- Well... its happened. After two years, my personal phone has broken TWICE. It does not work anymore. My curved screen Note 10 Plus has kicked the bucket. But can we fix it? Today we are going to try and repair my personal phone with a delicately tuned medial procedure perfected by Dr. Frankenstein. Taking two broken phones... and merging them into one working device. How long have you had your current phone? let me know down in the comments.

More apple than Samsung
Samsung doesn't give a hoot if you fix it yourself. Some models are likely to not have a functional optical fingerprint reader after a screen replacement, but it's more of a technical limitation rather than Samsung locking the replacement parts out. Everything else works just fine.
Based on a true story
Apple DOESN'T allow you to swap parts from 2 identical iphone 12's. Samsung does...
I recently upgraded to s22 after having s7 for 6 or so years(both front and back glass is shuttered, but it still works) so I hope I earned environmental approval from Jerry
i also like to use my phones until they are physically falling apart lol
Same I went from a s7 to s22 plus. I could buy a phone every year but that's just money wasted 😕
@@narwhal9852 Same! In fact, I used my V40 for about 3 or 4 years until I decided that it had way too many issues for me to deal with. I'm currently using the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G until I can order the OnePlus 6T refurbished off Amazon. The reason I'm getting the OnePlus 6T is because it still has quite a few up to date ROMs available and I do not like buying brand new if I can help it. I just don't like buying what's essentially really fancy manufactured ewaste (Looking at you, Apple and Samsung)
Im still using my S8 ive had for around 5 and half years no cracks anywhere, very visible scratches at bottom of the phone and some tiny ones on screen that are impossible to see when using it normally. Im amazed by how its worked all this time perfectly with very rare lag/app crashes. Battery is also good, i dont have to worry about my phone dying. Im most likely not going to switch phones until i cant rely on this one anymore, which seems like can live just fine for a couple more years.
@@yo_utub-e oh nice! I'm currently using a Pixel 4 XL and saving up for a OnePlus 8 or 9 Pro. Preferably the 9 since that one will last longer I think but I could get the 8 if all else fails. The reason I wanna upgrade is cuz my phone has a bad flashlight and rear mic (the stupid ribbon cable broke), volume buttons don't work, and the rear camera is quite iffy as to whether or not it decides to work. I sometimes have to take the back glass off and reseat the connector and I'm just sick of it

Been using my Note 8 ever since it came out ! I absolutely love it and wasn't planning to switch it anytime soon until it died. Unfortunately just like Jerry, I broke my first screen last week in 12 years of owning smartphones! The screen replacement was $300 so I ended up buying a new Note 9 in a sealed box for $500. I'm going to replace the screen eventually and keep using my Note 8 as secondary device.

I've been using my phone for more than 3 years now, still good btw, its a Pocophone F1 and it works well with no damage to its external(having a plastic back helps) as well as no scratches of any sort in the screen(screen protector does the job, had to replace it twice)
The only damages I can think of is the battery reaching it lifespan's end and maybe the slight yellow in the top left of the screen. Both are minor problems.
It's just goes to show that you don't need to change phones every year or two, most phones are meant to last longer than people use them for.

I was using my LG G4 for 4 + years. It got really slow, and (original) battery died pretty quickly so in 2019 I switched to OnePlus 7 Pro, which I still use to this day. Actually I still use G4 too, but only to listen music
It seems that the Note 10 Plus kinda hits that threshold in notable phone improvements. I haven't seen enough of a difference to switch from my Note 10 plus, so I'll be hanging onto mine for the foreseeable future. I do phone repair professionally and i feel like me using a phone that's a few generations behind will encourage my customers to do the same.
Also while its understandable that incremental improvements will be made, much of it is a marketing jargon. Like for example, the physically bigger camera on the Note 20. Looks cool so you will buy it, but not a big improvement over the last gen Note 10.
