Typically under 4 hours. They had half the episode preshot in one case so we were out by 2.5 hours. Still, we were there for some amazing moments. The famous paper flip that landed on Parson's face. The Blue jay episode. And my fave, the boys dressed as female superheroes. Great nights all.
I went to 6 TBBT episodes and about a dozen other tapings in my life. Loads of fun overall which loosens up the audience and makes them more laughter pliable. No alcohol involved. Also Audiences Unlimited is no longer in business thanks to COVID. They ran a really good tight ship and got took over by 1ota and OSA.
@techyougo good question. No. Instead they create an atmosphere and desire in the audience to laugh. That's Mr. Sweet in the video. He encourages you through keeping you happy. Why? If they told you when to laugh, then it would be truly fake and the home audience would think they/we were crazy. So there is very little value in canned or fake laughter. Is there a LAFF track? Yes. It is the recording of the audience during the show. Was there ever fake laughter? Yes, how do you shoot the Flintsones and MASH in front of a live audience?
@techyougo one more. Why put that laughter in the show at all? Movies don't have it. Single-cam sitcoms don't have it. Very true. It is an aid to the suspension of disbelief. Many people need encouragement to feel joy. Crazy but true. Granted maybe half of it is not funny in the real world, but all content is either escapism or informational. The escapism occasionally needs help.
Those people had a moment of their lives. But ruined it for some of us with their unnecessary laughter. I love Young Sheldon better because I laugh when I feel it's necessary for me to laugh.
Pretty selfish of that woman who says she went every week, when there are so many people who want to see it. She could make way for others sometimes, especially as many visitors are probably tourists who wouldn’t be in the area again.
We went to Live with Kelly and Michael about 10-12 years ago. Very common for locals to go to lots of tapings for shows. We met a woman who goes to a lot of shows in NYC while in line for the show. She lives in Brooklyn and regularly goes, especially in weather that impacts others attending such as snowstorms. She had to go online and request tickets just like everyone does. Some shows she just shows up as there are standby lines.
The audience is kept engaged, so the laughs are real. That said, they do "sweeten" the laughs. At the end of the day, the laugh track isn't so much for us as it is for the actors.
It amazes me how WE all laugh at the show and its covert racism. Yes, as a black person I am ashamed that I did not recognise the blatant racism that Raj had to endure for laughs. It is only whilst watching re-runs that I realised how badly Raj was written. Every other character, including Stuart, had a happy ending, I believed that the reason was that the writers would give Raj his own show. That was not the case. It just shows how Hollywood can still get away with blatant racism.
This show is incredibly lame. I prefer other sitcoms that aren’t as annoying. When I say annoying, I’m specifically referring to the most obnoxious character on television-Sheldon Cooper (played by Jim Parsons). However, I actually love ‘Young Sheldon.’
@@rigpa10 Actually, Young Sheldon is not as vexatious as TBBT especially given the lack of a laugh track. Furthermore, Sheldon’s intelligence in this show surpasses that of his character in TBBT. His action of inserting his head into a wall cavity can hardly be classified as ‘smart’; it’s simply foolish. The character’s overall demeanor is both grating and unrealistic, as in reality, his off-putting attitude would likely result in him being isolated.

You have to admit even if you find Laugh tracks annoying it’s cool watching a sitcom live before many other people get to see it in their own homes.
Yeah specially the cliffhangers and season finales
That show is so well written and so well outcast. I could be there all day.
I want to see the live taping of Howard attempting to break down the bathroom door.
Would they have had a team of paramedics standing by in case he dislocated his shoulder?
When its a laughing competition and my opponent is tbbt live cast audiences:
Unbeatable. They would even laugh about dy**g children
.*Character breaths*. HAHAHAHA OMG FUNNIEST SHIT EVER
The inherent issue with Live Studio audiences... they laugh too often and too hard.
Actually sounds more fake than canned laughter tracks.
Love The Big Bang Theory! Greetings from Sweden.
The same 😍 from Jokkmokk.

You can see they are all having a good time. Some laughs just comes out real.
Thank you for this video, next best thing to actually being there.
So that’s where the laughing in each episode comes from
These are just a fine group of incredible talented actors. It's almost like watching a fine tuned sports team if I can compare the metaphor.
i will rewatch it if there is option to remove laughing noise
I've seen like more then 10 times from start to end all seasons 1-12 again and again
When you think about it, it’s kinda weird we still have shows with people laughing in the background
Would ve have been kewl if they all took the broken lift on their last ever episode...

Bro most of that audience won't come back to watch every single episode. It's one seat, relax. The audience rotates new people like every episode.

Good for her, one seat dont make a difference.
That laugh in the finished episode sounds fake
they mixed live audience laugh and laugh track (fake laugh) during editing, it's a necessary evil to achieve a consistent result
So they do multiple takes meaning that the laughs are not genuine 😂😂😂😂 this really not funny
