    Is research (publications) is mandatory for IMGs to match into lM,FM, pediatrics?

    • @IshwariChandran
      @IshwariChandran  2 года назад +1

      Not mandatory but it may help to increase your chances of matching at academic programs since it’ll show them your interest in research

    Hello.
    I have a question here. I have problems with getting visa. So, I decided to take telerotations.
    They are very different and some of them are really expensive and from big universities.
    I am really confused. I do not know if spending money on expensive ones is a waste or I can build good connections and use theLOR from the big universities to improve my chances of match.
    I would be really thankful if you could help.

      it's better cuz it builds your knowledge base and you'll be able to contribute more. Also, some rotations have step 1 as a requirement

      Some rotations may need step 1 (differs from one place to another so you can check before applying)
      You don't need a visa for telerotations as you dont have to travel

    Just wanted to get one thing cleared, how do i do electives while I am still a medical student, i mean how to take out dedicated time for USCE while I'm still in med school, how much time does one elective takes, can i do an elective when i have my vacations from med scool, kindly guide!

    • @dr.1956
      @dr.1956 2 года назад +1

      During your medical school, you have summer holidays of about 2 to 3 months take out this time to do usce, or tele rotation, if you do 1 each year that's 3 usce and 3lor

      @@dr.1956 OMG thanks alot , I was so confused about it, moreover, from which year onwards, should i start doing electives, since in first two years of med school, we have very little clinical relevance. In my home country we have 5 years of MBBS.

    • @IshwariChandran
      @IshwariChandran  2 года назад +1

      @Dr. is right! You can plan it during your breaks (I did mine similarly too)
      Each rotation is typically 4weeks long so it's almost like 1 LoR for 4weeks
      You can try scheduling them based on your breaks after you complete your preclinical subjects
