I adore Darren Hanlon. This song is a beautiful symbiosis between John William'esque Aussie Country music and an honest, manly, awkward and amusing love poem of unrequited love :)
I went to a Darren Hanlon gig where he said that if you listened to the lyrics enough you'd know who this song was about ... I've listened and I have NO IDEA! But I'll look up Radha Mitchell.
on the 29th of June i heard this song on triple j around 10pm and i forget how it went, accept one lyric said 'don't drink milk from flying saucers. i think. it had a lot of random lyrics and it was pretty up beat and im pretty sure they said it was by darren hanlon so ive beene looking about the interwebs for it ever since but i havent been able to find it, so if anyone knows what song im talking about and would like to help me out that would be verry much appreciated :) please

Watching this again, it's sad to realise how much the pandemic has ruined this song, it's not about filling the gaps but leaving spaces :(
@sectumsempralumos Folk Insominia. Definitely my favorite song by him, the lyrics right after that line are amazing.
what a good-looking fellow!
Yeah very good. I hear Dylon 'The Times They Are A-Changin' a bit. But it could be just me!

"Folk Insomnia"
@lukekevindocherty They should make a musical about the life of Russell Crowe...written by and starring Darren Hanlon.
Lord I hope The Majestic usually has more patrons, hehe.
