One of my patients. Took care of many “celebrities” but, I have to say, she was one of the most humble, engaging and kindest people that I can remember over a 35 year career.
I had a 60 year career as a studio singer. One time I was singing on a Mel Brooks film and Ann Bancroft as in the booth. We met and she was so gracious.
Happy 90th Birthday! She was a wonderful actress. She never gave a bad performance and was a joy to watch. She still is. I love all her films. 84 Charring Cross Road is my favorite. I thought she was perfect to play Helene Hanff. I had read her book, all of them in fact, and thought only Anne Bancroft, a great actress could play her. I also love her and Mel in To Be Or Not To Be and a little film she did in 1965, The Slender Thread. I would also add John Ford's 7 Women, the last film he directed and Garbo Talks. She was terrific in all of them and in all the other films she did. Thank you Annie for the pleasure of your company.
I found her so beautiful and such a lady, God bless her so and will experience the glory of God because she has just made heaven a more beautiful place!!! XXX
I'm just curious...You start out talking about how she wished folks wouldn't focus so on The Graduate (Mrs. Robinson) and remember all of her other work...then in a "Memorium" you do exactly as she would have hated and focus, mostly, on The Graduate. If you were trying to honor and respect her as an artist; you fell short. Ms. Bancroft, may you continue to Rest In Peace. I loved Sweet Georgie Brown, and I adored you in The Turning Point. I paid to see it almost a dozen times. We miss you.
I wonder, Dustin is a pretty funny fellow and Mel......well he is an ubercomedian, there has to be a joke, a sketch........something about miss Robinson.........unless .....it wasn't all funny between them three.

“The party begins when Mel Brooke’s enters the room. That’s why I married him. “ Anne Bancroft. When she died the party was over for him. Tragic.
I truly do not know how Mel carried on.
Most people think they know love but they don’t. This couple had the real thing. So lucky.
She is A Beauty.
she was born on September 17th and i was born on the 18th it's we'll never ever see her kind again . Annie from the Bronx . love you tony.
Liked her as Arnold mom in Torch Song Trilogy
TALENTED, BEAUTIFUL REFINED. SHE BELONGS TO THE CATEGORY OF THE GREAT ACTRESSES LIKE BETTE, JOAN CRAWFORD, KATHARINE HEPBURN, STANWICK, OLIVIA....
What happened to the sound at 3:55?
How many of the "bedroom" scenes in The Graduate were actually Anne Bancroft? I'm guessing not too many.
I miss you everyday Anne. I hope you're resting easy.
Anne Bancroft was a true GOAT - Greatest Of All Time
