thank you so much for this upload all a bit before my time but stuff of tt legend i started going in mid 70s that,s when the "tt bug" got me to hear the tones of geoff cannell again a added pleasure to me and many fans he was the voice of the tt !!!! as live in north west uk pick up his saturday sports slot on car radio (if not not buy the car) days of twiddley knobs bit harder now with auto tune push button progress have driver to winter hill do multiple search till hits then store !!! still recall his tt countdown each week with background screaming bike and his co host george ?? how many f,s in ferguson got all the latest upcoming tt news and southern 100 manx race reports of island happy days now over to st johns for match update via phone line !!!
I was at bottom of Barregaroo for 1967 Senior. Epic race. I went to my first TT in 1962 to bottom of Bray Hill. I was 17. I'm 72 now. I'll never forget Hailwood & Gary Hocking on the MV's. The sound & speed was incredible. 😃
My first TT. Magic. Viewed at Signpost, Bungalow and Governors. Went with my mate Jim. Camped in a field at Whitebridge, Onchan. Went back in 1968 and took my bike. Mike was head and shoulders above everybody - same line every lap. One chap had is camera set up on a tripod and Mike appeared in the view finder on every lap, no adjustments needed. I was 17.
Kevin Molloy from Dublin,I was in a garden at the bottom of Bray Hill,1967, and to watch Mike and Ago roar down ,the scream of the Honda anf the MV to sounded nearly as good as the Beatles,!! I shook both od their hands in the pits,as a school kid in 1964,those days you could access the pits, and meet your hero, swhat a time to be grown up !!
You are probably fed up with me writing this but mine is the hysterical voice on the Stanley Schofield LP record willing Mike on during his pit stop in the epic Senior TT. Trying to make his throttle secure.... with a hammer. He later went up in the Westland Whirlwing rescue helicopter for a joy ride. When he landed he got out still wearing his leathers and signed my autograph book.
Great video, I am hoping to contact or speak with any fans, journalists or riders who remember 67' any suggestions? For example I would love to contact Ted McCauley
