And what makes it even sadder is that glee was on the same channel as American idol
logan castleman sadder still glee was a better show for music in general.
To be fair Glee also rejected an American Idol runner up (who absolutely should have won) before he went on to audition for American Idol, Adam Lambert. Although that rejection wasn't so much a 'you're not good enough for it', but more of a, 'you can't pull off 16 convincingly at 26 (even though Cory Monteith was the same age, he just had more of a baby face) and you probably aren't quite right for the part'. I definitely can't imagine Adam Lambert as dopey and as 'out there' as white bread jock Finn Hudson. Clearly no hard feelings though since Adam did a guest stint in season 5.

Amber maybe, but she's not really setting the world on fire on the music charts. She's more suited to singing on stage and maybe some tv. Naya, I'm sure they don't care about rejecting. Woman has gone off the deep end and doesn't really have the career to back up her ego.

Amber Riley is such a power house she gives me chills.
Why was Jordin Sparks there and not Tori Kelly. Jordin Sparks ended up wining the show so it wasn't really a complete rejection if she was able to get back on the show and then win it in the end, while singers like Tori Kelly, Jennifer Hudson, Todrick Hall, and Scott Hoying auditioned and didn't make it through the whole competition but ended up successful.
Tori, Jennifer, and Todrick made it on the show and were voted off, but Scott didn't even get on the show so he was rejected.

Guys Glee was basically the life story of Rachel Barry. Her friends and rivals were apart of that life so they were included for the ride. She was the protagonist. It was called Glee to sound more inclusive. That's just my takeaway. I don't know if I would have been that excited to jump on the Rachel Barry Show bandwagon.

American Idol, like every other reality singing competition show, isn't about talent; it's about ratings. The producers don't care if your a great singer unless you look a certain way and can give them sales or ratings. Jordan Sparks auditioned multiple times then went on to win. Hey vocals didn't improve, she just created a buzz for herself by competing in other competitions.
Susan Boyle wasn't good looking but finished #2 on the show she was on.
I saw Amber perform in the Glee tour in the UK. I was so intently listening to her - I didn't realise at first I was in floods of tears because she was so amazing
The biggest star that AI rejected was Bruno Mars. He auditioned in AI season 3 and got a NO at age 18. Well look at him now.😂😂😂
He probably got paid to increase the shows ratings. Winning a tv show contest statistically isnt that good for your career.
Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol and her career is going strong. She has her own talk show, has put out tons of music, has been on tour (I've seen her live). She will be relevant for years to come.
Nope. That would be Jennifer Hudson. TV, STAGE, and FILM. 5 Grammy Awards, 1 Golden Globe, and 1 Academy Award (OSCAR). And she is still, today, one of the most popular, respected, gifted, requested, talents in the world. Still Relevant.

Ghost Face Danny Noriega was never cut by the judges, he was voted off in the Last Round of semifinals, same with Todrick Hall 2 years later
The problems with being a singer is that they are a dime a dozen. You just need that one hit. Heck there are plenty of singers who literally can't sing, but they got the "look", and was in the right place at the right time. Point is, never give up. One day it might pay off.

Some aspiring artists take the word of American Idol judges as gold. This video proves that they don’t always know what they’re talking about, nor make the best decisions as far as who makes it on the show and who doesn’t. You can rest assured that some mediocre singer made it onto the show in place of each one of these featured artists.

I loved Glee. My favorite Naya cover on Glee was Valerie. The tone of her voice was perfect in that cover. My favorite Amber Glee performance was from the concert DVD when she sings Ain’t No Way. Almost every Glee member was crazy talented in their own right.

Not true though Kelly Clarkson won her season and Carrie Underwood as well (I think) and they have very successful careers. All this means is that American Idol has let talented people slip through the cracks.
