Thanks for all your comments. My sister and I love to knit and crochet, but unfortunately we live in different states. As you can see, I'm not a professional RUclipsr. I post these videos so that I can share tips with her and her daughter. I hate weaving in ends, and when I came across this join, I knew knew I had to share it. Thanks again for liking my video.
Thank you, thank you! I have watched three other videos repeatedly and could never get this to work until I found your video! I did it! Thank you again!
Thanks! And thanks for taking it so slowly. So many of these videos speed through things because the person who is doing it is used to doing it in automatic, but that can really make it difficult to digest it. Here you gave enough time to totally get behind the method. :)
Tried it once, followed the video TO - THE - LETTER - and it worked, immediately, first time! Did it a few more times to ensure it wasn't a fluke - and it's fantastic! Brilliant way to join either different colour yarns, or a continuation of the same yarn - with a seamless join! Per-Fecto!! Thanks !!
Thank you so much. I wish I found your video earlier as I had made a blanket with the silky soft yarn & it was hard joinging the yarn and not slipping off. This is such a great way I will use it. Thank you again for this video.
Wow! Thank you! I had to try a few times, but I think I figured it out now. This is wonderful! A real game changer for me, too! This is TRULY the most helpful video I have viewed in years! Thanks again
I watched another video similar to this more than 100 times and still could not get it. Watching yours, I realized it was the 3rd wrap I was messing up. I finally got it. Thank you.
Amazing! I used this technique to join Thick and quick yarn, Missed it the first time but the second time was perfect! Didn't even have to trim. I showed hubby with a worsted weight last night and it was magical. The yarn didn't appear to have a knot at all! Thank You so much for sharing this wonderful video!
omg,I've been knitting since I was a little girl and I never thought to try to find an other way to join my yarn. Thank you've turned ugly joined yarn into a beautiful one.
Brilliant!! Worked from the first try, and every time since!! I'd looked at other videos and given up. Thank you so much!! What I was previously doing wrong... It's kind of hard to see, but the first two wraps go around the front thumb, and around the back of the tails but pinched in front of the pointer finger. Thank you again!
I've been using many colors in my knitting and I've had many, many ends to weave in. I just went looking for a method of avoiding weaving in ends, and I like yours best. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm about to do that. I wish you'd make more videos.
Yay I did it! After watching video after video, a different method than this one and then the same method, yours was finally the one that stuck for me, thanks so much!
I was left with a very short end whilst darning in. I used this method and able to lengthen yarn to darn in securely, A bit difficult getting it under knitted stitches but if you lift stitch a little and help it through. Its easy! Thankyou so much.
I give up! I've never been more frustrated when trying to learn something new. After approximately 40 attempts and yards of yarn, I've come to the conclusion this just isn't meant to be. Scrolling down and reading some of the other comments, I don't feel so bad as I'm not alone in my frustration. Kudos to those of you who grasped the concept.
the trick is you need to wrap around your thumb, i was at first wrapping around the two fingers, leaving one dangling and one in knot. and gently pull the for the string to slide off the thumb
Hi Irma just wanted to let you know that my dad tried to teach me this knot for years but he always went so fast I couldn't pick it up till I saw you do it, you see my dad was a broadloom weaver and time was money, this is known as a weavers knot, love your channel you are a great teacher, all the best from Bonnie Scotland x
Thanks Carol, I had a friend show me this knot technique and I thought it was a game changer. Glad to know it has a proper name! All the best from Texas, USA.
Thank you ,I've done this so much better then the norm. I love your short tutorial , that's the one I always choose. Learn it in I:25 or 8:00, I'll take the 1:25!!
I was struggling for a very long time trying to figure out how to join yarn. I'm a beginner and I'm trying out a knitted hat as a gift this Christmas. I was working along and then suddenly my yarn was in two! I was shocked and worried because I thought it would be awhile until I had to join yarn as I'm working with a rather large ball. I quickly searched for videos to help me learn and I just couldn't grasp the idea. They moved too quickly and I couldn't see their fingers. I decided to give this video a try and it worked! I've successfully joined yarn for the first time! Thank you so much for your help, this video was so very helpful.
Excellent video! I got it on the first try. And on the third ;) Amazing how strong that knot is. I could not pull it apart. Thank you so much : ) (On the second try, I did not get those ends tucked down properly into the centre of the yarn circle.)
It took me way too long to realise you were just using your thumb. The angle made me think your finger had a part in it. In any case, fantastic video. Thank you soo much Ms Garcia..
This is fantastic, thanks so much! I've just made my 2nd scarf and used this technique and it's so much better than my 1st attempt where I just tied the yarns together! simple and quick video that's easy to follow ^_^
If you pull on your yarns afterward and one slides right out of the knot: make sure that the point where the yarns are folded over stays to the right of the two loops being pulled tight.
This is definitely a bit of a 'knacky' thing to learn. I've made over 20 attempts and failed every time. When I start pulling on the one color, it just comes off my thumb 'not' attached to second color. Will keep trying, but definitely have to get a 'knack' or whatever the word is, for this. Love the idea tho. You make it look SO easy, lol.
+rjknittingdude You probably had the same problem as me, make sure that the first loop you warp around is under the second loop, so basically the second loop is one that closer to the tip of your finger
***** Thank you for this info. Yes, I am actually just sitting and following along with the video, when at home. I've sat here and tried this over and over 15-20 times in a row on several occasions. Tried again yesterday about a half dozen times in my car, waiting for a ferry. Had to change colors, so tried this again, over and over. I've tried leaving just a little sticking out and a lot sticking out, to see if that makes a difference. But, just won't work for me. So I'm obviously doing 'something' wrong, because you've proven it 'works'. I'll just keep trying in the future when I'm color changing. I'm a color knitter so usually every project I have many ends to attach. Thank you again :-)
***** Just watched the video and saw something I missed before so tried it and got it to work 'almost', twice out of a dozen attempts. But the second time it worked, I had quite a big knot. First time it worked, it looked good, so thot I had it, lol. So tried again, but had big knot second time. Tried 6 more times, but it wouldn't work. So, definitely 'knacky'.
+rjknittingdude I have the same problem, its not as easy as it seem on the video. Probably working for me in 10 times out of 50. I am getting a bit annoyed.
+Rós Magnúsdóttir Haha, yes, I'm getting a little annoyed too, but mostly at myself, since when I watch the video it looks SO easy, but when I try, the ends just come apart as i pull. I've watched a few other techniques, which are NOT knacky, so may have to give up on this one, for now. The one I like most is with a darning needle. My only problem, I only use Bernat 100% cotton and my darning needle is way to big to fit down the center of the yarn. Also saw a 'braiding' technique, which I really liked, and I have no problem braiding, so gonna try that later tonight when I change colors.
I used two yarn colors so that you can see which one to wrap and pull. I had to help the yarn off my fingers as it takes practice sliding and pulling to create the knot. I use it for same color joins so that I don't have to weave in later.
Well, apparently one must have the correctly shaped thumb. A total no go for me. Love what you can do. My thumb and finger make an X and won’t go almost parallel as yours do. I still love it, though.
This is definitely a way to join yarn but not very securely from my attempts. When I pull on both yarns to tighten the knot the one not used to loop around it simply slips out. Perhaps it's that I'm not doing it quite right yet? I'm sticking with the invisible knot for now.
Thank you so much for making this video I almost was going to quit on my infinity scarf it was so well directed please keep making more videos like this. And I will let you know if I have any questions, if it's ok with you?
Thank you. I need to figure out how to set up the camera. I kept going off camera and I was recording over a sofa cushion! Thanks for the input. I just might.
The reason for not tying knots is that they will come undone eventually in the wash; ruining the work. Weaving in ends prevents this. My question of course; will this join knot eventually come loose in the wash? Have you ever had this happen to you? Thanks kindly. Vicky
When I tried this, it still leaves a big knot! I am using worsted weight yarn. Might be better with #2 or #3 but not for #4. I’ll continue to weave in ends. I don’t want big knots in my work.
I was able to do it. But how good is the hold of the knot. I did the technique where you tie two knots and pull them together on a blanket and a few of them came apart. Will I have the same issue here?
Idk what I am doing wrong. I have tried your technique, can't say how many times, and for some reason I tug to make tight and one comes out of the knot. Please help me figure this out.
Your camera angle and clear instructions helped me learn my mistake .Thank you for teaching us miss!
I’m glad I could help. It’s funny because I had my iPad on a sofa seat cushion and recorded with my hands in front. Lol. No fancy equipment needed!
This is the easiest, least visible and smartest way I've seen to join yarn. Thank you!!
This is the first video for this join that I have been able to successfully follow! Thank you!!!
Thank you, thank you! I have watched three other videos repeatedly and could never get this to work until I found your video! I did it! Thank you again!
Omg thank you for being detailed!!❤
Thanks! And thanks for taking it so slowly. So many of these videos speed through things because the person who is doing it is used to doing it in automatic, but that can really make it difficult to digest it. Here you gave enough time to totally get behind the method. :)
WOW, because you made it SO EASY, I did it!!! It took a few times, but I got it. You're a great tutor THANKSSSS!
Your welcome! Thanks for the positive feedback!

I absolutely hate weaving in ends, this is a game changer! :) And so easy! I got it on my second try. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I wish I found your video earlier as I had made a blanket with the silky soft yarn & it was hard joinging the yarn and not slipping off. This is such a great way I will use it. Thank you again for this video.
I do this knot all the time now. So easy and reliable. Thank you so much for teaching this knot.
I luv this method. Super quick, and I can easily hide it betwixt stitches. Best Crochet trick, I've learned so far!
Thank you, for sharing. :)
Wow! Thank you! I had to try a few times, but I think I figured it out now. This is wonderful! A real game changer for me, too! This is TRULY the most helpful video I have viewed in years! Thanks again
I love this. I have looked at so many videos on the easiest way to join the yarn together and yours is by far the best! Thank you.
I watched another video similar to this more than 100 times and still could not get it. Watching yours, I realized it was the 3rd wrap I was messing up. I finally got it. Thank you.
Thank you so much! After watching other clips and not getting it, this one finally did it! Amazing!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've been trying to make this knot using a different RUclips video and could not get it. NOW I CAN DO IT!! Yippee!!!
Amazing! I used this technique to join Thick and quick yarn, Missed it the first time but the second time was perfect! Didn't even have to trim. Thanks for the instructions. It worked like a charm.

I loved your video! I've seen others videos with this technique but they're so fast and with your video I could made it in my first attempt. THANK YOU

Your video is my absolute go to👏 Works everytime so nice 😊
Thank you so much! Was looking for a new way to connect both yarns. Very easy and very helpful!
Thank you so much for this great tip, it will save a lot of time not having to weave all the ends all the time :)
It took me a few attempts but I mastered it!! And wow what a secure knot it is! Fantastic tutorial thank you :)
Why didn’t I find this sooner! so clear and simple. Other tutorials are so unnecessarily complicated

I'm a new to crochet and your video was the best - Thank you!
Your welcome!
Amazing! Thank u soooooo soooooo much for taking time to make this video!! After 3 attempts I finally got it! 🎊🎊🎊😅
Super knot, and so simply explained✅
Nice explanation of this method, thank you so very much!
very helpful tip cousin, I'm gonna try this method instead of my old one, this one looks more neat.

Omg I finally got it!! Thank you sooooooooo much!! This is going to save my life with my c2c projects! Your amazing.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I managed it first time :) can't believe I haven't tried this before having knitted for years.

Took me a few tries because of the type of yarn I’m using but finally got it right!! This is a huge help!
Love this method of joining!! Thanks again!!
thank you! clear and concise, plus good focus on the project.

I love this method thanks

Vicky Jones, there are some types of yarns that this will not work with. I have never had this knot come undone on any of my projects.
Vicky Jones, I also only hand soak my knits and lay them flat to dry. I use both methods, weaving in the ends or knotting, depending on the project. 😉
Thank you.
Thanks I use this all the time so much easier
Hi can this technique be used in crochet pooling for adding on additional skeins of yarn?
When I tried this, it still leaves a big knot! I am using worsted weight yarn. Might be better with #2 or #3 but not for #4. I’ll continue to weave in ends. I don’t want big knots in my work.
I agree, it does work better with thinner yarns. 💜
so helpful! thanks :)
Ty. Love this.
I was able to do it. But how good is the hold of the knot. I did the technique where you tie two knots and pull them together on a blanket and a few of them came apart. Will I have the same issue here?
