Your experimental way of making music reminds me of Aphex Twin and DJ Shadow. I love it! This particular song seems like it would be created by combining of both of them.
My guess for the Yamaha HandySound HS-500 is that it is a dirty on-off switch contact. I cleaned up a similar simple Casio keyboard that appeared to have been unused for a very long time. The first time I was testing it I switched it off but it was making the kind of noises you mentioned in your video. Using deoxit and exercising the power switch a bit solved the issue.

Or corrosion (oxidation) of the power switch charged the capacitor very slowly and when the voltage increased enough to turn on the amplifier it immediately discharged creating a pop?
