Holy Mother of God. I had no problem shedding tears around strangers. I went alone as my wife didn't think she could do it. This was my first movie in theaters this year. WHAT A MOVIE!! Sitting beside a stranger crying together. no shame. Just real. Go and see this movie and feed your humanity. Thanks for reviewing. New subscriber here.

I find it interesting that Disney had the rights to distribute it for the last five years but refused to do so. Eventually they agreed to sell it to Angel Studios which now has released it in theatres.... Ironically it has already recouped its original budget and has made more money in ticket sales yesterday than Disney's Indiana Jones and the dial of Destiny movie... Karma is real!

It’s from a small Christian film company, but it doesn’t use that as an excuse to not be a well made film. It’s not perfect, but it does what it sets out to do which is to tell a strong story that connects the audience to the cause.

Almost like Skinamarink earlier this year, maybe even Schindler’s List like someone else said. Like Schindler’s List, everyone should see it to know. I worry that Angel Studios' name behind it will put a flavor of bad Christian feel-good movies in peoples mouth as it did mine before seeing the film because that is not what it is at all. I do agree about the length of the film, but done intetionally I think to make a point; rescuing these poor children takes a long time to find them, then plan a sting without the cartel finding out about it. If there was a big crescendo, I don't think it could show the horror these children go through. It is a long process for the children and those rescuing them to endure, which could take a very long time. There's no great cescendo for them, only endless horror and long uneventful time ticking by, save their being sold for sex and being scared. Are they waiting to be saved? Have they lost hope? We have time throughout those 2 hours to reflect on this reality. Im sure most of the children have lost hope. So, in defense of the long show time, I think this is the purpose; to get people's attention. That this is a real happening now, on a grand scale. Not a made up story for entertainment. It is something horrifying going on right now. As we are safe asleep in our comfortable beds at night, protected from the horrors these kidnapped children are going through while we sleep peacfully. That's how I feel. We must be awakened to do something to help these children, even just praying for them. If we feel called to do more, remember the the line ...'when God calls you to do something, you do not hesitate'. We can all help in some small way or even help rescue them. Whatever God calls each of us to do. "God's children are not for sale" Love to you, my brothers and sisters.

Watched the movie yesterday and I like the reality aspect over the minimal theatrics. The subject matter didn't need to be intensified with a soundtrack like Law and Order SUV every ten minutes. The real-life emotional devastation of loss of family into human trafficking network didn't need to be over dramatized for the benefit of the viewers and critics for the sake of sensationalism terror. Hollywood has conditioned their consumers over the decades with sex and violence involving blood lust in the mix like reverb into music as a space enhancement. This movie for obvious reasons doesn't want to come off as a Tarantino smut and gut thrill a minute. It takes on the dirty reality of the wicked things condoned and supported in a politically manufactured economic industry trying to grow on a scale the way weed, drugs, and gambling has over the last 100 years. You trying to find another Christian willing to make this type of movie any better and work inside the constraints of taste and class, just maybe there might be some hope for mankind. 92% rotten and 100% audience is Outstanding in my book.

I agree it relies on the fact that it’s true to sell the tension . It could have showed a bit more of the effects of the situation to certain characters to drive the emotion more , like the father living alone and seeing other kids with their family . Maybe showing how common or often the issue was happening in all areas (to show scope). I feel sudiences are desensitized in general so it could have driven trauma more, the hopeless feeling more .
The real person who did this mission tells some devastating details in his interviews and those interviews are more weighty than the film . They might have underestimated what an audience can handle . That being said I think they are making more films on this guy so maybe they will open up the harsh reality of it even more

I think having the movie in such a way where it doesnt necessarily build tension or consquense was a good move. I think "based on a true story" films sometimes are ruined when the director wants to add dramatic moments or a huge climax that doesn't feel realistic. The music doesnt persuade you how to react to a scene. It is very raw. I think the movie did a very good job of portraying each scene in the way it happened in real life.
Like it didn't try to act like the protagonists won after he saved those kids. No fancy music or cinematics like when indiana jones freed the slaves. The movie ends on the basis that the problem is still as big as ever. The big climax happens when we speak about this movie to get our government leaders to do something about these child traffickers.

    Somebody please spread this message:
    Dear Chairman,
I am writing to you today as a concerned citizen who firmly believes in the power of the media to shed light on critical issues affecting our society. It has come to my attention that an alarming situation is unfolding at the southern borders of our nation-a situation that demands immediate attention and action.
According to credible reports and testimonies from various sources, including nonprofit organizations dedicated to combating human trafficking, it is estimated that a staggering $14 million is being generated daily through the heinous crime of child sex trafficking at our southern borders. This horrifying reality is a stark reminder that innocent children, our fellow human beings, are being exploited and subjected to unimaginable suffering for the greed of others.
What is deeply troubling is the apparent lack of effort or urgency displayed by our current presidential administration in addressing this pressing issue. The fact that such a massive and reprehensible crime is allowed to persist under their watch raises serious questions about their commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us. As concerned citizens, we must not turn a blind eye to this grave injustice.
It is our firm belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment, free from the clutches of exploitation and abuse. Our country was built on the principles of justice, compassion, and the protection of individual rights. It is disheartening to witness the continued suffering of innocent children who are falling victim to this horrifying crime.
We firmly believe that justice will prevail, and those responsible for perpetuating these heinous acts will face the consequences of their actions. Through the force of the Holy Spirit and the unwavering determination of individuals and organizations fighting against child sex trafficking, we remain hopeful that a brighter future awaits these young souls.
As members of the media, you have a powerful platform to inform and educate the public about pressing societal issues. We urge you to use your influence and resources to shed light on the alarming realities of child sex trafficking at our southern borders. It is crucial that the American people are not kept in the dark by our government, but rather empowered with the knowledge and awareness necessary to drive meaningful change.
We implore you to initiate investigative journalism, publish compelling stories, and engage in thought-provoking discussions that bring attention to this pressing issue. By doing so, you will not only help raise public awareness but also encourage our government to prioritize the eradication of child sex trafficking and the protection of our nation's most precious resource-the children.
Let us join hands and work together to ensure that our society provides a safe and secure future for all children. By uniting our voices, we can demand the necessary actions and policies to end child sex trafficking, bring the perpetrators to justice, and provide support and healing for the survivors.
Thank you for your time, attention, and dedication to your vital role as a guardian of truth and justice. Together, we can make a difference and create a world where God's children are not for sale.
May the force of the Holy Spirit guide us in our pursuit of justice.
    Respectfully,
    WE THE PEOPLE
