Pressing 89 Buttons 😴

- In this extremely boring and annoying video I press the 89 buttons on the JVC RX-1001V Super DigiFine Digital Accoustics Proces System Receiver with DigitalAP and Compu Link remote...

This is how it looks when your inner child survives.
Never ever lose it. You will die if you do.
“All work and no play makes Posy a dull boy”
Radio preset name?
@@unusedaccount-b7t yep, he set the first few presets to do that :)
@op lol.
"Child me would be in heaven" is completely relatable. I loved Hi-fi units too, but few people had around.😐
I remember my dad having a "Technics" Receiver with a pitch shifter. After a while we figured out how to morph our voices through it. He was not pleased - but we were delighted
There are 89 buttons on this receiver, and up until now I've pressed them all, except for one. This one. Go ahead, Charlie.
We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams

MC/MM would likely mean Movng Coil or Moving Magnet for the phono output. You'd set that to whichever type of cartridge your turntable has.
Input
It's really bizarre, I feel like this SHOULD be boring, but for some reason the way you do it is incredibly engaging...
Yeah, as somebody who has a similairly deep obsession with a slightly different topic, the fact that I know Posy has something to say about each of those buttons makes me really excited to hear about each and every one of them.
@@electron8262true, true
To elaborate further, the loudness button (sometimes called contour) follows whats called an equal loudness curve. Basicaly, our ears are less sensitive to low frequencies at low volume. The loudness function adds bass at low volume level, and takes it away at high levels (aswell as playing with the treble a bit)
Also I believe the MC/MM is for the turntable preamp
No the MC/MM button is to switch between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
MM / MC is for use with a tuntable to choose between Moving Magnet or Moving Coil cartridge.
What he said, it's an old persons thing to know.
ok but the effects at 3:19 make his voice sound lowkey angelic
I've had to imagine him singing the Halo theme
I didn't really get when you said in the main video "I bought it so you don't have to". Now I fully understand why you said that. I also would have spent hours going through all the features and clicking all 89 buttons, and then never would have used them ever again.
The "Sound selector" button lets you switch audio and video inputs independently - for example, you could watch the video from VCR1, but listen to audio from the CD input instead. Many others beat me to it - the MM/MC button is for the phono input pre-amp. It selects different phono cartridge types (Moving Magnet or Moving Coil) - basically different levels of gain (and RC loading) but phono carts are a deep rabbit hole, and it is full of opinions, much like the microphones in that comparison video you posted. I also have an obsession with 80's/90's audio, and could almost open a JVC museum. I don't have a RX-1001V, as the flagship models still cost too much, but I do have a RX-999V with the same design/display, and I definitely pushed every button at least once.
this is peak content
I hear my mother yelling at me to stop playing with the stereo now! 😂 yes I’ve heard it before. I even remember my mother hiding the remote of the Yahama RX-460 when she bought it in 1990. lol
MC/MM are phono cartridge settings
dang it i wanna say it first xD
@@MisterYeko You could still be the first to say it was for selecting between Moving Coil or Moving Magnet. Oh wait. Forget I said anything.
Yup, this is the proof that Posy is indeed lazy. 😂
@@99solutionsit10 not sure if he used Turntable before, i see his Closet mostly Hi fi hear and Cassette Decks.
@@MisterYeko it was just a joke. 😄
I would have had that reverb on all the time as a kid. Movies, TV, Nintendo; all saturated in reverb. Plus the smiley-face eq setting. Everyone thought that was cool in the 80's.
I used to put reverb on the TV all the time... it's great on the news.... one minute a very boring prrson is talking about economics... then at the press of a button........ ooooh spooky!
90th button : the LIKE one.
I loved this video, thanks!
Can confirm its boring but fun to watch because its Lazy Posy
I enjoyed this! 10:39 FYI “Preset Scan” cycles through your radio presets, each for a few seconds. When you hear a program you like, you stop the scan to stay on that station. More commonly found on car stereo units.
"Child-me would be in heaven." As is adult Posy.
Not boring at all. Your videos are always beautiful.
That church reverb is out of this world
Although a more fitting way to name it would have been "dungeon"
This is what my childhood looked like. Reminds me of my old man. Thank you.
Great! Now I know how to use a receiver I'll never own
I had this and I'd totally forgotten! It was the first higher end receiver that I was allowed to buy after being married. I loved it, but it popped and made smoke. So did my x-wife. I wish I still had the receiver.
We need to feed the Halo theme through this thing with the church reverb effect.
I love surround receivers. Thank you for showing what this one can do!
I've watched this for the 3rd time, I can almost remember the buttons from memory now XD
I really enjoyed your video, I have always wanted to see a video like this, not boring at all
Thank you very much for sharing
I can't believe I'm now finding out about lazyposy
This was nice to watch before going to bed.
Wow, 🎉🎉 I loved the whole video! I haven't seen much from you but you're so funny. I have to watch more with you. I think I need to press all buttons too on my old music keyboard and record it too!!!
MC/MM does of course refer to the type of cartridge you use for your turntable.
The wood looks dope
for the absurd amount of buttons on this, it's surprisingly easy to figure out once you know what all the words mean
I had the JVC EQ from around this time. They certainly an easily identifiable aesthetic. I recognised it straight away.
Not boring at all Posy, another great video.
Nothing like enjoying my breakfast with a chorus of Posy angels at 3:10 😇
I have no idea why I just watched this whole video, but I don't regret it.
When the lazy video is longer than the main channel one
This is my favourite of the lazy videos
Very comprehensive. I like it!
I had this unit hooked up to my TV, stereo, and my 1992 Mac Centris. The Sound was amazing for music. However, with a game like Orcs and Humans, it would make me crack up with delight. That said, I think I had more patience then to tinker around. Right now, I plan to buy a sound bar that only requires bluetooth.
You did not press all the buttons! You forgot the Power button! Probably the most satysfying of them all! How could you?
1st button... About the 1min mark ☺️
@@jackadams8745 But it was not pressed again! ;-;
It looks like it would be really satisfying.
What are you up to?
Watching a guy push all 89 buttons on an old Audio receiver.
Oh
(wife backed away and closed the bedroom door)
MC/MM is MagiC and More MagiC (and yes, something to do with recordplayers)
Those reverbs actually sound quite good!
No fart - no fun😅 In the church (reverb)
Deze video is anders gewoon zeer interessant hoor, heb hem helemaal uit gekeken ;)
The MC/MM selector is for the Phono input. It changes the element characteristics from Moving Coil(Way better) to Moving Magnet(Only cheap elements).
De MC/MM Knop is voor de Phono input. het veranderd de element karakteristieken van Moving Coil(De veel betere keuze) naar Moving Magnet(alleen goedkope elementen)
Arnie sounding rage 0:06 😂😂😂
I will watch anything this man puts out
MC/MM is most likely moving cartridge/moving magnet, for record players. While this vid might be boring, still watched the whole thing!
Posy I would watch you talk about the chemical process of paint drying in real time
Push that button, push-it, I know you can do-it :)
It's like "57 Channels (And Nothin' On)"...
now only the remote buttons are left to press :)
Very nice high-end receiver!
JVC hates Posy. He really pushes all of their buttons!
MC on the prefix of artists is said to mean Master Concert/Master of Concert so I assume MC is that in the button/indicator lamps context as well.. though idk as opposed to what exactly the other one moght be.. but neat wither way :D
I am still watching. Lazily, but I am still watching.
Symphony Hall, recital Hall, but no Anthony Michael Hall?
What's a curious receiver and funny video 👍
There will one day be a compilation of posy saying “sorry, sorry, sorry”. Will it be made by me? Maybe?
Posy: boring boring lazy and boring!
Me: Omg! And what this button do?
Not enough buttons mate !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
At 9:00, only a fraction of the available alphabet has been shown. I now feel the urge to learn which characters were available and what they looked like, especially with these custom ears on the left, the ones that differentiate B and D from 8 and 0. An idea for another lazy video maybe.
When you got to Second row I thought "good, half over", but then there is a third row....
this post was boring and I stopped after less than half but I still gave it a thumbs up because I endorse you making these kinds of videos
Ik heb ooit de Rx950 gehad, jammer genoeg de eindtrap weg geblazen maar nooit meer laten repareren :( wel hele fijne receivers
It looks absolutely gorgeous but as you mentioned in the video - all the reverb stuff is completely useless, kinda funny - it probably took quite a lot of desiging and r&d to get this thing out...
electric guitar players pay a lot for reverb pedals. Only a matter of time until someone places one of these absolute UNITS on their pedalboard for reverb.
I love it!, no woke crap here!, not boring at all. I knew what to expect from the title. Love the style in which you present. Having spent thousands on HiFi over the decades, it is interesting to see what others buy/think/own.
Could the mm, mc button be moving magnet or moving coil turntable cartridge types for a built in phono preamp?
3:15 original HALO theme
"I've got 89 buttons but a..."
4:44 Moving Coil and Moving Magnet are different settings for turntable cartridges
edit: other people commented this too
Good stuff
Love this video
Amazing content
The line inputs are prbably not the same. For example "Phono" is for record players. Without an external amplifier the signal is pretty week. So the Phono input is more sensitive than the other. At least in my experience.
For all my fellow fondlers
I think you forgot to press "preset scan", at least I didn't hear it click
the posy is Lazy However The Posy is also Dedicated to pressing 89 buttons
Dj ECHO in the mix
Moving coil / moving magnet. Phono cartridge output selection. 😮
Exciting 😊
Only true 80s men (with more hair on they breasts than on their heads) could operate such devices correctly ... I admit it, I can't get enough of this marvelous monstrosity. Im still sitting here even after the video has ended already. *sigh*
Sound selector was a way recording Video and audio from different devices I.E. Video from TV and say the better sound quality from say a tuner remember this unit came out in 1989/1990 so JVC/Victor where trying out new technology
You said you were going to press every button but you didn't actually press the "auto memory" button. You just touched it. 0/10.
kcuF, I wasted 12 minutes and 6 seconds of my life for nothing then😢
That's the lazy touch 😉
hey posy what are the headphones?
Sony MDR-CD2000
idk maybe it needs more buttons
Never clicked so fast lol
Same!
THD of 0.007% Now thats impressive even if it is digital.
What model are those sony headphones?
Sony MDR-CD2000
@@mccabedylan thank you
This video is cool
SPOILER!
he never pressed auto memory or memory...
What headphones is he using?
Sony MDR-CD2000
Sorry, but I am enjoying this lazy video very much.
It was indeed very boring!
Not even 90 buttons? Pssh
an ex-gabber .... bip bapbeluple...
