This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talents and expertise.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Thank you for sharing your beautiful painting process with us. I hope you have managed to avoid the cyclone/flooding happening across parts of Aotearoa.
Thank you. Unfortunately we didn't avoid the cyclone, it hit us quite hard. We had no power for two days!
Very beautiful my dear friend and artist
Thank you so much 😀
this is beautiful ! thank you for sharing ,hope u have a good day
Thank you! You too 😊
hey its been a while since i last tuned in. as usual Sam I am impressed. i love the episode.
Thank you so much 😊
Interesting that you do your darks first in gouache. I do my darks first in oils but last in gouache as I can always make gouache darker but I can't always make an undercoat lighter. I do tend to use a coloured board with gouache though, I will try your way on white board as it clearly works very well!
Yeah, when I started painting with gouache I wasn’t sure of the best way to work with it so used a similar approach as I do with oils in that I would paint the darks first. It seems to work for me 😊
Cool beans
I really love that one! Nice!
Thank you so much 😊
❤❤❤
Thanks 😊
Question I see on some of your tutorials you a color background vs. some paintings on white. Does it affect the color of the paint you put down?
Hey Alett, yes I believe it does. When you tone a canvas with burnt sienna for example it warms up the painting but I found I often ran into difficulties with values and my darks were often coming out too dark. I have found that by painting on a white canvas my colours are cleaner and my values are better. It is a matter of preference, try both and see which method you prefer 😊
Which rosemary and co brushes do you use?
