Please continue showing Ryobi updates. I'm currently on their platform and have thought about switching out, but as they come out with newer, better tools it would save me a ton to stick with what I have.
So glad I got into the Ryobi line a year ago super impressed with them and glad to see they stepping it up and love that they keep there word on the battery fitting all tools and haven't changed and don't plan on it
5:45 YES! why do so few companies think of this!? Smart move having the light STAY ON when the trigger is not being pulled anymore so that you can see where you're lining up next or whatever. I hate when lights only work while triggers are pulled
Ryobi has a lot of fans, including me. I appreciate you taking the time to comment on their line, and look forward to more. Im an advanced DIYer, and a Sculptor of Large bronzes and other foundry work. I put my Ryobi tools in heavy duty situations, and Im pretty pleased. At this point Im so invested in their line, that I cant see me switching to one of the better brands.
This right angle drill is a masterpiece. Light, smooth, quiet and powerful. Great shop tool. Battery footprint will never change yet they are constantly improving the battery chemistries and technologies. Perfect tool line. Great video!
All the Milwaukee fans out there, I love it. Can't beat the big red. Just my personal opinion. Hopefully everyone is taking extra care in these crazy days. These videos make it go by so much smoother.
Ryobi has come a long way and I find more and more of their products being used by the trades on job sites. I'm praying for a quality track saw from them soon.
Nice new line of tools! I wanna to buy them but all my ryobi tools I have since 2007 just wont die on me! Been a heavy use on it to remodel three house and multiple projects. Once it die, definitely buy ryobi combo tools package again!
I might be interested in owning their products but Home Depot is over 1 hour away in any direction. I can go buy Milwaukee at 4 different places with in 30 minutes from home and less from work
Matt Nelson I would assume they are doing like Milwaukee did with their chainsaw when released and used a dull chain and badly tuned saw to showcase “how good” their 18v saw was. I will almost guarantee they used a cheap tool to do comparisons with. Otherwise show the “competitors” brands if they really want some street cred.
People that do these comparisons to market for a given brand always pull shenanigans. It's their job to make their brand look good. If it won't make their brand look good, they won't risk doing it. You literally can't take their word, or demonstrations/comparisons, for anything. Unbiased shootouts always play out differently than marketing shootouts.
Glad I saw this. Changing careers and going into the trades. Already had the base diy/home repair green kit. Recently got the brushless 7.25 circular and so far it does the job. Nothing is perfect but had been using my boss's orange 6.5 and it stands up but it doesn't feel quite as "solid" as the orange. Overall my green tools have been up to any job I've put em to. The batteries have a good life and the other companies have a hard time beating that price point. I am keeping my eye on yellow though as they are starting to manufacture some of their line in America again. If green started manufacturing in the states I would be a die-hard, I'd be willing to pay 2x if it were made here.
I have had my Ryobi tools for 10 years, 2 original batteries. They are not the best, but for someone right out of college, they got a lot of projects done.
Vince!! There’s a tool store across the street from my work, I had no idea about it. It’s all Milwaukee, I went into the shop talking about how the tool truck is my second choice now.
Wow, wow and wow. I was waiting for such news. The basic question is when will they be available in Europe, more precisely in Poland? Best regards and waiting for more news on the channel.
I follow the #vcgconstruction because I got frustrated with all the burned out Ryobi tools in my toolbox. Seems Ryobi markets very effectively to women. But Vince’s real world tests has helped me get the best tools for the job and see how the pros use them too! I’m converted to Dewalt - doubt I’ll ever buy another Ryobi 😝 Love my Dewalt brushless driver, and power drill kit and it came with two batteries too!
These aren't contractor grade tools but I could see these having great value for homeowners and DIYers. They could also be a great back up incase you need an extra set of tools every once in a while for something around the shop.
Indeed. And anyone can quite easily put his or her tools into two categories: tools used all the time, and tools used occasionally. There is no shame in going budget on the latter.
@@kundetjenesten i am on the Ridgid platform but saw Direct Tools had the 200cfm Ryobi leaf blower with 2ah battery and charger for $40 so I grabbed it. It's light duty which is fine for me blowing the driveway and sidewalk after cuttin the grass. I can make room for my Ryobi charger next to my Ridgid chargers 👍
Careful. I use my Ryobi 4 1/2" grinder for more than 5 years in contractor's jobs and is still performing well as the first day. I am impressed because I never expected that it will last that long. I see many contractors working with Ryobi tools and they say that they like how well they perform when the task is not too heavy.
@@edriv3722 I'm happy for you! My 5" Ryobi grinder was a huge disappointment, it overheated even on small jobs, and was actually the tool that made me get into another brand instead (angle grinders are my #1 tool, besides the welding machine). Besides that, I never had an issue with any Ryobi tools, most were given away to my mom where they still work just fine. @mixwell1983 That battery sounds way too small for a leaf blower, even a small one! Blowers and chainsaws are notorious for eating batteries for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as snacks in between... Though I have no doubt the blower will work just fine!
@@kundetjenesten it looks like 5" size is a bad vibe for grinders. I got the 5" 20V Dewalt and I feel is not powerful enough. It does the job but the old corded Ryobi do it faster. Maybe 110v against 20v? I do the ilogical comparison because the 20v Dewalt 6.5" circular saw cuts wood faster than the Ridgid 10" Tablesaw...... So I expected the same performance on the grinder.
Ryobi might not be as good as milwaukee, but they're almost getting to the point in quality and the number of tools to where it almost doesn't make sense to even buy rigid anymore (and yes I'm aware they're all made by the same company.)
I'm interested to see if Vince and crew also end up with the same result as workshop addicts most recent video where the Ryobi One+ HP impact driver overheated and started melting the plastic overmold!

I use Ryobi's AirStrike Line and its been a game changer for me (brad nailer, crown stapler, pin nailer). Although, I bought into Harbor Freight and mostly use Hercules, Bauer & old NiCAD Chicago Electric. AND my SNAP-ON Daytona jack ;0)
The only professionals I've personally seen use Ryobi consistently are Moog and Marty on Might Car Mods Channel, they've tempted me with the LED worklight for one, but I've invested pretty heavily in my tools like many others. I'm always happy to recommend other brands if it hits a good price point and does its job well of course. Seriously though, keep on increasing your game. Ryobi is mostly seen mostly as a DIY brand still, and competition drives technology plus is good for the consumer.
I wanna see you guy's really put these tools threw there paces ! Not impressed with other reviews I've seen ! But want a trusted opinion from you guys at VCG !
I'm looking forward to Milwaukee's release of there M18 framing nailer! suppose to happen this fall? As an electrician when I do a rough in in any wood framed structure, I always need to install scab 2 x 4's and this tool will make the task so much faster as well as easier on and plod man like me verse trying to swing my hammer in tight cavities. Thanks for the videos keep it up😆
I like Milwaukee for power tools and Ryobi for my lawn tools. I'd be interested to see if they've made or are making any changes for those. Video wise, i liked the demos and the camera shots were fine. Some reactions or input from you guys along the way would be good.
Ryobi looks really interesting, but i use Ozito power x change instead -little cheaper i think but with 5 years replacement warranty. Greetings from UK.
Have used every brand made in the last 20 years and have settled on ryobi,...why..... Cause all the Ryobi tools I have acquired over the past 20 years still work and still work with batteries I bought 2 month ago. I have a grave yard of Milwaukee, dewalt, craftsman, and Makita battery combo packs in a storage tub in my garage all unusable. My 20 year old dust buster vacuum that came with the first royal blue combo kit got used yesterday and the sawzall the day before. My power caulking gun was priceless when it first came out. Upgraded to the 1/2" impact 2 months ago and loving it. My biggest complaint? Batteries are so dang expensive... Come on on ryobi throw me a coupon or something, I need a 6amp battery!!!
Sorry Guys. I am sticking with Chaka on this one. Too many nope's for me. They are never going to change their batteries. I guess Craftsman is their closest competition.
I don't own a single Ryobi. But I give it to Ryobi that they've been keeping their promise for keeping that pod style battery so anyone who bought their cordless tools, even when they are NiCad powered can keep using their Ryobi tools. Don't know how many customers Ryobi would lose if they changed the pod style battery platform. I've moved on from Dewalt after their 12V, 14.4, and 18V NiCad tools. Everything of mine doesn't have to be black and yellow. It took me a few years to have a rainbow. While teal is my primary, I've also got black and yellow, grey, orange, and red (M12 and M18). I buy whatever tool does the job and can get on a good sale with the help of @VCG Construction and the gang. Stay safe and well everyone.
I prefer the Kobalt XTR line but Ryobi is doing a great job. I have their 18 plus 1 drill from the past and like it but it is on the shelf for the XTR.
When are you guys going to get your hands on these to test them out? WorkshopAddict has a video series on these and they didn’t look very impressive. They were basically melting when pushed too hard. I use Ryobi because I only handle minor DIY projects at home. They work for the tasks I have. But I cannot see these actually holding up to heavy commercial use.
drj Westfield Wisconsin on your drills why can't the bottom of the handle swivel the battery just one quarter of its diameter so the front of the drill would be ahead of the battery?
Hope they come out a right angle impact driver I like the skil version but a lot of skil products does not have tool only they are very low price with the battery and charger which is cool but if I want one and all ready have the battery and charger with a drill there is no tool only for a few tools but not for certain tools it’s good ryobi is starting to get there and able to get a tool that is bare tool only which helps me to get one.
I like Ryobi cordials tools I have a couple of them the only down fall about them is how big and bulky the barty is it doesn't allow you to get in tight spaces but all in all not bad tools
I swore off Ryobi stuff years ago when some of their lawn tools wore out prematurely and was told it would be cheaper to buy a replacement instead of having the old one fixed. These have piqued my interest again.
I was on the fence, initially I was starting out with dewalt, but the tool costs had me timid to purchase more. Batteries are here to stay. I looked at red, and they are a bit less, but some of there tools come up short against yellow. I think green seems to be the new push by their corporate owner. I am still unsure. I think it is like a reputation of cheap, in the past this was ryobi's reputation. But is like I said ,an example is he use to beat his wife , but he doesn't beat his wife anymore. But people still thinks he beats his wife reputation.. I will buy and try the green, if it can compete ,I am sold.

Thanks for the honest review, remember Milwaukee we're slaves to the same master.
160 fpt my 2-3 year old 12v milwaukee has that much, so wow that's powerful.
On side note I do have a few of there tools
Got the 4 amp 4 battery awhile ago guess I’ll get the new brushless kit hard to beat 65 bucket per tool
