I love the addition of the bucket cause It literally added a year into the development of the game when it was originally a one off joke where they just added Stanley and the bucket to all of the dialog
Plus doing a different bit that includes the bucket.
You know that really makes me appreciate the Companion Cube from Portal even more.
Its crazy how only a single feature could change an entire game. Basically doubling the game and then some.

8:07 This is genuinely one of my favourite jokes from Ultra Deluxe. Davey knew that players familiar with the original Stanley Parable would be searching through the different paths, looking for the "new content", so after a few runs of checking every nook and cranny, they just plop it down directly in your path where it's impossible to miss, zero subtlety. "You're looking for the new content? Well, here you go". When I was playing and first saw this, it felt like the game had read my mind.
Joke's on them, I found new content before the new content door showed up by trying to speedrun the mind control facility and falling off
@misirtere9836 Me too, actually. I noticed that the mind-control facility elevator button still worked, so I got the press-conference ending. I still kept looking, though, assuming there was more content hidden somewhere (which there was, but I didn't end up finding the "bottom of the mind-control facility" ending).
i wonder specifically what/how many runs or whatever you need to do to unlock the New Content
@thatoneguy9582 It changes based on whether or not you say you've played the original game before.
@misirtere9836 If you've chosen the "yes" option, it takes 4 runs for the door to appear, otherwise, it will take 8 runs for the door to appear

I find it weird they added the warning in the bucket version when the normal version is more traumatic

There probably IS a content warning for the normal version now.
The skip button has some of the best dialogue in the game, but honestly this video made me realize the most important part of what its meant to do is portrayed by also not listening to a fucking second of it.

The narrator’s final rant is honestly so damn real but also so deranged and I love it.
Playing the piano is super important to video game immersion. On par with being able to pet the dog.
Biggest oversight in The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe for the Nintendo Personal Computer.

yeah it was how i ended up getting with deltarune. super big fan of undertale when i was a kid, fell out of it and didn't play or engage with the media very much for a super long time, played deltarune chapter 1 but i didn't think much of it... and then deltarune chapter 2 came out and the game killed me with laughter every 5 minutes.
i suspect that i was just really adjusted to and endeared by undertale's sense of humor after all the time i spent being a fan of the game, even after the original jokes got old... i wonder if the same thing might have happened with penny?

I doubt that, since when the narrator deleted all buckets from the game, the Bucket Destroyer was not there either. This must mean that the Bucket Destroyer is itself a bucket too.
Truly one of the most nuanced and interesting characters in the stanley parable, wish we could have seen more of him though :'(

not even halfway, it was like and hour and 58 minutes into a 2 hour and 14 minute stream, she was almost DONE
okay, upon rewatching does anyone get a little emotional seeing the "thank you for enjoying the new content" still? I did because it feels like such a genuine and heartfelt thank you by the end of the game
The epilogue uses it to great effect by sticking it in the room with the computer that lets you make sequels.
@E3kHatena it also only appears after you've seen all the genuinly new stuff, as opposed to just variations on the old stuff. Its letting the audience know there's nothing really left in the game they haven't seen
honestly the whole epilogue is strangely emotionally effective given the bits it's made of. From that, to the bucket appearing, to the one button that says 'Stanley' and the strangely genuine tone of the settings voice
The "Penny laughs at X" running joke in the subtitles just kept making me laugh every time.

Stephanie actually revealed on twitter on the games launch day that the devs reached out to them personally a while ago and asked if it would be alright to use their review and if they should update the byline to reflect their current name and pronouns. Ngl, learning that made me tear up 😭

I think its also made a *bit* funny by the fact that their attention to detail goes so far that the narrator actually mimics Sterling's cadence/voice PERFECTLY when he reads their review.

3) explore. You now have the ability to jump, and if you aren't in the same room as the jump circle, you will never run out
1:01:14 is a great comedic moment. I've come back to this video a few times just to rewatch that part when I need a laugh. It is also not too far off from how I reacted to the disappearance of the bucket in my initial run. Very cruel of the developers to make us think our actions have consequences!

I love the map designers for this game because they know how to make every individual movement of the camera in a new space a separate punch in the face when it comes to visual comedy.
