Just learned he had passed. At around the same time I got the album from NB. His contributions to Övergivenheten cannot be understated... He is credited for most of the songs, lyrics, and solos. He wrote the songs Death I Hear You Calling and Golgata which talk about the impending End. Sad. This is my favorite album of the year. RIP Andersson
What a legend. I nominate soilwork for best metal category Grammy. Very much respect. I hope Dave's passing is not the end of Soilwork as we know them.
Incredibly after being a fan for over a decade, I think this is my favourite Soilwork album (and The Living Infinite was top 10-20 all-time for me). This is a heartbreaking album to listen to in light of David's passing... And "Dreams of Nowhere" MUST be about him at least to some extent.
Concordo com vc mano, como disse...fico puto por não saber o Pq eles não tem tal notoriedade que merecem. Pela qualidade musical, originalidade e genialidade! A cada faixa deles os cara nos eleva pra um mundo fantasista.
Today 2022-09-14 will change the band forever! „Dreams of nowhere / The everlasting flame“. RIP David Andersson. The passion you gave to music and your fans will burn for eternity 🔥 ♥️
Soilwork and thus David's guitar has accompanied me for more than a decade. Not many bands always catch me, even after that long of a time. So sad to hear about him passing. Thank you for your inspiration David, go back to the soil in peace
Been jamming to soilwork since stabbing the drama i was 15 at the time, now I'm 33 and still can't get enough of them. Devoted my right neck tattoo just to them!
Roughly the same, first heard Distortion Sleep and Nerve... still listening to them at 34 and flying cross country at huge expense for the 4th time to see them in Australia live again in November!
My first contact with Soilwork was in 2002 with Blackstar Deceiver being released on a Sampler CD of Rock Hard Magazine. Coming from Classic Metal Bands like Priest, Metallica or Maiden I was blown away by this magnificent composition of Melody, Heavyness, Aggression and technical quality. Since then they evolved into one of the most versatile and creative Metalbands I know. Constant reinvention while still keeping the roots and influencrs alive. I can't wait to hear the new album as a whole.
So sad to hear of David’s passing. This band was one of my major gateways into metal. I hope you guys can move forward with the same strength and courage that you’ve always shown
When I saw the notification for the song I knew what I was supposed to do. Grab my headphones, blast the volume, close my eyes and just listen. And I must say that this is love from the first time I heard it.
This band has been such a huge part of my life for the last 20 plus years. And I can’t believe I got to do a song with Bjorn. I met my hero and he’s the kindest person I could have hoped for.
Love the views for this one are growing at a great rate for only being released this past Friday. These guys deserve far more exposure and appreciation by many. Can't wait to listen to the album in it's entirety.
Makes no sense how these guys keep evolving their sound. What a quality and variety of unique melodies they can still create. I thought Verkligheten was their pinnacle, but the 3 songs they already released for the next album are even beyond. Björn voice is amazing. Regards from Spain!
Absolute mastery of technical skill, visceral rage and passion, complex and deeply moving melody - classic soilwork. Im always impressed by how their sound continually changes but is consistently great music. Im definitely buying a ticket for their tour!
One of my most fave bands since 2003. Watched them evolve. Musical and lyrical growth is amazing. Though I sometimes listen to their 20 years old releases to have some nostalgia and wipe a lonesome tear from my eye
"Dreams of Nowhere" lyrics: It reaps your soul It won't leave you alone It runs through everything It ravages hope Believe these words Can't escape your curse You keep on treading water Taking a turn for the worst Bleeding through the blanching skin you're Offering the Gods your name Bound to see the sunrise fading The everlasting flame No, it ain't your time To waste another miracle Can you read the signs? Your burden isn't biblical All that fire inside Transcending from the physical You are damned but alive Already reached the pinnacle It's a relentless chase For the apocalyptic sake It's paved the road For your ancient pain To serve and protect Your own neglect You're falling free And in his heaven he wept Bleeding through the blanching skin you're Offering the Gods your name Bound to see the sunrise fading The everlasting flame No, it ain't your time To waste another miracle Can you read the signs? Your burden isn't biblical All that fire inside Transcending from the physical You are damned but alive Already reached the pinnacle A never dying stigma It shuts you down and let you sleep It reaps your soul It won't leave you alone It runs through everything It ravages hope Believe these words Can't escape your curse You keep on treading water Taking a turn for the worst Illuminating dreams of nowhere The darkest way to conquer your regime No, it ain't your time To waste another miracle Can you read the signs? Your burden isn't biblical Your burden isn't biblical
There's always this same ritual since decades now. Wearing Soilwork's and In Flames' favorite merch in the waiting for their upcoming albums. Yesterday I saw a fellow WoW streamer (Venruki) wearing it too. You, in particular, litterally raised a whole generation through music along with In Flames. Stay strong lads, as we shall wait for this upcoming masterpiece !
Dude I feel this comment so much. I’ve been doing the same with those same 2 bands for about 25 years now, it’s incredible. So much amazing music from them both in those years, I’m so grateful to have been along for the ride 🤘🤘🔥🔥 and now, they’re touring together in the fall of this year. Fucking wonderful 🤌🥹🤘💚
как вам удается на протяжении десятков лет делать песни всё лучше и лучше??!!! невероятно!! how do you manage to make songs better and better for decades??!!! incredible!!
We are a generalist rock radio but SOILWORK is a group that has a place in our playlist and moreover that should be the case on all radios that call themselves rock.
There really is no band like Soilwork. Ever since I heard Speed, in an interview say his favorite rock band is Fleetwood Mac, I do see how that is influencing the music they have been crafting as of recent. I love it. It is a unique sound that is still metal.
This late career resurgence has been fantastic. Speed, you keep getting better and the riffing continues to go to new dimensions. The visuals are amazing. Very well done, salud 🍺
The outro is so the wholesome - dammit, since the outro part of A Whisp Of The Atlantic (the song) I`m waiting for an instrumental / acoustic album. Now I`m dreaming even more. :D
That part isn't in the single version of "Dreams of Nowhere," which ends at 4:30. The "outro" is almost certainly the next track on the album Övergivenheten, called "The Everlasting Flame." It's 1:07, which lines up perfectly with the extra time on this music video after "Dreams of Nowhere" ends.
It's amazing, I'm really excited for the new album, the previous one for me was amazing, and now they interested me so much again, good photography in the video, they innovated in a big way and still sound like the old days with a great and amazing performance. ty
Even though they're on top, thery're still climibing. This is an absolute delight and I look forward to purchasing the new record. Thanks for digging deep fellas!
David Andersson, RIP, thank you for all the beautiful lyrics, riffs and melodies.....
Best riffs ever. Rip my brother

David Andersson was absolutely incredible and I will truly miss his perfect contributions to this awesome band.
The chorus is amazing.
Bjorn is an absolute phenom!
Soilwork is the perfect mix of melody and heaviness. One of my favorite bands for sure !
Yes exactly! I first heard them when I was 13 and fell in love with their sound!
Concordo com vc mano, como disse...fico puto por não saber o Pq eles não tem tal notoriedade que merecem. Pela qualidade musical, originalidade e genialidade! A cada faixa deles os cara nos eleva pra um mundo fantasista.
chorus is absolute beauty
Hope you’ll like the new video! Thanks again Soilwork for trusting us to create a world for your epic music! 🔥🔥🤘🏽❤️
Congrats for the amazing work ! Cheers from Brazil !
Great work! Beautiful video
very enthusiastic approach... thank you for your great work
It’s a pretty perfect match up. Works so so well 👏👏👏👏
@@Goldie1977 Thanks Adam!! ❤️🔥

My fav band since 2005 and they just keep going and making unreal music. Long live the mighty soilwork.

Same here man! I was 15 when I discovered Stabbing the Drama and am now 33 as well! 👍
Awesome man. I discovered them in 2007 when I was 14 years. Now I'm 29 and still digging them as much as ever.
I really love it when these guys go full melodic.
So sad to hear of David’s passing. This band was one of my major gateways into metal. I hope you guys can move forward with the same strength and courage that you’ve always shown
Rest in Power David Andersson
Soilwork for life. Never disappoints. Definitely one of my favorite things in life is getting a new Soilwork album. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Glorious

I hear that too that is a really good buddy 👍
If there was any doubt left after Verkligheten - Bastian is such a badass drummer.
Love the views for this one are growing at a great rate for only being released this past Friday. These guys deserve far more exposure and appreciation by many. Can't wait to listen to the album in it's entirety.

Great album, I think this is way better than Verkligheten - so far Golgata is the best track (for me obviously)
Soilwork has been my most listened to band in Spotify for the past 5 years in a raw for a reason... never fail to deliver a great kick ass song
Raw for a reason should be the name of a band
That chorus
Absolute mastery of technical skill, visceral rage and passion, complex and deeply moving melody - classic soilwork. Im always impressed by how their sound continually changes but is consistently great music. Im definitely buying a ticket for their tour!

this song is one of those classic Soilworks songs that I'll never tire of until I die.
Their best song in a while. Nice!
"Dreams of Nowhere" lyrics:
It reaps your soul
It won't leave you alone
It runs through everything
It ravages hope
Believe these words
Can't escape your curse
You keep on treading water
Taking a turn for the worst
Bleeding through the blanching skin you're
Offering the Gods your name
Bound to see the sunrise fading
The everlasting flame
No, it ain't your time
To waste another miracle
Can you read the signs?
Your burden isn't biblical
All that fire inside
Transcending from the physical
You are damned but alive
Already reached the pinnacle
It's a relentless chase
For the apocalyptic sake
It's paved the road
For your ancient pain
To serve and protect
Your own neglect
You're falling free
And in his heaven he wept
Bleeding through the blanching skin you're
Offering the Gods your name
Bound to see the sunrise fading
The everlasting flame
No, it ain't your time
To waste another miracle
Can you read the signs?
Your burden isn't biblical
All that fire inside
Transcending from the physical
You are damned but alive
Already reached the pinnacle
A never dying stigma
It shuts you down
and let you sleep
It reaps your soul
It won't leave you alone
It runs through everything
It ravages hope
Believe these words
Can't escape your curse
You keep on treading water
Taking a turn for the worst
Illuminating dreams of nowhere
The darkest way to conquer your regime
No, it ain't your time
To waste another miracle
Can you read the signs?
Your burden isn't biblical
Your burden isn't biblical
Obrigado amigão
It's Aegean pain, not ancient

Definitely the best of the 3 songs released so far
I mean the bar wasn't really set that high, still a good song
@@TheNubaHS I kinda agree, but this one is really really good
@@TheNubaHS Övergivenheten was pretty damn good.
Soilwork astound me with how consistent and good they are.
This is A+++. Need to see Bastian in studio rocking this out! I want to see the double bass work.
This album was spectacular.

Ты серьезно? Пока что то, что они выкатывают в рамках нового альбома в подметки не годится ни одному из предыдущих
Magnificent vocal work by Bjorn ¨Speed¨ Strid as always and the band great. Long live SOILWORK!
My favorite of the new songs. This was excellent
Пацаны ваще ребята! Умеете, могёте!

Just as interesting with its out-of-the-box songwriting as the last single, this album shaping up to be a great one.
Wow, one of my ALL time favorite bands, still making amazing music! Been listening to them since day one!🖤🤘🏾
I was just browsing for Soilwork to show their music to a friend and I got this new song!!
