What I feel is also important outside of the message is what this film shows. Namely it cost a little over $10 Million, basically pocket change with almost entirely unknown actors and yet It looks, Sounds and Feels like a legit movie. No CGI, No Overpaid A List Actors with a $25 Million Price tag, no Green Screen or any of that crap.

I honestly thought I couldn’t be shocked by mass media’s double think anymore, but this, this absolutely floored me. The same publications that praised Netflix’s cuties as somehow “tackling real issues” think Sound of Freedom overplays the worst depravities in human existence. They’re fine with overplaying and sensationalizing climate change, military, political, social, and corporate corruption, they’re fine with sensationalizing all that, but they think that a dramatized account of fighting (censored for YT) is where we should draw the line?
I don’t think my opinion could ever get any lower for these people. They don’t go around saying “Mission Impossible is a Scientology tinged conspiracy case.” No, they only choose to care about what an actor believes in when they dislike the actor. These people are monsters.
As for the conspiracy theory angle, I offer my congratulations to the mass media for increasing the number of conspiracy theorists. Seriously, if I was a conspiracy theorist then I’d think that this was the whole goal, increase the number of conspiracy theorists just so they have someone to tail against. But I know the truth, they’re just morally debased and stupid.

This gets long, I'm sorry. But this subject is personal, so I have a lot to say.
As someone whose family has been personally harmed by this sort of crime, I really appreciate what you say here SO much.
My cousin was taken from us when she was just 12 years old. That was way back in 1984. Maybe some aren't close to their cousins, but to me she was like a 2nd "mom". I was a toddler and she watched me every day. Losing her (someone who became a vital part of my everyday life) at such a vital developmental stage so suddenly deeply affected me negatively in a very real way my ENTIRE LIFE.
So much so, I ended up becoming obsessed with True Crime, and majoring in Criminology. I think as a coping mechanism. I'm someone who is naturally pretty analytical. My first instinct when something is a problem, big or small, is to break it down and figure out what went wrong, what I need to do different etc, in order to avoid that happening in the future.
I got almost to the point of getting my degree...
But once I got to the part where I had to actually interview criminals, I cracked.
After interviewing a young man in prison who had SA'd and then 💀 his toddler sister, it broke me. It was too close to home. I felt sickened in my soul just being there.
But, he told me something I will NEVER forget:
"I know what I did was evil. I really WANT to NEVER do it again... But if they EVER let me out, I WILL. No question. I will find another one and do it. I won't be able to help it. People like me don't get better. We should NEVER be let out. Please. Do whatever you can to make sure people like me go away FOREVER."
Before that day, I thought MAYBE there could be some kind of treatment. I had hope that something could be done.
After that interview, I knew that was not the case. I knew these people were lost. Like serial killers. Something went permanently wrong... They were lost to evil.
I've only recently become religious. I used to reject using the word "evil", because I worried perhaps it let people like that, who make bad choices, off the hook a bit. Like this evil just "happens to them", and if they just get right with Jesus or whatever, it'll all be ok.
Seeing what I have seen happen in mainstream society over the past 40 years, and ESPECIALLY the past 5 or so... I feel like the world is stranger than we can know. I now am of the opinion that true Evil does exist. Is it literal demons, or are "demonic forces" just a poetic way of describing scientifically sound natural, psychological and sociological issues? I'm not sure it really matters. The function seems to be the same.
Anyway, in some ways, I'm glad I decided to become a stay at home mom instead of finishing that path. Though, I do sometimes wish I had the guts and willpower to have stuck with it. Which is why I deeply appreciate anyone who works to save kids like this.
This crime was a problem way before 1984, it was a problem when my cousin was taken, and has only gotten worse.
I won't go into super detail on her case, because anytime I do, youtube starts censoring literally every comment I make for weeks. But basically, Bad guy neighbor took kids, over and over, to "make home movies" to sell. He did that to her. She tried to get away. He stopped her. Permanently. Blamed it on one of the other kids he had taken that was living with him.
Well, it worked: The boy went away to juvie (kids weren't charged as adults back then, in CA).
Why did it go down this way? Cop on the case seemed to imply honour family that big wigs shut the case down, despite there being evidence this guy was officially a sicko hurting kids. It just became a case were a "troubled boy" hurt a little girl to just "see what it was like". Even though the boy said otherwise. Even though there was evidence otherwise. The DA simply WOULD NOT CHARGE this man. He got away with it.
This was in The Valley (Los Angeles suburb, about 20 mins from Hollywood. It basically is Hollywood), btw. And this man used "Hollywood Connections" to get access to kids. But I'm sure that's "just a coincidence".
Again, this was all the way back in 84. It never stopped being a problem.
The fact people like this brainless Rolling Stone hack will downplay it like it's just some conspiracy (and recent at that!) is SO disgusting to me, on such a personal level, it literally hurts my soul. I have a hard time expressing just how ENRAGED it makes me. So I really appreciate what you say here. THANK YOU. (And bless you if you managed to read this entirely WAY too long, rambly mess 😂)

      @beksc9209 5 месяцев назад +1

I understand your concern about the use of the word "evil." Regardless of their circumstances or context, people who make evil choices still chose those evil choices. They are still morally and legally culpable. God's forgiveness thru Jesus doesn't remove consequences. If God didn't believe in consequences, Jesus never would have had to die. Jesus' humanity and sacrificial death were direct consequences of mankind's sin. Jesus took the consequences of man's sin---a severed relationship from God and death---so that man does not have to. However, the sins of unbelievers and folk who have become Christians still have an impact on their lives. All of mankind is evil, utterly hopeless in his wretched debauchery. God compares our "righteous acts" to a woman's filthy menstrual rags. The only way a person can be free of his sin, his innate evil, is to agree with God that he is evil, that the only way for him to have a good relationship with God is to accept Jesus' sacrifice for his sins. God raised Jesus from the dead, showing his satisfaction with Jesus' sacrifice and promising new, eternal life to all who would believe in him. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
Many of Jesus' followers throughout history have died terrible deaths, lived difficult lives, because of mankind's hatred for God. Nor does God take away all consequences when he forgives a person. He simply no longer holds that person's sin against him---e.g., one might personally forgive someone who stole something from him but still desire that he face due legal process; that he pay for his crimes.
Nonetheless, it often seems as tho wickedness goes unpunished, as tho the wicked even prosper. But, "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good," and: 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay,' says the Lord."
Yes, demons are actual spiritual beings given wholly over to evil and wickedness without hope of redemption such as God offers mankind. The demons, too, God shall punish in his own good time.
Edit: Also, thank you for your comment. I cannot imagine the toll that took on you. I will pray for you you I remember you.

To the point they started twisting the word "theory"
They try to play it off as saying That it's only a theory, means that it doesn't exist When they know The description means that it has yet to have been proven or disproven. But you know how these conspiracy's work. The entire point is to convince people that a term doesn't mean what it means. They treat the audience as though they're stupid People like Rolling stones. That's what I love using buzzwords and such To control the language. It's no longer a theory once proven or disproven. Which is why they are trying to twist the description of the actual word. So the brain-dead individuals they're trying to preach to Will hear it's just a conspiracy theory. And in their mind they'll conclude that oh it's not real then. That's the result they want. But as this video has already proven from its thumbnail. In their attempt to gaslight the small amount of people they're still tricking. They're self snitching on themselves. But they do so under the belief that it won't matter. And eventually they'll have their asses covered. When there's small potatoes, if their manswers see that it costs more to save their asses, then it is to just toss them to the side. They will be burned. And the kicker is their fellow allies won't care. They won't care that they're higher Ups have shown how expendable they are. Instead, They'll just go with well it ain't me and move on With that part In the back of their head that yes they are expendable. When that should been painfully obvious you're working for politicians and CEO. That kind of applies to everything they write. They just expect the reader to consume and assimilate the authors opinion as their own. My wife is always asking me about things that her friends get all up in arms about and it takes me about 5 minutes or less usually to find out the actual facts to disprove whatever headline people got in a snit about. For example, she sent me this link asking if it was true that Gov Abbott of Texas had banned water breaks for people that work outside (this was early July when we’re at 189 degrees in the shade). Because that’s what the news headline said. Little bit of digging and the bill actually was to streamline regulation at the state level so it wasn’t a hodgepodge of regulations between counties and cities. But it had the effect of removing two water break work regulations in two cities in Texas (Houston and Austin). Dallas, San Antonio and the other 95% of the state didn’t have this regulation. Plus the state was currently working to put in place a statewide mandatory water break regulation for hot working conditions.
But the media hates any effective conservative governor so you get a news story about Gov Abbott wanting all the construction workers to die of heatstroke because he’s a big meanie butt.

I personally might go and watch sound of freedom now. I actually work with kids. I work in a country club that supports actual kids with real families, and I would honestly feel horrible if anything happened to them in the sense that they were taken from their families and sold into slavery against their will. However there’s one bit in particular in this video that REALLY struck a chord with me. That ending bit about porn consumption.
I used to be a porn addict myself. I would watch porn all the time and would often waste several hours of my day watching it. That ending bit spoke to me because I can’t proudly say I work with kids if I watch the very things that perpetuate that kind of culture in the world. So glad I’ve been replacing porn with anime instead. Thank you so much for opening my eyes Greg!

Near the end of the training, we heard a couple of stories about foster children (who had probably been in really bad situations that messed them up) making false reports about their foster parents, and those foster parents, in turn, losing custody of their own children to CPS. I confess that I balked. There are a lot of sacrifices I'm willing to make to help, but the welfare and safety of my own child just wasn't one of them. I think the Jungle operation was inspired by another operation Tim Ballard did once where his team posed as doctors/medics.
But I think they just took that general concept and made it a solo extraction mission to up the suspense.
I think the problem was that the actual Island Hotel operation went off without a hitch once it was all coordinated. They also added the moment of the fat guy trying to take one of the kids off for a quick little rape in the middle of the operation to add more suspense. When in the real event, the kids were taken to a safe place completely separate from the traffickers.

And it was not a documentary either but based on real events, like Sound of Freedom. It was all, "if ONE child suffered from a priest we need to hold them accountable and this movie exposed the corruption!"
But a conservative studio releases a movie about child trafficking and the same people all shout, "of this is all conspiracy nonsense! Most kids are not taken from streets, this did not happen exactly the way it did in real life! Grumble Grumble". It is pure 100% partisan sour grapes.

The shipping container and the fat guy and the jungle guy were subtly terrifying. The fat guy chose Miguel so he could leverage his sister. The jungle guy is actually tender when moving the girl from one bed to the other and telling her “I would never hurt you” as he’s undoing his belt. It was sinister and makes my skin crawl.

@@gregowen2022 What made the container chilling was you first see the kids witht a bunch of crates of stuff, which you assume is just cargo or something cause it's a shipping container. Then you see later on most of the crates are open revealing empty bottles of water and such and realize that was food and water to keep those kids alive, meaning they were likely stuck in that container for weeks, and realized they had to ration that stuff lest they starve or die of dehydration.

I enjoyed it, but I think it added unnecessary length. I would have liked to have seen the girl rescued on the island, it felt like a solid wrap up point. The issue now, in hindsight, is that people want to attack the movie and they can now claim the whole thing is exaggerated when just that last bit is embellished.

Amazing video Greg and thanks, I have been appreciating your perspecitve for some time now. My wife and I are planning to go see the movie, it's not out yet here in Australia. I'm so glad it is going well despite the negative press. Most of all I appreciated your genuine integrity in this video- calling out truth where it is needed. Keep up the great work with this content!

@@gregowen2022 I agree with you, because I thought the same thing with other areas of my life and the community that I live in....I find something in myself or my community that needs to be worked on, and it gets talked about for a few weeks, but then nothing after that.
I think it's time to make a change to that.

Thank you for bringing up the bit about the last act. I really don't understand why it was done that way. Ending it, even if that means he doesn't find her, would have been the gut punch ending it should have been.
All that being said, everything else up to that point is near perfect film making. I'd put it around an 8/10, largely because of the last act. Jim Cavezil and Bill Camp, the guy in Columbia, were fantastic. And as good as Jim was, I think Camp was even better (probably because his character has a little more layering to it).

The idea that we are "awash with p*rn" sounds crazy until you learn about the Lizzo scandal. These seem unrelated until you read the court documents where the dancers claim she made them attend a sex show to watch some nasty stuff. I don't know if she wanted to do that just for fun or if she wanted the dancers to take inspiration from the 'performances.' It does explain how raunchy music videos are becoming. I still can't watch Sam Smith's music video with the watersports scene. 🤢

Saw it last night with my wife and son. All I can say is, wow! Not sure what, but I feel like I need to do something. It’s a real hero film.
So, why does it make some people hate it instead of hating human trafficking? I can only guess. It is not a good look, though.

The author of this article, who is white by the way, wants to lecture us all on the white saviour trope, when that's not what this is at all in fact I don't even recall the movie mentioning Ballard's race because his race is literally irrelevant. This author probably embodies the qualities of a white saviour that he insists he is against. Isn't it also strange how Rolling Stone agrees to publish this braindead article, but when Cuties was receiving rightful backlash and outrage for sexualising literal children Rolling Stone comes to the defence of that movie, claiming it was just a "Coming of Age Movie" that was "Caught in the culture wars" and the poster which quite literally sexualised children was brushed off as a "marketing mistake." A movie sexualising it's child actors is fine, but a movie advocating against child trafficking isn't? That speaks volumes.

I've seen a lot of support for Sound of Freedom on...X (it feels weird that it's called X now) when the film was out and I didn't care for the movie because it's not my type of movie but the attacks that the movie and Jim Caviezel is getting is sickening.

And the left take the Mormons because of polygamy polygamy is seen as the cardinal sin in feminism
