said it was messed in palaces, but I still woulda paid good money to go to that show and see them. It's that good.
You know what the fuck i like about Homme? When he plays mucic..he fucking means it EVERY time.
this video has almost as many views as the official 3's and 7's music vid. its just as good acoustic as it is normally!!
Oh, wow. Thanks. I thought "3's and 7's" was always in standard tuning.
pleeeeeease, come to slovakia!!! i love u guys
btw favourite song and josh is the bestt!!!
ur a genius
i cant believe i never notcied that
@GruntSquad92 Because 4 of the 5 chords of the main riff are the same as in smells like teen spirit but in different order!
I want this set on DVD or something.
QOTSA are such a great acoustic band, would love to see them try some blues songs
hahaha I love when he goes '' swear to God, cross it'' he's such a funny guy :)
that keyboard is sick!! in this
Awesomeness
love it!
"Take, the lie to the grave
Thats what an old friend told me
Look what it did for him"
Josh singin about the Nickgate scandal anyone??
I love the acoustic version but at i think 2:48 they dont go into the other part that the original has. I like that part
theres a video of Hendrix in Stockholm counting the frets to see what key somethings in a getting it wrong and i thought the same then
Great Video!

Considering this is a hard song on guitar, and it mite be hard to do acoustically, this is a really awesome version
That's me in the front row rawkin' out :)
Tis a great song to play
These guys are The Who for the 2000s. Love QOTSA and Kyuss of course.
They are the coolest cats to walk the planet. They are also the best band in the world.
That iss the reason why start with an acoustic :)
thanks bro
i love the guy rockin out in the front row
love love love
love this gig
Josh was reeally drunk :D
@iamjordandorian It's so true, technically it's not the BEST voice but there's something very very honest about his singing that I love. Both his an Brody's.
Mikey Shoes needs to grab an acoustic bass on some of these acoustic tracks, especially this one! Love the acoustic stuff, though!!!

wish they would bring back unplugged on mtv, they were brilliant back in the 1990s, imagine if qotsa were on there, it would be a classic show
amazing
💕 love love Josh
no seriously thank you.
Lovin it
I fucking love this version... almost as much as i love lying
Thanks Josh, I always knew I was.
