Hey , when matcharesident shows time since graduation cutoff as 3 yog does it mean that there is no possibility of filtering out someone less than 3 yog or is there a possibility of programs sorting through applications by filtering out say more than 2 yog ??
Mam please also make a video on how and through what we can apply for rotations......and also the average cost.....requirements for rotation after graduation.......and when (which month) should we apply for the rotation if graduated in Aug.
Thank you so much your videos are in time and so informative. If you can explain what is the benefit and when we can do the AAMC account and what's the NRMP number these a lot of accounts make me confused sometimes. Another question is how to register to step 3 and lastly if you took any interview skill sessions and what's your preparation and experience. A million thanks again. Keep the good spirit.
You're welcome, Rasha! 1. You will get an AAMC account when you buy an ERAS Token. You will have to register w the NRMP to create a rank order list. I've explained the entire process in detail in this video: ruclips.net/video/ZPDt8hFU4wI/видео.html 2. You've to register on FSMB for step 3. 3. I did not take any interview skills sessions. I prepared for it myself by finding out the most commonly asked interview Qs. I'll share tips & my experience in a video this week :)
Thank you for all useful information. I have one additional question. Should I get in touch to programs before I apply, like introducing myself or asking particular questions about the program or expressing an interest?
You’re welcome :) letters of interest may help but I believe now may be quite early as program coordinators would still be busy w the onboarding process of their new residency classes. So I guess doing it a few weeks later may be better?
Love your content, always helpful!!! I'm still at medical school n considering usmle once I graduate but I hv a few questions 1. Does the first aid change each year and basically the content to be tested 2. U mentioned volunteer experience, when did u do that? During med school or after (cos I'm also thinking about LORs, how will u get them) I'll highly appreciate your response 🙏
Aww thank you! 1. Yes, it does. It’s advisable to use the latest version 2. Majorly during med school Try to apply to programs/hospitals for electives by emailing them!
Hello Doc, I hope you're doing well. Your all videos are informative and very useful. Can you please tell me how to find programs that don't have ECFMG requirements by the time of application? Thank you in advance!!
Thanks! Yeah it’s better to apply after you get your degree ‘cause you’ll need your degree to be ECFMG certified. And it’s highhhhly recommended to be ECFMG certified by September (although it isn’t a rule but it’s kinda better to be)
If someone take exam in month of August, last week, is it possible to get results before programs start looking at applications? I heard results come late in those months.
It usually takes about 2 weeks to get results and another 2 weeks to be ECFMG certified after getting the results (assuming, pathway and step 1 are done by then) You're right. There may be a delay in score reporting some times though. This is how it was last year: www.ecfmg.org/news/2021/03/25/step-2-ck-delay-in-score-reporting-3/#:~:text=Most%20Step%202%20Clinical%20Knowledge,week%20of%20June%2027%2C%202021. I'd suggest checking w the ECFMG about it so that you can plan your test date accordingly
It depends. I matched in like 8 months cuz I applied immediately after graduation. Some people match in a few years. There’s no definitive timeline. I’ve shared my timeline in another video :)
Hey! I don’t quite have my list w me rn but I highly recommend creating your own list and everyone has their own preferences and everyone’s application is unique!
Every one is sort of recommending MAR and i pulled the trigger but i am very disappointed after paying like 150$. It has really limited information ; not anymore real upgrade over the free Residency explorer .
Hey sorry to hear that! As mentioned in this video, MAR majorly helped me w finding out stuff about programs’ deadlines for ECFMG certification, acceptance of telerotations and interview link/review features. Last year, all of this info wasn’t available on residency explorer so MAR was quite useful for these things when I was creating my list.
@@IshwariChandran exactly ; I have a problem with application deadlines ; how can an IM program have application dead line of December /?? Makes me doubt their information in even accurate or gathered by random website visitors.
@@redwolf155 I believe they call programs up to get the updated info. I remember them mentioning the date it was updated as well. Some programs may strictly not download apps after a given point while some may. Some programs mentioned this during their open house sessions last year as well. Not sure if they actually do it though :p

Hey , when a program says time since graduation cutoff of 3 years on matcharesident , is there a possibility that the program might apply filter of time since graduation to 1 year or is it that there’s no possibility of filtering out less than 3 yog? Thank you
hi iam so confused yog is oct 2018 iam gonna get married there to a person who is having h1b visa i have been working as medical officer, havent done md here. is it possible for me to match?
In that case, you would come under the category of NON-US IMG. However, since you won’t be needing a visa, you can filter programs & apply accordingly (you can also apply to programs that don’t sponsor visas unlike nonUS IMGs who do not have a green card) :)
Thank you my darling. I finished OBGYN in India and now an old grad, I am in Philadelphia, if you need any help, if you don’t have family, feel free to connect. Much love carol.

@@IshwariChandran Hi, if you did not a visa (eg a greencard holder) would you put US-IMG?
Green card holders are not citizens so they would be non-US IMGs as well (just like all of us who need a visa)
Thank you.
