I was introduced to her through Morrissey I believe. After he spoke about the song 'All over the world' I gave it a listen and I really liked it. From there I went on and bought 'The Vogue Years' which is great. > I will check out the 'Alone' album. What a fine collection and the details are just incredible. Man, no hiding how much you love her and her music.

I'm a big fan of Morrissey and the Smiths, and there is definitely a strong sympathy between their music. Wow, I could imagine her doing a Smiths song! How cool would that be? The Vogue Years comp is totally solid, really can't miss with that. "Alone" is a pleaser, man, and I could have gone on more about that record but brevity is the soul of wit or some such shit! If I could pair any album with "Alone" it would e Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush", for how short the songs are, how different the songs are, and how they have a beautiful production quality that is so from the era it's warmth was just once in a lifetime.
